Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan (1) mengidentintifikasi nilai – nilai karakter yang di insert di dalam buku Bahasa inggris siswa dan (2) menganalisis strategi – strategi yang digunakan dalam inserting nilai – nilai karakter ke dalam buku Bahasa inggris siswa SMP kelas VIII semester 1. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitative yang merupakan penelitian analisis dokumen yang dilaksanakan di luar ruang kelas. Data diperoleh dengan cara identifikasi, pengelompokan, dan penjelasan. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan teori Trianguation. Penemuan dari hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa 14 dari 18 nilai – nilai karakter diinsert di dalam buku Bahasa inggris berjudul “When English Rings a Bell” Kurikulum 2013 Semester 1 untuk SMP kelas VIII. 14 nilai – nilai karakter yang diinsert di dalam buku Bahasa inggris siswa berjudul “When English Rings a Bell” adalah toleransi, disiplin, senang membaca, menghargai prestasi, ramah/berteman/komunikatif, mandiri, bekerja keras, bertanggung jawab, jujur, peduli social, cinta damai, kreatif, peduli lingkungan, dan ingin tahu. Nilai – nilai karakter tersebut diiinsert melalui strategi – strategi mengajar yang diusulkan oleh Thomas Lickona. Strategy – strategy tersebut adalah strategy role play, self-evaluation, cooperative learning, creating moral community in the class; knowing each other, dan teaching for students’ interest. Kata Kunci : nilai-nilai karakter, strategi mengajar, buku pelajaran Abstract This study was conducted to (1) identify the character values inserted and (2) analyze the strategies used to insert the character values inserted in students English Textbook Curriculum 2013 for grade VIII. This study was a qualitative study using document study which was conducted outside of the classroom. The data Wet collected through identification, categorization, and description. The data validation was gained through method triangulation. The findings of the study showed that there were fourteen character values inserted in English Textbooks entitled “When English Rings a Bell” based on Curriculum 2013 use for the grade VIII students. The fourteen character values inserted in students English Textbook “When English Rings a Bell” are tolerant, discipline, love reading, appreciating achievement, friendly/communicative, independent, hard work, responsible, honest, social care, love pace, creative, environmental care, and curious. Those character values were inserted through teaching strategy promoted by Lickona, namely role play strategy, self-evaluation, cooperative learning, creating moral community in the class, knowing each other, and teaching for students’ interest. keyword : character values, teaching strategies, textbook

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca dengan menggunakan strategi CSR pada kelas XI-IA di SMA N 1 Sukasada pada tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan hasil pengamatan. Dari hasil pengamatan pemahaman siswa dalam membaca kurang memuaskan. Hal ini dibuktikan dari nilai rata-rata pre-test. Nilai yang diperoleh hanya 51 dan dikategorikan cukup. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan berturut-turut pada nilai rata-rata siswa setelah diberikan pelatihan pada dua siklus. Pada siklus pertama, nilai rata-rata siswa yaitu 77 dan ini dikategorikan baik. Nilai rata-rata meningkat 26 poin dibandingkan hasil dari pre-test. Hasil nilai rata-rata siswa pada post-test 2 yaitu 84 dan dikategorikan sangat baik. Nilai ini meningkat 7 poin dibandingkan dengan nilai rata-rata dari post-test 1. Selain itu, penelitian ini berhasil karena siswa mampu memperoleh nilai standar kelulusan yang melebihi dari 78.Kata Kunci : Membaca, Pemahaman membaca, Strategi CSR This classroom action based research aimed to improve reading comprehension by using collaborative strategic reading (CSR) strategy to the XI-IA grade students of SMA N 1 Sukasada in academic year 2015/2016. This study was carried out based on the result of the observation. It revealed that the students’ comprehension in reading was unsatisfied. It was proved by the mean score of pre-test. It was only “51” and categorized “insufficient”. The findings showed that there were successive improvements on the students’ mean score after being given treatment in two cycles. In the post-test 1, the students’ mean score was “77” and it was categorized “good”. Comparing to the mean score of pre-test it increased 26 points. The students mean score in post-test 2 was “84” and it was categorized as “very good”. It increased 7 points compare to mean score of post-test 1. Moreover, this study was successful because the students obtained the standard passing score ≥ 78. keyword : Reading, Reading comprehension, CSR strategy

