Abstract

Abstrak. This research is a quantitative descriptive study that aims to describe the scientific literacy ability profile of students in biology class X MAN 2 Soppeng, Soppeng district. Data collection techniques were carried out using a biological science literacy instrument which was given to 24 class X students. Data analysis was carried out by conducting a quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the minimum score for students' literacy after the implementation of scientific literacy-based authentic assessment was 73 with a maximum score of 86 and an average score of 78.04. The score categorization shows that 16.7% of students are in the category of very good scientific literacy ability and 50% of other students are in a good category, while for the sufficient category there are 33.3% of students. So it can be concluded that the scientific literacy skills of class X MAN 2 Soppeng students are in a good category.  Kata Kunci: Scientific Literacy Ability, Profile, Biology

Abstract

Abstrak. Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei, bertujuan untuk mengetahui studi kemampuan kognitif biologi siswa SMA Negeri 5 Makassar. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 5 Makassar. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X IPA dan XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Makassar tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Penarikan sampel dengan teknik simple random sampling menggunakan rumus slovin. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 72 orang dari siswa kelas X IPA 1 sebanyak 36 orang dan siswa kelas XI IPA 1 sebanyak 36 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi berjumlah 25 soal multiple choice. Pengambilan data dengan membagikan soal kepada siswa secara luring. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa studi kemampuan kognitif biologi siswa SMA Negeri 5 Makassar dalam kategori tinggi sebesar 9,53% dengan frekuensi 49 orang, kategori sedang sebesar 52,92% dengan frekuensi 272 orang, dan kategori rendah sebesar 29,38% dengan frekuensi 151 orang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan kognitif biologi siswa SMAN 5 Makassar masih dalam kategori sedang. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Kognitif, Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi, Biologi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pengembangan dan validitas modul elektronik  menggunakan flipbook. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) serta model pengembangan EDDIE yang hanya sampai pada tahap pengembangan (development). Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI SMA/MA di Kabupaten Gowa. Data hasil penelitian ini diperoleh dari penilaian validator ahli dengan berbagai komponen penilaian terhadap modul elektronik yang dikembangkan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul elektronik pada materi sel sebagai sumber belajar peserta didik SMA/MA yang telah dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid. Peneliti mengharapkan melanjutkan hingga tahap praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

The research is a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent research design of pretest posttest control group design. This study aimed to determine the differences in understanding the concept of Biology and scientific attitudes among learners who learn through discovery learning model and direct instruction. The study population were all science major students in grade XI Senior High School 3 Takalar registered in academic year 2015/2016. The samples were taken by simple random sampling technique. The data were collected by using a two tier multiple choice test and a scientific attitude questionnaire. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and MANOVA test. The results showed that learners who learned with discovery learning model has an understanding of Biology concepts in low category and scientific attitude in very good category. Meanwhile, learners who learned through direct instruction have an understanding of Biology concepts in very low category and a scientific attitude in good category. The result of statistical analysis showed that there are differences between the understanding of biology concepts and the scientific attitude among learners who learned through discovery learning model and direct instruction learning model (F = 10.450; Sig (0.000) <α).

Abstract

Scientific process skills are an essential abilities in education and daily life, including observation, experimentation, analysis and drawing conclusions to understand natural phenomena. This abilities is relevant not only in the academic field but also has a positive impact in various aspects of life. Scientific process skills develop critical and analytical thinking, helping students understand how to think scientifically, solve problems, and make decisions based on evidence. Additionally, these skills enhance curiosity and a passion for research, making students lifelong learners. In the era of technology and innovation, scientific process skills are an important basis for developing expertise in various industries. Integrating these skills in education forms academically competent individuals and prepares them to face global challenges and contribute to the development of society through critical scientific thinking and solutions. This training was carried out at MTS Arifah Gowa. The results of implementing this training show a significant impact on improving the quality of learning. Skills such as observation, experimentation, analysis, and drawing conclusions provide a strong foundation for understanding scientific concepts. The results of the training showed that all participating teachers were very enthusiastic, based on the results of the questionnaire/instrument filled out after the training. Teachers stated that this training was very useful and relevant for improving the quality of science learning in schools. Teachers feel more prepared and confident in integrating science process skills into their curriculum, which is expected to improve overall student learning outcomes..

Abstract

Canva adalah platform desain grafis yang digunakan untuk membuat grafis media sosial, presentasi, poster, dokumen dan konten visual lainnya. Aplikasi ini juga menyediakan beragam contoh desain untuk digunakan.. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah Bahan ajar yang dikembangkan selama ini kurang menarik dan kurang variatif  serta menggunakan media konvensional. Solusi yang diberikan adalah Memberikan pelatihan tentang  tentang pembuatan bahan ajar dengan mengoptimalkan aplikasi desain grafis canva, sehingga guru-guru dapat menghasilkan bahan ajar yang lebih menarik dan beragam yang dapat memberikan impact bagi minat belajar dan minat baca peserta didik. Target yang ingin dicapai adalah Peningkatan kemampuan mitra dalam mengambangkan bahan ajar dengan mengoptimalkan canva sebagai platform yang mendukung. Adapun tahapan pelaksanaan pelatihan ini terdiri dari Tahap persiapan, Tahap pelaksanaan yang meliputi pemberian materi pengenalan canva, pelatihan dan praktik, penugasan mandiri dan evaluasi. Hasil yang diperoleh setelah pelaksanaan pelatihan adalah adanya peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam membuat dan memanfaatkan canva dalam membuat bahan ajar. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan Respon peserta menunjukkan skor rata-rata 3,64 (kriteria sangat baik).

Abstract

Abstract. This study is a quantitative descriptive research that aims to examine the Biology teachers’ perception on authentic assessment in SMAN (public senior high schools), the implementation of authentic assessment in Biology learning, and the inhibiting factors of Biology teachers in implementing authentic assessment at SMAN in Makassar City. The research population were 23 SMAN in Makassar City. Of the 23 schools, only 16 schools had teachers willing to be respondents or the sample of the study with the total of 35 Biology teachers at SMAN in Makassar city. Data collection techniques employed observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The results of the study reveal that the Biology teachers’ perception on authentic assessment is categorized as Very Good, while the implementation of authentic assessment by Biology teachers at SMAN in Makassar City which includes the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains is categorized as Very Good as well, where the teachers assess the knowledge competency by giving written and oral assignments to students, in the affective domain the Biology teachers at SMAN in Makassar City assess each student during and after learning, and in the psychomotor domain the teachers conducts an assessment by giving project assignments, portfolios, and products to students both individually and in groups. The inhibiting factors encountered by Biology teachers in authentic assessment overall have similarities, namely limited time in assessing, lack of students’ motivation in learning, and lack of availability of facilities and infrastructure in Biology Laboratory.Keywords: Authentic Assessment, Perception, Assessment Implementation, Assessment Inhibiting Factors

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the biology learning outcomes of high school students in the circulatory system topic. This is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. The population in this study comprised all eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. The research sample included class XI Biology 5 as the control class and XI Biology 7 as the experimental class, selected through random sampling. The research instrument consisted of a multiple-choice test with 25 questions. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests in the form of ANCOVA tests. The analysis results showed that the learning outcomes of students in the class taught using the PBL model, with an average pretest score of 31.12, categorized as poor and very poor, significantly improved, marked by an average posttest score of 86, categorized as very good and good. The ANCOVA test results showed a sig. value of < 0.05, indicating that the problem-based learning model has an effect on the biology learning outcomes of high school students.Keyword: learning outcomes, problem-based learning
