Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan menginvestigasi tipe-tipe dan struktur-struktur kata majemuk pada bahasa bali dialek Pegayaman. Terdapat tiga informan yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini. Subjek penelitian ini ialah 50 orang penutur asli bahasa bali dialek pegayaman , dan objek penelitian ini ialah tipe dan struktur kata majemuk dalam bahasa bali dialek pegayaman. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tiga teknik, yaitu teknik observasi, teknik mendengarkan dan mencatat, serta teknik elisitasi, yang selanjutnya dianalisis secara descriptif. Hasil yang diperolah dari penelitian ini ialah, terdapat dua tipe utama kata majemuk bahasa bali dialek pegayaman yaitu kata majemuk endosentrik yang terdiri atas kata majemuk nomina, kata majemuk adjektiva, kata majemuk verba, dan kata majemuk adverbial, lalu terdapat pula kata majemuk eksosentrik yang terdiri atas kata majemuk adjectiva, kata majemuk verba, kata majemuk nomina, dan kata majemuk adverbial. Terdapat setidaknya enam belas struktur pembentuk kata majemuk endosentrik dan eksosentrik tersebut. Kata Kunci : Dialek, kata majemuk, tipe kata majemuk, struktur kata majemuk This research was a descriptive study which aimed at investigating the types and structures of compound words in Pegayaman Dialect of Balinese. There were three native speakers of Pegayaman Dialect of Balinese chosen as the informants of the study. The subjects of this study were 50 native speakers of Pegayaman Dialect of Balinese, and the objects of the study were the types and structures of compound words in Pegayaman Dialect of Balinese. The data obtained from observing, listening and noting, and eliciting techniques were then analyzed descriptively. As the result, there are two main types of compound words in Pegayaman Dialect of Balinese, namely endocentric compound words which consist of compoun noun, compound adjective, compound verb, and compound adverb, also exocentric compound words which consist of compound adjectives, compound verb, compound noun, and compound adverb. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui penggunaan alih kode pada pengiklanan yang terdapat di radio Guntur Singaraja dan (2) mengetahui fungsi yang mendasari terjadinya alih kode yang terdapat di radio Guntur Singaraja. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah pemasang iklan yang ada di radio Guntur Singarja. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan perekam suara, lembar transkrip, dan lembar observasi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang diikuti beberapa prosedur berdasarkan model dari Miles dan Huberman (1994), yaitu: penurunan data, menampilkan data, menggambarkan kesimpulan dan memverifikasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ungkapan dari pemasang iklan menghasilkan 9 (11.69%) intra-word switching sebagai alih kode yang paling sedikit digunakan. Yang paling banyak digunakan ditunjukkan dari intra-sentential switching yang menunjukkan 54 (70.13%) penggunaan alih kode dan inter-sentential switching sebanyak 14 (18.18%) dari 77 alih kode. Fungsi dari allih kode yang sering digunakan pada pengiklanan di radio Guntur Singraja adalah kutipan, panggilan spesifikasi, dan kata seru.Kata Kunci : Alih kode, Pengiklanan, Radio This research aimed to (1) know the used of code switching in advertisements which were announced in Guntur Radio Singaraja, and (2) know the functions underlying the occurrence of code switching which exist in Guntur radio in Singaraja. The subject of this study was the advertiser of Guntur Radio Singaraja. The data of this research were obtained by using observation sheet, tape recorder, and transcription sheet. This research was a descriptive qualitative study which followed several procedures based on Miles and Huberman (1994) model, namely: data reduction, data display, drawing conclusion and verification. The result of this research showed that the utterance of advertiser produced 9 (11.69 %) was intra-word switching as the less dominant switching. The most dominant was from intra-sentential switching that was 54(70.13%) and inter-sentential switching was 14 (18.18%) from 77 switching. The functions of code switching which were often used in the advertisement announced at Guntur Radio Singaraja were quotation, addressee specification, and interjection.keyword : Advertisement, Code Switching, Radio

