Abstract

Proof of the type of problem not accompanied by image visualization will require a longer flow and process than proof of the kind of problem accompanied by image visualization. The ability of students to prove problems, especially problems not accompanied by image visualization, must be adequately expressed and objectively. For that, we need an instrument that can reveal the ability to prove the case of these problems. This research has successfully designed a scoring rubric that can be explicitly used to measure students' proving abilities on problems not accompanied by image visualization. Aspects developed in the scoring rubric include making image visualizations according to the information in the questions. These include sub-aspects of image accuracy and completeness of labels, initial steps of proving, preparation of conjectures, flow of proving, and support for valid arguments for statements made. Based on the validation from the experts, the scoring rubric developed was declared valid and ready to be used to measure the student's proving ability on plane geometry, proving problems not accompanied by image visualization.

Abstract

Abstract

The improvement in students’ problem-solving ability and mathematical disposition is a highlight, especially in geometry transformation materials. This is because the learning model still uses conventional methods that emphasize students following and waiting for the direction of the teacher. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of problem-based learning models oriented toward open mathematical problems on the problem-solving ability and mathematical disposition of students in SMA Negeri 1 Susut. A pseudoexperimental study with a posttest-only control group design was conducted by comparing the provision of PBL and conventional learning models. The instruments used are tests and questionnaires. There are 5 items and 25 statements that meet the criteria of very high reliability. Data collection techniques in this study used test and questionnaire methods. The sample consisted of 60 students, 30 each as a control and an experiment. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using MANOVA (p<0.05). The results indicate that the application of PBL models oriented towards open mathematical problems is significantly more effective than conventional learning models in improving students' problem-solving abilities and mathematical dispositions both partially and simultaneously. The application of this learning model has led to an increase in perseverance, interest, and curiosity, which are essential for problem-solving with teachers as facilitators

Abstract

Although interactive e-modules in mathematics education have attracted growing scholarly interest, limited research has addressed the integration of collaboration and local wisdom to simultaneously enhance students’ problem-solving skills and character development. This study systematically reviews prior empirical research on interactive e-modules to examine their distribution across educational levels, evaluate their impact on cognitive and character-related outcomes, and identify existing gaps and future directions. Adopting a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by the PRISMA framework, 15 peer-reviewed studies published between 2020 and 2025 were analyzed, sourced from Google Scholar and Scopus databases. Descriptive and thematic analyses reveal that most studies focused on junior high school contexts and employed pedagogical models such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), STEAM, Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), and Ethnomathematics, all of which demonstrated effectiveness in enhancing mathematical problem-solving abilities. However, integration of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and local wisdom—such as the Tri Hita Karana philosophy—was relatively rare, despite their potential to cultivate values like empathy, responsibility, and environmental awareness. The findings contribute to the theoretical advancement of constructivist and sociocultural learning paradigms by underscoring the value of culturally and emotionally responsive digital content. The study concludes that interactive e-modules designed with collaborative and local cultural elements are instrumental in promoting holistic learning that supports both academic and character development. It recommends cross-sector collaboration among educators, families, and policymakers to design and implement contextually grounded e-modules. This review also identifies avenues for future research, including multi-level educational implementation, family involvement, and the integration of emotional learning in digital instructional design.
