Abstract

Mathematics is often considered difficult because the material is abstract, so the learning process requires media to help students understand concepts more concretely. This study aims to produce an ethnomathematics-based geometry framework with valid, practical, and effective criteria. The type of research used is development research with the ADDIE model. The test subjects involved material and media experts and 32 fifth-grade elementary school students. Data was collected through questionnaires and tests using instruments like questionnaire sheets and test questions. The data obtained were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis methods. The results showed that the developed framework obtained a decent assessment from material experts, media experts, and small groups of students. In addition, the results of the effectiveness test through hypothesis analysis showed a significant difference between students' metacognitive abilities and mathematical understanding before and after using the media. This indicates that the framework developed is valid, feasible to use, and effective in improving the quality of mathematics learning, especially in geometry materials. This research implies that teachers can utilize the ethnomathematics-based geometry framework as a contextual learning tool, and by the characteristics of students in understanding geometry concepts in grade V elementary school.

Abstract

Students' low numeracy and metacognitive skills are one of the challenges in learning mathematics. In addition, the lack of contextual and relevant learning media to local culture also worsens the quality of learning. This study aims to analyze, develop, and evaluate the effectiveness of ethnomathematics-based mobile learning to improve students' numeracy and metacognitive skills. This is development research with ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) design. The research subjects consisted of 12 fifth-grade students as field trial subjects. Data collection methods used questionnaires, tests, and documentation with instruments in the form of product validity and practicality questionnaires, as well as pre-test and post-test questions to measure students' numeracy and metacognitive skills. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis for media validity and practicality and effectiveness tests, as well as a t-test to determine the difference in pre-test and post-test results. The results showed that ethnomathematics-based mobile learning is valid based on expert assessment, practical according to student and teacher responses, and effective in improving students' numeracy and metacognitive skills. This study concludes that mobile learning based on ethnomathematics can be an innovative and relevant learning medium to overcome mathematics learning problems. This research implies the need to integrate local culture in the development of learning media to create a more meaningful and contextualized learning experience.

Abstract

This research departs from the fact that the lack of use of digital media in the learning process. Research with this development model aims to provide alternative learning media in the form of contextual-based digital comics on grade V angle measurement material to improve student learning outcomes. This research was conducted using the ADDIE model which consists of the stages of analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects selected in this study consisted of one content expert, design expert, media expert, fifth grade teacher, three individual test students, and nine students for the small group test. The data in this study were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and multiple choices tests. The data that has been collected is then analysed using analysis techniques with quantitative descriptive approaches, qualitative descriptive, inferential statistical analysis. The findings in this digital comic product development research are as follows: (a) The results of product validity test through experts show that digital comic media have very valid qualifications; (b) the results of practicality test through teacher responses, individual tests, and small group tests obtained very practical qualifications; (c) the results of media effectiveness test through pre-test and post-test obtained effective qualifications. It can be concluded that the contextual-based digital comic media for mathematics content on angle measurement material is effective in improving learning outcomes, especially for grade V students.

Abstract

Pendidikan dihadapkan pada berbagai permasalahan, seperti kurangnya pemanfaatan teknologi, pengembangan media, dan penggunaan model pembelajaran yang efektif. Siswa memiliki kebutuhan dasar yang harus dipenuhi untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan video pembelajaran berbasis saintifik pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia untuk kelas V SD Negeri 1 Astina, dan untuk menilai kelayakan penggunaannya. Subjek penelitian adalah guru wali kelas V dan sembilan siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Astina. Penelitian ini menggunakan model ADDIE (analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, evaluasi) yang sistematis. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk video pembelajaran ini layak digunakan. Penilaian oleh ahli isi mata pelajaran memperoleh persentase 96%, ahli desain pembelajaran 94%, ahli media pembelajaran 96%, uji coba guru 89%, dan uji coba kelompok kecil 99,5%, semuanya dengan kualifikasi sangat baik. Dengan demikian, video pembelajaran berbasis saintifik ini efektif dalam mendukung proses belajar mengajar, terutama pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia, dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

Studi ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kreativitas peserta didik di SD, serta pemanfaatan media pembelajaran pada pembelajaran yang belum optimal. Penelitian pengembangan ini memiliki empat tujuan, yaitu: menghasilkan rancang bangun media pembelajaran berbasis proyek berbantuan articulate storyline 3, menganalisis validitas isi media pembelajaran berbasis proyek, menganalisis respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan menganalisis efektivitas media pembelajaran berbasis proyek terhadap kreativitas siswa kelas IV SD. Studi pengembangan ini menggunakan model ADDIE, yaitu: analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Studi ini mengambil subjek media pembelajaran berbasis proyek, sedangkan objek penelitian pengembangan adalah validitas isi materi, desain, media, respon siswa, dan efektivitas media. Metode pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan angket/kuisioner. Instrumen yang dipergunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu pedoman observasi, lembar rating scale, dan angket/kuisioner. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: media pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang telah dihasilkan memperoleh indeks validitas dengan kualifikasi validitas isi tinggi, materi pada media pembelajaran berbasis proyek memperoleh indeks validitas dengan kualifikasi validitas isi tinggi, tingkat pencapaian respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran berbasis proyek berbantuan articulate storyline 3 dengan kualifikasi sangat baik, dan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) pada uji-t berkorelasi memperoleh skor sebesar 0,000 atau p < 0,05 (taraf signifikansi 5%). Dengan demikian, inovasi media pembelajaran berbasis proyek berbantuan articulate storyline 3 terbukti efektif meningkatkan kreativitas siswa kelas IV SD. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada meningkatnya minat belajar atau kreativitas siswa dan dapat memberikan wawasan pada guru terkait pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis digital.

