Abstract

This research of background by students tend to ask her/his friend about her miss understanding in learning than to her/his teacher and it makes a horsy condition. This can be proved from the percentage of students mathematic score in final examination at the first semester. So, this research has purpose to find out the student understanding in mathematical concept at eighth grade of  SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan use cooperative learning strategy type snowball throwing is better than use conventional strategy. The design of this research is experiment. In addition, the population was student at eighth grade of SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan academic year 2012/2013 which consist of  fourth classes and use random technique sampling and was chosen VII.1 as experimental class and VII.2 as control class. The instrument was used is test and essay form. Based on the score of math post-test of two sample classes, the research found that the range value of experiment class is 72,46 and range value of control class is 43,68. The result from hypothesis testing with MINITAB proved P- value = 0,000 smaller than from α=0,05. So, it can be concluded that students understanding in mathematical concept by using cooperative learning strategy type snowball throwing is better than using conventional strategy at eighth grade of SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan.

Abstract

This research has background by students less activity and concept of students understanding in mathematical, also students teamwork in learning process. This research aims to know students activity and to know what is concept of students understanding in mathematic applying by students was wrong real correct strategy related has good effect than the concept of students understanding in mathematical with conventional study. This research was experiment, with research device of subject was random. The population was class students of  VII SMPN 2 Linggo Sari Baganti. The samples were class of VIIb as experiment and VIId as control class. Instrument this research was final test concept of students understanding in mathematics. Test used in essay form with reliability of test r11 = 0,8955. Technique the data analysis was test by using MINITAB. Based on the value of final test mathematics at both classes of samples obtained by experiment class had mean score = 74,53, standard deviation = 20,11, control class had mean score = 54,14, standard deviation = 21,60. Result of data analysis known by both samples have homogeneous and normal distribution α = 0, 05, P-Value 0,000, so that can be concluded the concept of students understanding in mathematics by applying wrong real correct strategy related had good effect than the students understanding with conventional study at students of VII SMPN 2 Linggo Sari Baganti in academic year 2012/2013.

Abstract

The lacking of students’ activities in learning mathematics and the less understanding of mathematical concept. The aims of this research are to 1) know  how the development of student activities is by applying the model of cooperative learning of club-round technique to the grade-IX students of SMPN 2 Lembang Jaya, 2) whether the mathematical concept understanding by applying such model is better than that by using the conventional learning to the grade-IX students of SMPN 2 Lembang Jaya. Population is the students grade-IX of SMPN 2 Lembang Jaya of academic 2012/2013 years. The sampling is made randomly and the chosen samples are grade-IX 3 as an experimental class and grade-IX 4 as a control class. The type of research is an experimental research with random to subject design. The analysis technique of the data using activities observasition and test t by one side. Based on the analysis of data, it is obtained that 1) the students’ activities experience an improvement by applying the model of Cooperative Learning of Club-Round Technique, 2) t result 2,02 > t tabel 1,69  So that, the students’ mathematical concept understanding applying such model is better than the students’ mathematical concept understanding using the conventional learning to the grade-IX students of SMPN 2 Lembang Jaya of the year 2012/2013.

Abstract

The background of the research are the students’ mathematical concept apprehension, leading to their low mathematical points. The purposes of this research is to know whether the students’ mathematical concept apprehension by applying the Genius Learning strategy is better than the conventional learning for the VII-grade students of MTsN Dangung-Dangung. This is an experimental research. The technique of sampling is by considering the existing characteristics and the sampling is purposive samples. The samples are taken in the purpose of improving the students’ mathematical concept apprehension and improving their learning completion. The instrument used in this research is the final test. The points of learning result for the students are processed with the Mann-Whitney test by using the final test data with the indicator of concept apprehension. The analysis is made by the assistance of Minitab and provides the probability value of 0.3197. It is shown that the probability is > α. So that the hypothesis put forward is rejected on the trust level of 95%. It is concluded that the students’ mathematical concept apprehension by applying the Genius Learning strategy is similar with that using the conventional learning for the VII-grade students of MTsN Dangung-Dangung in the year 2012/2013.

Abstract

There are several background in this research. First, the teacher still dominate all of theaching learning process so that the process applied one way communication or teacher centered. Second, the student are less activity. Third, the students less motivation which affect  the understanding of math concept of student especially is grade VIII. The purpose in this research to know whether the understanding of math concept of student by applying the quantum teaching model is better than the understanding of math concept of student by using conventional learning. The kind of this research is experiment by using random subject.  The population in this research is the student in grade VIII. The sample in this research is grade VIII.3 as experiment class and VIII.4 as control class. The instrument in this research is essay test with reliabilitas = 0,40. The technique of data analysis is used t-test one side, obtained,> then the hypothesis in this research is accepted. It is conclude that of math concept of student by applying quantum teaching model is better than the understanding of math concept of student by using conventional learning. Based on data analysis of student can be seen an increasing number of student who are active in every meeting.

