Abstract

The Indonesian government has also set a target to increase the contribution of renewable energy in the national energy mix to 23% by 2025 and 31% by 2050. In this paper, an analysis of Maximum PV Capacity was used on the transmission network with a minimum loading approach using the Power Factory15.1 simulation. From the simulation that has been done, it can be seen that the placement of two PV location points gets better results than the placement of one PV location point. This can be seen that the feeder load for PV location point of 74.3%, while for two PV location points of 35.8% which value is still within safe limits, but for two PV location points get better results. PV trip state frequency values obtained for single location point and two PV location points get a result of 2% of 50 Hz which is still within safe limits.

Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the most important components in the development of an area. The development of sustainable development accompanied by rapid technological advances and an increase in living standards can cause the consumption of electrical energy to continue to increase, including in West Sumatra Province. To meet the needs of electrical energy in the future, it is necessary to build and develop the existing electrical system at PT. PLN (Persero) in order to serve the needs of electrical energy in the future. One of them is by predicting or predicting the demand for electrical energy in the next few years by utilizing historical data on the consumption of electrical energy in the past. In this study, the authors predict the electricity needs of West Sumatra Province from 2019 to 2028. The need for electrical energy tends to increase from year to year. In 2019 the need for electrical energy is 3,705 GWh, while in 2028 it is 6,980 GWh with an average growth in energy sales of 7.29 percent. The household sector has the highest demand for electrical energy in 2028, namely 3,769 GWh with an average percentage increase per year of 6.6 percent. Keywords: Power system planning, Electrical energy consumption, Generation planning and Electrification ratio.

Abstract

The climate challenge is an energy challenge. thus, policymakers around the world are trying to accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies. The Global Energy Review said that global CO2 emissions from energy combustion in 2021 reached the highest annual level with an increase of 6% from 2020, The automotive sector is very important to achieve net zero global emissions by 2050 based on the agreement with the world in the Scenario Net Zero Emissions by 2050. in which in 2035 sales of internal combustion engine cars (ICE) will be stopped. In this case, of course, electric vehicles are an alternative to the field of future land transportation that uses batteries as fuel that utilizes renewable energy as a charger for electric vehicles. Electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) is a key driver of increased electrification mobility shifting away from internal combustion engines given that the specific geographical distribution of a region and its demographics are factors influencing the adoption of electric vehicles. This paper was written to review the state-of-the-art of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), a PV energy source in terms of renewable energy utilization, energy generation, batteries, and charging stations. PV generation is extensively reviewed, and although this research is quite extensive, some gaps need to be investigated for further research on commercial and residential aspects as a means of operating batteries for electric vehicle charging stations based on PV and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System). Regulations on the use of battery electric vehicles as an environmentally friendly means of transportation will grow based on government policies from each country

Abstract

Distributed Generation (DG) will become a future generation system known as a renewable energy source. Renewable energy is a topic being developed due to being environmentally friendly. It fulfills the need for electrical energy to replace fossil energy sources to reduce climate change due to carbon emissions towards net-zero emissions by 2050, reducing climate change by 1.50 C to 20 C. Solar photovoltaic (PV) is an energy source that has been widely developed and has enormous potential; where PV can be integrated off the grid and on the grid. Integrating PV into the network is challenging, so the network remains stable and reliable due to intermittent energy generation. This paper reviews the integration of PV-DG distribution networks. Topology, optimization, and impacts on the distribution network are also discussed in this paper. The literature review results show that PV-DG integrated into the grid has an impact caused by intermittent PV generation.

Abstract

This article presents the design and implementation of an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) system with automatic generator activation, aimed at ensuring the continuity of electricity supply from the National Electricity Company (PLN) grid, photovoltaic (PV) systems, and generator sets (Gensets). As reliance on the PLN grid is often compromised by various disruptions, including short circuits and natural disasters, integrating reliable backup energy sources is essential for maintaining operational efficiency across critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and industry. The ATS is structured to facilitate seamless transitions between power sources, minimizing downtime and enhancing system reliability. Test results demonstrate the ATS's effectiveness in managing switching processes, showing minimal voltage fluctuations and flicker durations, which underscores its capability to sustain uninterrupted power supply. By employing advanced monitoring technologies, this ATS system not only optimizes energy management but also bolsters the resilience of electrical infrastructure, addressing the growing need for dependable electricity in an increasingly variable energy landscape.

Abstract

This study presents the development of a solar-assisted smart home system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) that focuses on energy efficiency and hazard prevention as a contribution to sustainable living. The proposed system integrates renewable energy utilization with intelligent monitoring to reduce energy consumption and minimize carbon footprint. A Raspberry Pi microcontroller is employed as the central platform to coordinate multiple sensors, including a DHT11 sensor for temperature and humidity measurement, a gas sensor for leak detection, a vibration sensor for earthquake monitoring, and a PZEM-004T module for real-time energy consumption tracking. The system enables remote supervision and automated responses to environmental hazards while maintaining comfort and security for occupants. Experimental results demonstrate that the prototype enhances early warning capability for potential fire incidents and natural disasters, while significantly improving energy awareness through continuous monitoring. The integration of solar energy further supports the sustainability aspect, making the system a viable smart solution for greener and safer residential environments.