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dirancang dalam bentuk penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan pelanggaran maksim di film Hotel Transylvania 2. Tiga teknik yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data, yaitu teknik observasi, menyeleksi data, dan mencatat informasi penting. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat jenis tindak tutur ditemukan di dalam percakapan, yaitu representative, direktif, komisif, dan ekspresif dan empat jenis pelanggaran maksim: pelanggaran maksim kuantitas, pelanggaran maksim kualitas, pelanggaran maksim relasi dan pelanggaran maksim cara. Terdapat enam alasan ditemukan dalam percakapan, yaitu untuk meyakinkan penerima, untuk menanyakan sesuatu, untuk menekankan sesuatu, untuk memberitahu sesuatu, untuk mengajak seseorang, untuk menolak sesuatu, dan untuk mengekspresikan perasaan. Kata Kunci : Kata Kunci: alasan, pelanggaran maksim, tindak tutur Abstract This study was designed in form of descriptive qualitative study with the aim of describing the flouting maxims in Hotel Transylvania 2 movie. Three techniques were used to collect the data, namely observation technique, selecting the data, and take a note the important information. The results of the study indicate that there are four kinds of speech acts found in the conversation, namely Representatives, Directives, Commisives, and Expressives and four kinds of flouting maxim: flouting maxim of quality, flouting maxim of quantity, flouting maxim of relevance, and flouting maxim of manner. There are six motives found in the conversation, namely to convince the addressee, to ask something, to stress something, to tell something, to invite someone, to reject something, and to express the feeling. keyword : Keywords: flouting maxims, motives, speech acts

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan jenis-jenis tindak tutur yang diucapkan oleh guru selama kegiatan belajar mengajar, bagaimana tindak tutur diwujudkan dalam komunikasi pengajaran, dan fungsi pedagogik dari tindak tutur. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua orang guru SMA Negeri 1 Seririt. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Data dianalisis menggunakan Miles and Huberman analisis data interaktif. Temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa guru hanya menggunakan empat tindak tutur berupa directives, commisives, representatives, dan expressives dalam proses belajar mengajar. Dari 134 ucapan, guru mengucapkan 65% directives, 5.2% commisives, 18.6% representatives, and 11.2% expressives. Ada tiga fungsi pedagogik dari tindak tutur guru, yaitu kontrol, organisasi, dan motivasi. Tindak tutur directives, declaratives, dan commisives berfungsi sebagai kontrol dan organisasi, tindak tutur representatives berfungsi sebagai kontrol dan evaluatif, tindak tutur expressives berfungsi untuk memotivasi. Kata Kunci : Fungsi pedagogik, proses belajar mengajar, tindak tutur This study was intended to describe and explain kinds of speech acts produced by the English teachers during teaching and learning process, how speech acts were realized in instructional communication, and pedagogical functions of speech acts. The subjects of the study were two English teachers in SMA Negeri 1 Seririt. This study was a qualitative study. The data were collected through observation and interview. The data were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman interactive data analysis. The findings show that there were only four types of speech acts performed by the teachers, namely representatives, directives, expressives, and commissives. From 134 utterances, the teachers produced 65% directives, 5.2% commisives, 18.6% representatives, and 11.2% expressives. There were three pedagogical functions of the teachers’ speech acts, namely control, organization, and motivation. Directives and commisives speech acts were functioned as control and organizational function, representatives speech acts were functioned as control and evaluative functions, expressives speech acts was functioned as motivational function.keyword : Pedagogical functions, speech acts, teaching and learning process

Abstract

Penelitian ini berbentuk kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran dalam dialek Kutuh yang mengalami proses infleksi and derivasi. Ada tiga informan dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yang ada. Tiga teknikdigunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu: observasi, perekaman, dan teknik wawancara (mendengarkan dan mencatat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada enam awalan dan enam akhiran ada dalam dialek Kutuh. Awalannya adalah {N-}, {me-}, {ka-}, {pe-}, {a-} and {maka-}. Sedangkan akhirannya adalah {-ang}, {-in}, {-an}, {-o}, {-e} and {-nyo}. Awalan yang mengalami proses derivasi adalah {N-}, {me-}, {ka-} and {pe-} sedangkan akhirannya {-ang}, {-an} and {-in}. Jumlah imbuhan dalam dialek Kutuh yang mengalami proses infleksi adalah empat awalan dan enam akhiran. Awalan tersebut adalah {N-}, {me-}, {a-} and {maka-}. Sedangkan Akhirannya adalah {-ang}, {-an}, {-o}, {in}, {-e} and {- nyo}. The study aimed at describing the prefixes and suffixes in Kutuh dialect which undergo derivational and inflectional process. There were three informants chosen based on a set of criteria. Three techniques were used to collect the data, namely observation, recording, and interview technique (listening and note-taking). The results of the study show there are six prefixes and six suffixes exist in Kutuh dialect. Those are prefixes {N-}, {me-}, {ka-}, {pe-}, {a-} and {maka-}. Meanwhile, the suffixes were {-ang}, {-in}, {-an}, {-o}, {-e} and {-nyo}. The prefixes which undergo derivational process are {N-}, {me-}, {ka-} and {pe-} while, the suffixes are {-ang}, {-an} and {-in}. The number of affixes in Kutuh dialect undergo inflectional process are four prefixes and six suffixes. The prefixes are {N-}, {me-}, {a-} and {maka-}. Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian qualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan (1) jenis - jenis tindak tutur yang diucapkan oleh guru-guru bahasa inggris (2) bagaimana tindak tutur yang diucapkan dapat disadari dari ucapan – ucapan guru dan (3) fungsi pedagogis dari tindak tutur yang diucapkan oleh guru bahasa inggris dalam proses belajar mengajar dalam ruang kelas di SMA Negeri 2 Mengwi pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah dua guru bahasa inggris. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui hasil observasi dan interview dan dianalisa menggunakan Miles and Huberman (1994) interaktif data analisis. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa guru menggunakan tindak tutur berupa directives, representatives, commisives dan expressives dalam proses belajar mengajar. Tindak tutur kata yang paling sering digunakan adalah directives (55.22%), sementara tutur kata yang jarang digunakan adalah commissives (0.65%). Ada 28 inti ilokusi yang dipergunakan oleh guru dalam proses belajar mengajar. Ditemukan juga bahwa guru lebih sering menggunakan tindak tutur kata langsung daripada yang tidak langsung dalam bentuk kalimat deklaratif, interogatif, imperatif dan esklamasi. Fungsi pedagogis dari tindak tutur yang diucapkan guru memiliki tiga fungsi yaitu, lingustik, manajerial dan instruksional.Kata Kunci : Fungsi pedagogis, tindak tutur, proses belajar dan mengajar This research was a qualitative study which aimed to describe and explain (1) the types of speech acts produced by English teachers (2) how teachers’ speech acts were realized in utterances and (3) the pedagogical functions of teachers’ speech acts produced by English teachers in teaching and learning processes in the classroom at SMA Negeri 2 Mengwi in academic year 2016/2017. The data of this study were collected through observation and interview and analyzed by following Miles and Huberman’s (1994) interactive cyclical model. This study found that the teachers produced directives, representatives, commissives, and expressives speech acts in the classroom teaching and learning processes. The most frequently used speech act was directives (55.22%), while the least frequent speech act was commissives (0.65%). There were 28 kinds of illocutionary forces performed by the teachers in teaching and learning processes. Furthermore, the teachers were found to use more direct speech act than the indirect ones in the form of declarative, interrogative, imperative and exclamation. The pedagogical functions of the teachers’ speech acts were broken into three functions, namely linguistics function, managerial function and instructional function.keyword : Pedagogical functions, speech acts, teaching and learning process

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan afiksasi yang termasuk derivasi dan infleksi dari dialek Batumulapan di Nusa Penida, Kabupaten Klungkung, Propinsi Bali. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah penduduk asli dari dialek tersebut. Subjek dari penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan melaksanakan observasi dan teknik perekaman. Data yang diperolah dikumpulkan dari tiga domain yang berbeda yaitu: domain keluarga, pertemanan dan persahabatan dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan prosedur dari data analisis yang diusulkan oleh Miles dan Huberman, (1984). Objek dari penelitian ini adalah afiksasi dari dialek Batumulapan yang termasuk derivasi dan infleksi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada enam jenis awalan di BDBM yaitu: awalan {me-}, {nge-}, {ng-}, {a-}, {ny-}, and {h-}. Ada satu jenis sisipan {-h-}., dan ada lima jenis akhiran di BDBM yaitu: akhiran {-te}, {-an}, {-in}, {-e} and {-ne}. Awalan dan akhiran yang termasuk derivasi di BDBM adalah awalan {me-} dan akhiran {-te}, {-an}, dan {-e}. Awalan dan akhiran yang termasuk infleksi di BDBM adalah awalan {me-}, {nge-}, {ng-}, {ny-}, {a-}, dan {h-}, sisipan {-h-) dan akhiran {-te}, {-an}, {-in}, {-e} and {-ne}.Kata Kunci : Kata-kata kunci: afiksasi, dialek Batumulapan, proses derivasi dan infleksi This study aimed at describing