Abstract

Research on background by the student’s comprehension of mathematical concepts is low. The type of research is research experimental with design   random trials on the subject. Population is all student’s of class VIII that registration in the school year 2013/2014, while sample is student of class VIII B as experiment class and VIII C as control class. Instrument that use in research is final test in from of essays, with a reliability test 0,926. Based on result analysis data obtained by the average in learning of result student experiment calss that is 79,7 and control calss that is 66,95. From result of statistical test t obtained t cound = 2, 3244 and t table = 1,682, because t cound > t table, then hypothesis that proposed to accepted. So it was concluded about studen’s comprehension of mathematical concepts with the aplication of cooperative learning type student team achievement division (STAD) with topical review better than the student’s comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 3 X Koto Singkarak.

Abstract

      The introduction of this research was caused by low mathematical of student’s achievement at seventh  SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan. To solve the problem, the researcher  devoloved an inquiring minds what to know strategy. the aim of this research to know the student’s mathematical achievement by using inquiring minds to know strategy is better than conventional strategy. the design of this research is experimental research. The population was taken  from seventh grade of student’s at SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan academic year 2012/2013. The technique sampling of this research was random sampling and chosen VII.2 as experiment class and VIII.1 as control class. The instrumen was used test. In form essay with reability test =0,99. Technique of data analysis was used ttest one side. Based on the hypotesis testing was obtained P- value= 0,001 < α=0.05, so it can be concluded that student’s  mathematical achievement by using inquiring minds what to know was better than conventional strategy.

Abstract

This research based of the lack of the students’ comprehension of mathematics concepts. This condition can be shown from students’ mathematics achievements of class VIII MTsN Palangki of Sijunjung Regency in 2013/2014 Academic Year. The purpose of this research to find out the effectivity of the application of cooperative learning technique Kancing Gemerincing toward the comprehension of students’ mathematical concepts and  influence of the application of cooperative learning technique Kancing Gemerincing toward the comprehension of students’ mathematical concepts. This research is kind of experimental research with the design random on the subject. The population of this research is students in class VIII that consist of 6 classes. The instrument that was used in this research is observation of student activity sheets and post test in form of  essays with reliability of the test is 0.855. Technique of data analysis is using one side T- Test with MINITAB. The result of hypothesis test is gotten that P-value 0.016 is smaller than α that is 0.05, so the research hypothesis can be accepted. Consequently, it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts with the application of cooperative learning technique Kancing Gemerincing is better than conventional learning in the class VIII of MTsN Palangki of Sijunjung Regency.

Abstract

This research is based by the lack of understanding of the mathematical concepts that still low, reading comprehension of student with subject matter, textbook owned does not used properly, and student lest to practice or given opportunity for deliver about their understanding with reading topic. This research is aimed at knowing wheather the understanding of the mathematics concept of the students who are treated by used Reciprocal Teaching approach is better than understanding of the mathematics concepts of the students with conventional teaching. This type of research is experimental. The population of research is student class VIII SMPN 1 Gunung Tuleh West Pasaman 2012/2013 academic year that consist of 5 class. The technik data collection have done is random sampling, the class had choosen VIII4 for ekspriment class and class VIII3 for control class. Instrumen that used of post test with indicator concept understanding. Hypothesis test result that gotten P-value is 0,007<a, so it means that hypothesis is accepted, consequently it can be concluded that the understanding of the mathematics concept of the students who are treated by used  Reciprocal Teaching approach is better than understanding of the mathematics concept of the students with conventional teaching class VIII SMPN 1 Gunung Tuleh Kabupaten West Pasaman.

Abstract

This research of background is the important of mathematics concept comprehension student’s, and the unusually of student’s discuss with their friend. This research to determine how indicator of student’s concept comprehension about student’s mathematics concept by using active learning strategy type The Learning Cell, to determine  what is mathematics concept comprehension of student’s by using active learning strategy type The Learning Cell better than student’s mathematics concept comprehension using conventional. The kind of this research is experiment, by using random sampling research. The formulation is all of IX SMPN 1 Batang Kapas and the sample is IX.5 as experiment class and IX.4 as control class. The instrument that is used in this research are quiz and test. The function of quiz is to see the development of student’s mathematics concept comprehension indicator an the test used to see mathematics concept comprehension that consist of seven items in essay form with reability 0,98. Based on the quantitative analysis that is done on normality test by using MINITAB’S program we can get p-value 0,713 for experiment class and p-value 0,909 for control class, soo the hypothesis using t test by significant 0,05. Based on description of data and hypothesis test, can be conclude that the student’s mathematics by using active learning type The Learning Cell is better than student’s mathematics concept comprehension by using conventional learning student’s.