Abstract

This research aims at investigating (1) the contribution of students’ self-efficacy toward students’ speaking achievement, (2) the contribution of students’ anxiety toward students’ speaking achievement, and (3) the contribution of students’ self-efficacy and anxiety toward students’ speaking achievement at eighth grade students in SMP N 1 Denpasar. This research used ex-post facto research design. The population of this research was the eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Denpasar. 75 students were selected as sample of this research by using simple random sampling technique. The data were collected by employing Self-Efficacy Questionnaire, Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale, and Speaking Documentation. The data showed that the students’ self-efficacy, anxiety, and speaking achievement are categorized in the moderate level. The collected data were analyzed by using simple and multiple regression. The result of analysis showed that: (1) there is contribution of students’ self-efficacy toward students’ speaking achievement at 53.1%, (2) there is contribution of students’ anxiety toward students’ speaking achievement at 9.8%, and (3) there is contribution of students’ self-efficacy and anxiety toward students’ speaking achievement at 56.2%. In detail, the effective contribution of self-efficacy is 50.27% and effective contribution anxiety is 5.92% toward students’ speaking achievement.keyword : Anxiety, Self-Efficacy, and Speaking Achievement

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran dari Dialek Melinggih, Payangan yang memiliki proses derivasi dan infleksi. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dua narasumber dari desa Melinggih, Payangan dipilih sesuai dengan sejumlah kriteria yang ditetapkan. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tiga teknik yaitu teknik observasi, teknik rekaman, dan teknik wawancara (mendengarkan dan mencatat). Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan ada lima awalan dan empat akhiran yang ada di Dialek Melinggih, Payangan. Awalannya meliputi {ma-}, {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, and {ə-}. Akhirannya meliputi {-Λŋ}, {-in}, {-ɔ}, and {-an}. Awalan dan akhiran yang mengalami proses derivasi antara lain: awalan {mə-} dan {ŋ-} dan akhiran {-Λŋ}, {-in}, dan {-an}. Awalan dan akhiran yang mengalami proses infleksi yaitu: awalan {ma-}, {n-}, {ŋ-}, dan {ə-} dan akhiran {-Λŋ}, {-in}, {-ɔ}, dan {-an}.Kata Kunci : imbuhan, dialek Payangan, proses derivasi dan infleksi. This study aimed at describing the number of prefixes and suffixes existed in Melinggih_Payangan Dialect and its types of inflectional and derivational. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. Two informant samples of Melinggih_Payangan Dialect were chosen based on a set of criteria. The data were collected based on three techniques, namely: observation, recording technique, and interview (listening and noting) technique. The results of the study show that there were five prefixes and four suffixes existing in Payangan Dialect. The prefixes were {ma-}, {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, and {ə-}. The suffixes were {-Λŋ}, {-in}, {-ɔ}, and {-an}. The prefixes and suffixes that belong to derivation are: prefix {mə-} and {ŋ-} and suffix {-Λŋ}, {-in}, and {-an}.The prefixes and suffixes that belong to inflection are: prefixes {ma-}, {n-}, {ŋ-}, and {ə-} and suffix {-Λŋ}, {-in}, {-ɔ}, and {-an}.keyword : affixation, Payangan Dialect, derivational and inflectional process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan fitur linguistik yang menyatukan dan membedakan Dialek Denbantas (DD) dan Banyuasri Dialek (BD) secara fonologis dan leksikal. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah penutur DD dan BD. Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah penelitian secara kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan daftar kata Swadesh dan Nothofer dengan cara observasi, wawancara, mendengarkan, dicatat, dan direkam. Data itu kemudian diolah dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa DD dan BD memiliki persamaan dan perbedaan secara fonologis dan leksikal. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terdapat 44 fonem yang menyatukan DD dan BD secara fonologis. Fonem-fonem tersebut adalah: 6 vokal: /ʌ/, /I/, /ʊ/, /ɛ/, /∂/, and /ɔ/; 7 diftong: /ʌʊ/, /Iʌ/, /Iʊ/, /ʌɔ/, /ʌ∂/, /ʊʌ/, and /ʌɛ/; 19 konsonan: /b/, /c/, /d/, /g/, /h/, /ʔ/, /j/, /k/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /p/, /r/, /s/, /t/, /w/, /y/, /ñ/, and /ŋ/; dan 12 kluster: /mb/, /nd/, /sg/, /ŋg/, /jl/, /nj/, /ŋk/, /kr/, /mp/, /ms/, /nt/, and /rn/. Di sisi lain, ditemukan 16 fonem yang membedakan DD dan BD secara fonologis. Fonem tersebut adalah: 6 diftong: /∂ʊ/ dan /Iɔ/ ditemukan di DD, namun tidak terdapat di BD, sedangkan diftong /ʌI/, /I∂/, /ɔʌ/, and /ʊ∂/ hanya ditemukan di BD; 10 kluster: /rb/, /nc/, /tg/, /gr/, /gl/, dan /kp/ ditemukan di DD, namun tidak ditemukan di BD, sedangkan diftong /pl/, /gl/, /ŋl/, and /rs/ hanya ditemukan di BD; tetapi tidak ditemukan vokal dan konsonan yang berbeda di antara kedua dialek. Berdasarkan dua macam daftar kata yang digunakan yang terdiri dari 658 leksikon, 457 leksikon ditemukan sebagai penyatu DD dan BD secara leksikal. Leksikon tersebut diklasifikasikan menjadi: 371 leksikon yang sama dan 86 leksikon yang serupa. Di sisi lain, 158 leksikon ditemukan sebagai bukti yang membedakan DD dan BD secara leksikal.Kata Kunci : fitur linguistik, fitur fonologis, fitur leksikal, dialek The study aimed at finding out the linguistic features that unite and differentiate Denbantas Dialect (DD) and Banyuasri Dialect (BD) in terms of phonological and lexical features. The subjects of this study were the speakers of those dialects. This research employed qualitative design. The data of the study were collected based on Swadesh and Nothofer Wordlists using observation, interview, listening, note-taking, and recording techniques. The obtained data were transcribed and analyzed descriptively. The results of the study show that DD and BD actually have similarities and differences in term of phonological and lexical features. The results of the study show that there are 44 phonemes that unite DD and BD in term of phonological features. Those phonemes include 6 vowels: /ʌ/, /I/, /ʊ/, /ɛ/, /∂/, and /ɔ/; 7 diphthongs: /ʌʊ/, /Iʌ/, /Iʊ/, /ʌɔ/, /ʌ∂/, /ʊʌ/, and /ʌɛ/; 19 consonants: /b/, /c/, /d/, /g/, /h/, /ʔ/, /j/, /k/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /p/, /r/, /s/, /t/, /w/, /y/, /ñ/, and /ŋ/; and 12 consonant clusters: /mb/, /nd/, /sg/, /ŋg/, /jl/, /nj/, /ŋk/, /kr/, /mp/, /ms/, /nt/, and /rn/. Meanwhile, there are 16 phonemes that differentiate DD and BD in term of phonological features. Those phonemes include: 6 diphthongs: /∂ʊ/ and /Iɔ/ are found in DD, but in BD the phonemes do not exist, while diphthongs /ʌI/, /I∂/, /ɔʌ/, and /ʊ∂/ are only found in BD; 10 consonant clusters: /rb/, /nc/, /tg/, /gr/, /gl/, and /kp/ are only found in DD, while diphthongs /pl/, /gl/, /ŋl/, and /rs/ are found in BD only; but there are no different vowels and consonants found in both dialects. From the two wordlists which contain 658 lexicons, 457 lexicons are found uniting DD and BD in term of lexical features. Those lexicons can be classified into: 371 exactly the same forms of lexicons and 86 similar form of lexicons. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran khususnya dialek Macang yang termasuk morfem derivasi dan infleksi. Penerilitain ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Kedua sampel informan dipilih berdasarkan serangkaian kriteria. Data yang telah dikumpulkan berdasarkan penggunaan tiga jenis teknik, yaitu: observasi, teknik merekam, dan tanya jawab (teknik mendengarkan dan mencatat). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat enam jenis awalan pada dialek Macang; {Λ-}, {mɅ-}, {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, {mә-} dan terdapat empat jenis akhiran: {-Ʌŋ}, {-In}, {-Ʌn} and {-ǝ}. Terdapat lima jenis awalan: {mɅ-}, {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, {mә-} dan terdapat empat jenis akhiran {-Ʌŋ}, {-In}, {-Ʌn} and {-ǝ} yang termasuk dalam morfem derivasi. Terdapat lima jenis awalan: {mɅ-}, {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, {Λ-}, {mǝ-} dan terdapat empat jenis akhiran {-ē}, {- Ʌŋ}, {-In} and {-Ʌn} yang termasuk dalam morfem infleksi.Kata Kunci : Morfem Derivasi, Morfem Infleksi, Dialek Macang This study aimed at describing the prefixes and suffixes in Macang Dialect (MD) which belong to derivational and inflectional morphemes. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran infleksi dan awalan dan akhiran derivasi dari Dialek Julah di desa Julah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif.Tiga contoh informan dari Dialek Julah dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yang ditentukan. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan tiga teknik, yaitu: observasi, teknik perekaman, dan teknik wawancara (mendengarkan dan mencatat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua jenis awalan di Dialek Julah yang termasuk derivasi, awalan {mә-}, dan {ŋ-}. Ada sembilan jenis awalan di Dialek Julah yang termasuk infleksi, awalan {mә-}, {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, {m-}, {Λ-}, {kΛ}, {pΛ-}, {pә}. Ada tiga jenis akhiran di Dialek Julah yang termasuk derivasi, akhiran {-Λŋ}, {-In}, {Λ-}. Ada dua jenis akhiran di Dialek Julah yang termasuk infleksi, akhiran {-ē}, dan {- nē}. Awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Julah yang termasuk derivasi adalah awalan {mә-} dan{m-}dan akhiran {-Λŋ} dan {-In}. Awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Julah yang temasuk infleksi adalah awalan {n-}, {ŋ-},{-ñ}, {m-}{-Λ}, {-kΛ}, {m-}, {pΛ-} dan {pә-}dan akhiran {ē-}, dan{-nē}. Fungsi dari morfem di pembentukan kata dari awalan dan akhiran yang termasuk derivasi memiliki fungsi untuk mengubah kelas kata dan mengubah makna kata dari kata benda menjadi kata kerja dan dapat memiliki arti melakukan kegiatan. Awalan dan akhiran yang merupakan infleksi memiliki fungsi untuk mengubah kalimat dari pasif menjadi aktif, karena tidak mengubah makna dan kelas kata. There are 3 derivational suffixes; suffix {-Λŋ}, {-In}, {Λ-}. There are 2 kinds of inflectional suffixes; suffix {-ē}, and {- nē}. Prefixes and suffixes which belong to derivation morphemes: prefix {mә-}, {m-} and {kɅ-} and suffix {-Λŋ} and {-In}. Prefixes and suffixes which belong to inflection: prefix {n-}, {ŋ-},{-ñ}, {m-}{-Λ}, {-kΛ}, {m-}, {pΛ-} and {pә-} and suffix {ē-}, and {-nē}. The function of these morphemes serve in word forming are the prefixes and suffixes that belongs to derivational morphemes has a function to changes the class and the meaning of a word from noun to become verb and also have a meaning to do an activity. Abstract

Penelitian ini dirancang dalam bentuk penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran pada Bahasa Bali khususnya dialek Wongaya Gede yang termasuk morfem derivasi dan infleksi. Terdapat tiga informan dipilih berdasarkan beberapa kriteria. Tiga cara digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data, yaitu melalui observasi, rekaman, dan wawancara (mendengarkan dan mencatat). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan lima jenis awalan pada dialek Wongaya Gede, yaitu awalan {mә-}, {kә-}, {N-}, {si-}, dan {ә-} dan enam jenis akhiran: {-әng}, {-an}, {-in}, {-ne}, {-ә }, dan {-n}. Ada empat jenis awalan: {mә}, {kә-}, {N-}, dan {si-}, dan satu jenis akhiran: {-әng} yang termasuk morfem derivasi. Tiga jenis awalan: {N-}, {ә-}, dan {mә-} dan lima jenis akhiran: {-an}, {in}, {-ne}, {-ә}, and {-n} termasuk morfem infleksi. Kata Kunci : morfem derivasi, morfem infleksi, awalan, akhiran This study was designed in form of descriptive qualitative study with the aim of describing the prefixes and suffixes in Wongaya Gede dialect which belong to derivational and inflectional morphemes. Three were three informants chosen based on a set of criteria. Three techniques were used to collect the data, namely observation, recording, and interview technique (listening and noting). The results of the study indicare that there are five kinds of prefixes found in Wongaya Gede dialect, namely {mә-}, {kә-}, {N-}, {si-}, and {ә-} and six kinds of suffixes: {-әng}, {-an}, {-in}, {-ne}, {-ә}, and {-n}. There are four kinds of prefixes: {mә}, {kә-}, {N-}, and {si-}, and one kind of suffixes: {-әng} which belong to derivational morphemes. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa gaya belajar pada siswa kelas 10 yang belajar berbahasa inggris sebagai bahasa asing dan alasan pemilihan gaya belajar tersebut di SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura. Metode yang telaah digunakan untuk memperoleh data adalah keusioner yang bernama Perceptual Learning Style Preference Questionnaire (PLSPQ) dan wawancara. Data – data tersebut dianalisa dengan mengunakan metode campuran. Hasil dari penelitian ini menempilkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa lebih menyukai gaya belajar berkelompok diikuti dengan kinesthetik, pendengaran, taktikal, melihat, dan gaya belajar individu. Itu juga didukung dengan hasil wawancara dimana siswa lebih banyak menyukai gaya belajar kelompok karena mereka dapat membagi materi pembelajaran atau ilu pengetahuan untuk mempersiapkan ujian. It dapat disimpulkan bahwa persentase siswa di sma Negeri 2 Semarapura terbesar lebih menyukai gaya belajar kelompok