the affixation which belongs to derivation and inflection of Balinese dialect spoken by Batumulapan villagers (BDBM) in Nusa Penida, Klungkung regency, Bali province. This research was a qualitative descriptive study. The subject of this study was the native speakers of the dialect. The subject was taken through purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by conducting observation and recording technique. The obtained data were collected in three different domains: family, friendship, and neighborhood domain, then analyzed by using the procedure of data analysis suggested by Miles and Huberman, (1984). The object of this study is affixation of BDBM that belongs to derivational and inflectional morpheme. The results of this research show that there are six kinds of prefixes: {me-}, {nge-}, {ng-}, {a-}, {ny-}, and {h-} in BDBM. There is one kind of infix {-h-}., and there are five suffixes: {-te}, {-an}, {-in}, {-e} and {-ne} in BDBM. The prefixes and suffixes which belong to derivation in BDBM include: prefix {me-} and suffix {-te}, {-an}, and {-e}. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan dari penggunaan Reciprocal Teaching Strategy terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa SMP kelas 8. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang menggunakan Posttest Only Control Group Design. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP kelas 8 sebanyak 60 siswa yang dikelompokan secara acak menjadi kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Teknik yang digunakan untuk mengelompokan adalah teknik undian. Kelas VIII B5 terpilih menjadi kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan menggunakan Reciprocal Teaching Strategy sedangkan kelas VIII B6 sebagai kelas kontrol diberi perlakuan menggunakan strategi mengajar konvensionalPair work). Hasil yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik dan inferensial menggunakan SPSS versi 16.0. Hasilnya menunjukan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa yang diberi perlakuan menggunakan Reciprocal Teaching Strategy lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang diberi perlakuan menggunakan strategi mengajar Pair work. Ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata dari group eksperimen yaitu 83,90 sementara nilai rata-rata group kontrol yaitu 76,87. Disamping itu, hasil dari analisis t-test menunjukan bahwa nilai dari t-observe (tobv) yaitu 4.484. Nilai ini lebih tinggi dari nilai t-critical value (tvc) yaitu 2.003 pada level signifikan 0,05. Disamping itu, hasil dari perhitungan effect size yaitu 0,8, yang berarti bahwa Reciprocal Teaching Strategy mempunyai pengaruh yang tinggi terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa null hypothesis ditolak dalam penelitian ini. Kesimpulannya, Reciprocal Teaching Strategy memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa SMP kelas 8.Kata Kunci : Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Pemahaman Membaca, Reciprocal Teaching Strategy. This study aimed at determining the effectiveness of the use of Reciprocal Teaching Strategy on eighth grade students’ reading comprehension skill at junior high school. This study was an experimental study, which adopted Post-test Only Control Group Design. The samples of this study were the 8th grade of junior high school students, as many as 60 students were grouped randomly into control and experimental group by using lottery. Class VIII B5 was selected as experimental group which was treated using Reciprocal Teaching Strategy, while class VIII B6 as control group was treated by using conventional teaching strategy. The results of the obtained data were analyzed both statically and inferentially by using SPSS 16.0. The result showed that reading comprehension at the students who were taught by Reciprocal Teaching Strategy was significantly higher than the students who were taught by conventional teaching strategies (pair work). It was proven by mean score of experimental group was 83.90 while the mean score of control group was 76.87. Moreover, the result of t-test analysis showed that the t-observed (tobv) was 4.484. It was higher than the t-critical value (tvc) that was 2.003 at the level significant 0.05. Furthermore, the result of the effect size calculation was 0.8, which means that reciprocal teaching strategy has high influence on students’ reading comprehension. These results indicate that the null hypothesis was rejected. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fenomena culture shock yang dialami oleh turis Australia di Desa Ababi. Peneliti membatasi pada analisis fenomena culture shock ketika berinteraksi dengan masyarakat dalam komunikasi verbal dan komunikasi non-verbal. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah wisatawan Australia yang tinggal di Desa Ababi. Peneliti mengambil data berdasarkan wawancara semi-terstruktur dari 15 wisatawan Australia di Ababi Village. Peneliti adalah instrumen utama, pedoman wawancara, perekam suara dan catatan yang digunakan dalam rangka mengumpulkan data. Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data itu dari Pederson (1995). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada dua puluh dua fenomena culture shock dari turis Australia di Ababi Village. Ada lima belas fenomena culture shock dalam komunikasi verbal, dan tujuh dalam komunikasi non-verbal. Dari semua fenomena culture shock, fenomena kejutan budaya terbesar datang dari komunikasi verbal. Dalam komunikasi verbal Australia memiliki culture dengan beberapa adat Bali dan kondisi transportasi. Dalam komunikasi non-verbal Australia memiliki culture shock dengan komunikasi sentuhan, ekspresi wajah, gerakan dan kontak mata. Dalam transportasi Australia punya masalah dengan layanan, dan infrastruktur. Ada beberapa cara orang Australia dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah culture shock mereka. Seperti memikirkan solusi mereka sendiri, meminta dari teman, dan meminta penjelasan kepada masyarakat setempatKata Kunci : Culture Shock, Komunikasi Verbal, Komunikasi Non-verbal, Transportasi. This study aimed in analyzing the culture shock phenomenon experienced by Australian tourists in Ababi Village. The researcher restricts on analyzing the culture shock phenomenon when coping with the society in verbal communication and non-verbal communication. This design of this research is descriptive study. The subjects of this research were Australian tourists who live in Ababi. The researcher took the data based on semi-unstructured interview from 15 Australian tourists in Ababi Village. The researcher was the main instrument, interview guide, Mp3 recorder and note were used to collect the data. The theory used to analyze the data was from Pederson (1995). The result of this study shows that there are twenty two culture shock phenomena of Australian tourist in Ababi Village. There were fifteen culture shock phenomena in verbal communication, and seven in non-verbal communication. From all the culture shock phenomena, the greatest culture shock phenomena were coming from verbal communication. In verbal communication Australian had culture shock with some of Balinese customs and transportation condition. In non-verbal communication Australian had culture shock with Balinese touch communication, facial expression, gesture and eye contact. In transportation Australian had problem with the services, and infrastructures. There were several ways Australian people done to overcome their culture shock problems. Such as thinking the solution by their own, asking from friends, and asking for explanation to the local people.keyword : Culture Shock, Verbal Communication, Non-verbal Communication

Abstract

This qualitative research aimed at (1) finding out the types of communication strategies used by teacher during English teaching and learning proses; (2) analysing the English teacher’s reasons in applying the communication strategies; (3) analysing the students` perception toward the implementation of communication strategies used by the teacher. The subjects of this study were English teacher and XI grade students of SMA Saraswati Singaraja. The data were collected through direct observation and interview. Besides, observation sheet, video recorder, voice recorder, interview guide and field note were also used to collect the data. The result of this research showed that there were 14 types of communication strategies which were applied by the teacher namely: literal translation, code switching, non-linguistics signal, message abandonment, circumlocution, self-repair, approximation, use of fillers or time-gaining strategy, repetition, comprehension check, asking for repetition, guessing, interpretive summary, and response. From those strategies, code switching was the strategy that was most frequently used by the teacher during the process of teaching and learning. Meanwhile, message abandonment and interpretive summary had the lowest frequency of occurrence during the teaching and learning process. The teacher`s reasons for applying those communication strategies were to overcome the communication barriers that occur between the teacher and the students, to help the students understand and memorize the material easier. Moreover, the other teacher`s reasons for applying communication strategies were to make the learning process more interesting and make the students more focus to the lesson. The result of the interview also showed that the students had good perception toward the implementation of communication strategies used by the teacher in the classroom. keyword : communication strategies, English teacher, Dornyei and Scott`s theory, qualitative study.