Abstract

Penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis pendekatan saintifik di sekolah dasar masih jarang digunakan, karena dominan media yang digunakan hanya sebatas buku siswa. Hal ini membuat siswa bosan karena pembelajaran bersifat monoton. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-book berbasis saintifik pada materi Keanekaragaman Hayati Flora dan Fauna Khas Indonesia kelas V sekolah dasar yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE. Model ADDIE terdiri atas 5 tahap yaitu analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi dan evaluasi. Subjek pengembangan ini adalah e-book berbasis saintifik pada materi IPAS kelas V sekolah dasar yang diuji kepada siswa kelas V sebanyak 30 siswa, sementara itu objeknya adalah validitas dan kepraktisan e-book. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam peneitian ini adalah metode observasi dan kuesioner. Instrumen pengumpulan data yakni lembar kuesioner. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif persentase dan kategoris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan uji validitas dan kepraktisan dengan kualifikasi sangat baik. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa, kebaruan pendekatan saintifik pada e-book yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai penunjang pembelajaran. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada peningkatan literasi digital di kalangan siswa dan guru.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop Si Ceria, an interactive Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media to enhance fifth-grade students’ understanding of science concepts and their learning engagement. The innovation responds to the low levels of student achievement and engagement, attributed to the lack of effective and interactive learning media. Data revealed that students’ science concept mastery in the IPAS subject remains low at 71.75%, and learning engagement is also weak, with 33.41% of students indicating they “never” feel engaged during lessons. Si Ceria was developed to support metacognitive learning by incorporating features that help students monitor and evaluate their learning goals. The media combines 3D illustrations, videos, and textual information to deepen conceptual understanding. The development followed the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results showed Si Ceria has a very high level of validity, with expert ratings of 0.93 (media), 0.95 (content), and 0.96 (design). It was also rated highly practical by students, with 92.8% expressing satisfaction with its usability and visual appeal. Effectiveness testing indicated significant improvements in both conceptual understanding and learning engagement. Therefore, Si Ceria demonstrates strong potential as an innovative and independent learning tool for elementary science education.

Abstract

Many elementary school students do not enjoy learning English due to ineffective instructional approaches that limit independent learning. While digital technology offers potential solutions, its educational use faces challenges such as misinformation and students’ low digital resilience. This study investigates the current levels of digital innovation and digital resilience among elementary students and explores strategies to enhance these skills. A concurrent embedded mixed-methods design was used, involving 120 fifth-grade students and teachers from elementary schools across Bali, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Results show that students’ innovation and resilience in digital contexts remain low, and existing learning activities have not significantly improved these competencies. However, teachers support efforts to foster these skills. To address this gap, the study proposes the development of a Smart System Adaptive Mobile Learning (SSAML) system that incorporates gamification and the Tri Kaya Parisudha philosophy—a Balinese framework emphasizing good thoughts, speech, and actions. This culturally grounded digital learning model is intended to provide effective feedback, enhance student motivation, and promote digital innovation and resilience in English language learning.

Abstract

Mathematics is an essential subject in elementary education, with integers playing a key role as the foundation for more complex mathematical concepts. However, many students struggle to understand integers, particularly negative numbers and their operations. This study aims to analyze how prospective elementary school teachers represent the concept of integers and develop effective teaching strategies. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving 12 prospective teachers divided into three groups based on their understanding of integers. The primary instrument used was the modified Content Representation (CoRe) to evaluate how these prospective teachers represent and teach integers. The results indicate that most prospective teachers have a good grasp of basic integer concepts and frequently use number lines as a visual aid. However, some teachers still face difficulties in explaining negative numbers and their operations. The use of technology, such as interactive applications and educational videos, was recognized as an effective strategy for improving students' understanding. This study concludes that developing pedagogical skills in prospective teachers, particularly in teaching integers, is crucial to enhancing the quality of mathematics instruction at the elementary level.

Abstract

Elementary school students’ critical thinking skills in fraction topics remain low, primarily due to the limited availability of interactive learning media that can accommodate diverse learning styles. This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of a differentiated, problem-based learning (PBL) based interactive e-module in improving students’ critical thinking skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research design applied was a one-group pre-test–post-test, with Grade IV students as the subjects. Data were collected through questionnaires and descriptive tests using expert validation instruments, response questionnaires, and critical thinking skills tests, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, including a paired t-test. The results indicated that the developed media had very high validity (average scores of 4.8 from subject matter experts and 4.6 from media experts), high practicality (93.55% from teachers and 98.5% from students), and significant effectiveness (significance value 0.000 < 0.05). This e-module was designed to meet diverse learning needs through a differentiated approach, offering interactivity and fostering active student engagement. In conclusion, the differentiated PBL-based interactive e-module proved to be valid, practical, and effective in enhancing conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. The implication is that this media can be integrated into mathematics learning as an innovative solution to optimize learning outcomes and student engagement across various educational contexts.