dengan persentase 79.5%.Kata Kunci : Siswa belajar bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing, Gaya belajar, Alasan pemilihan, Perceptual learning style preference questionnaire (PLSPQ) This research aimed at analyzing learning style and reason of selection of the tenth grade EFL students at SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura. The method used to obtain the data were questionnaire named Perceptual Learning Style Preference Questionnaire (PLSPQ) and interview. The data were analyzed by using mixed method approach. The result of the study showed that most of the students preferred group learning style followed by kinesthetic, auditory, tactile, visual, and individual learning style. It also was supported by the result of interview in which most students preferred group learning style by their responses on interview. The students preferred group learning style because they are able to share learning material or knowledge to prepare examination. It could be concluded that the most percentage of students at SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura preferred group learning style with the percentage 79.5%. keyword : EFL students, Learning style, Reason of selection, Perceptual learning style preference questionnaire (PLSPQ)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan bahasa oleh guru perempuan dan guru laki-laki dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing di SMK PGRI 1 Singaraja. Masalah yang di angkat dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) karakteristik dari penggunaan bahasa oleh guru perempuan dan guru laki-laki, 2) dampak dari penggunaan dari karakteristik bahasa yang dimiliki oleh guru perempuan dan guru laki-laki. Penelitian ini menggunakan 1 guru bahasa inggris perempuan dan 1 guru bahasa inggris laki-laki sebagai subyeknya. Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, dengan menggunakan instrumen manusia, rekaman dari hasil kegiatan belajar mengajar dan wawancara sebagain instrumennya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa karakteristik dari penggunaan bahasa yang dimiliki oleh guru bahasa inggris perempuan, yakni guru bahasa Inggris perempuan menggunakan bahasa yang kooperatif, tidak singkat, dan cenderung menggunakan bahasa Indonesia informal dalam proses belajar mengajar. Sedangkan karakteristik dari penggunaan bahasa yang dimiliki oleh guru laki-laki yakni, tidak kooperatif, singkat, dan cenderung menggunakan bahasa Indonesia formal dalam proses belajar mengajar. Dampak dari penggunaan karakteristik bahasa yang dimiliki oleh guru bahasa inggris perempuan adalah siswa lebih aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, tetapi kecenderungan mereka untuk menghormati guru cenderung kurang. Di sisi lain, dampak dari penggunaan karakteristik bahasa yang dimiliki oleh guru laki-laki adalah, siswa cenderung tidak terlalu akif dalam proses pembelajaran, namun rasa hormat yang mereka miliki kepada guru laki-laki cenderung lebih tinggi. Kata Kunci : gender, bahasa, pengajaran bahasa inggris sebagai bahasa asing This research aimed at describing the characteristic of language use conducted by female and male English teacher at SMK PGRI 1 Singaraja. The problems raised in this research were, 1) the characteristic of language use of female and male English teacher, 2) the impacts of the use of the language use characteristic of female and male English teacher. This research used one female English teacher and one male English teacher as its subjects. This research is categorized as a qualitative research, which used human instrument, recording of teaching and learning process, observation sheet and interview guide as its instruments. The result of this research revealed that there were some characteristics of language use possessed by the female English teacher, which were more cooperative, less brief and tended using informal Indonesian in the teaching and learning process. Meanwhile, the characteristics of language use possessed by the male English teacher was less cooperative, brief, and tended using formal Indonesian in the teaching and learning process. The impact of the use of the language use characteristics of the female English teacher was students was more active in learning process, yet their tendency to respect their teacher was less. The impact of the use of the language use characteristics of the male English teacher was students were not active in the learning process, yet their tendency to respect their teacher was high. keyword : gender, language, teaching English as a foreign language
