Abstract

The main problems in this study were students who were not active in learning, students who were unable to solve problems independently, students who were unable to analyze learning material in depth, and teachers who had not used the right learning model so that it had an impact on student learning processes and outcomes. This research was conducted on fourth-grade students at SDN 217/II Bangun Harjo Pelepat Ilir Bungo, Jambi, Indonesia. The method used is classroom action research (CAR). The subjects in this study consisted of 18 students, 10 girls, and 8 boys. The technique used for data collection is an interview, observation, tests, and documentation techniques. The research instrument uses test sheets and observation sheets. The results of the study are that by using the Analysis, Findings, Development, Organizing the Material and Learning model in PKN learning it can improve the process and results of PKN learning for class IV students at SDN 217/II Bangun Harjo.

Abstract

In this study, 116 students enrolled in Universitas Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo of School Teacher Education Study Programme (PGSD) will have their Statistical Literacy (SL) proficiency assessed using the Statistical Literacy Ability Test Questions integrated with Indonesian Education Issues using a quantitative descriptive research approach. Researchers used the interview technique to delve deeper into the data they collected, while descriptive analysis was done on the data collected through the distribution of test questions. The findings demonstrated that the students' Statistical Literacy still needed to be improved. On the Statistical Literacy ability exam, 75% of students who scored below 60 and 25% of students who scored over 60 showed these findings. Secondly, the average student's proficiency in answering SL test questions can be observed based on Indicators, which are 71.33% in Indicator 1, 53.16% in Indicator 2, and 57.18% in Indicator 3. In contrast, the average student's proficiency in answering SL questions is 28.67% in indicator 1, 46.84% in indicator 2, and 42.82% in indicator 3. According to in-depth interviews, the primary cause of students' low proficiency in SL is their need to master descriptive statistics. Conversely, the Indonesian Education Issue approach is the primary element contributing to students' capacity to solve SL questions. According to the findings of this study, more research is required to determine whether using learning models, creating new learning models, or using learning strategies to tackle SL challenges can help students' SL skills.

Abstract

Scientific literacy skills at the elementary school level require learning media that can present concepts concretely and in accordance with students' cognitive development. The symbiosis of living things is one of the third-grade science topics that is still abstract and requires concrete examples for easy understanding. Available textbooks tend to display few examples of images, resulting in students' poor understanding of the subject matter. Therefore, this research focused on developing an illustrated storybook that combines text, illustrations, and audiobooks that can be accessed via QR Code to increase students' understanding and interest in reading. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D model which consists of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The Define stage was carried out by analyzing the needs of students and teachers. The Design stage included drafting the story script, designing illustrations, and integrating the audiobook with QR Code. The Develop stage involved producing the initial product and conducting validation by material experts, language experts, and media experts. The Disseminate stage was conducted through limited trials on third grade elementary school students and teachers to assess product practicality. The research instruments used were validation sheets, response questionnaires, and interview guidelines. The results showed that the developed picture storybook obtained an average validity score in the very valid category. The practicality test from both students and teachers resulted in a percentage above 90%, which was categorized as very practical. Thus, the final product in the form of a picture storybook equipped with an audiobook and QR Code is feasible to be used as a science learning medium in elementary schools. This media has been proven to facilitate students’ understanding of the concept of symbiosis and to foster reading motivation and active engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi rendahnya kualitas dan hasil belajar IPAS pada 18 siswa kelas VI, di mana hanya 44,44% yang mencapai ketuntasan. Penyebabnya adalah metode pembelajaran yang monoton dan berpusat pada guru. Dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dalam dua siklus, penelitian ini berhasil menunjukkan hasil positif. Keterampilan mengajar guru meningkat dari 78,5% menjadi 93%, sementara aktivitas siswa naik dari 69,5% menjadi 85,5%. Hasil belajar juga membaik secara signifikan, dengan jumlah siswa yang tuntas meningkat dari 12 orang (77,77%) pada siklus I menjadi 16 orang (83,33%) pada siklus II. Kesimpulannya, model TGT terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran IPAS di SDN 001/VIII Sungai Pandan dan dapat menjadi alternatif strategi mengajar yang inovatif
