Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ critical thinking skills through the use of the Poster Comment method in the Indonesian language subject for fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Pajagalung. The Poster Comment method is a learning approach that encourages students to actively provide responses to posters containing specific information or issues, thereby stimulating their critical and analytical thinking abilities. This research employed a classroom action research (CAR) approach with two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Pajagalung. The results showed an improvement in students’ critical thinking skills from the first cycle to the second cycle. This improvement was evident from the increase in the average scores and the percentage of students achieving mastery learning after the implementation of the Poster Comment method. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Poster Comment method is effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading skills of grade 2 students at UPT SD Negeri 75 Bentang through the SAS method, a systematic and structured approach to developing reading skills by understanding language structure and sentence analysis. This research employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) to identify learning issues, implement necessary changes, and evaluate effectiveness. The results show that the SAS method effectively enhances students' reading skills, demonstrating significant improvements in sentence structure comprehension and vocabulary.Therefore,the SAS method is concluded to bea n effective alternative for enchanging elementary school student’s resding skills,worthy of consideration by teachers for reading instruction.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Pair Readingcooperative approach as an intervention to improve the loud reading ability of third- grade students at UPT SD NEGERI 75 BENTANG. Loud reading is a fundamentalskill that requires specific strategies, which, based on previous findings at the researchlocation, still require improvement. Abstract

This study addresses the problem of limited journalistic writing skills among students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program, particularly in composing structured, factual, and ethical news texts. Many students experience difficulties in applying news values, organizing information based on the 5W+1H principle, and using appropriate journalistic language. The purpose of this study was to provide structured assistance in news text writing and to examine its effectiveness in improving students’ news writing competence. The methodology employed was a mentoring-based training model using a descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach. The participants were university students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Program. The mentoring activities were conducted through workshops, guided practice, group discussions, peer review, and individual feedback sessions. Data were collected through observation, writing tests (pre-test and post-test), and documentation of students’ news texts. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ ability to identify news elements, organize information coherently, apply journalistic language features, and produce accurate and objective news texts. The average post-test scores increased compared to the pre-test results, and students demonstrated higher motivation and confidence in writing news. The study concludes that mentoring in news text writing is effective in enhancing students’ journalistic writing skills and can serve as an alternative model for strengthening writing instruction in higher education.

Abstract

This community service article aims to enhance students’ critical thinking skills and linguistic literacy through creative advertising writing training. The participants were fifth-semester students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The training employed a participatory approach consisting of lectures, discussions, practice sessions, and evaluations. Data were collected using questionnaires, writing tests, and observations. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ understanding of linguistic literacy concepts, diction accuracy, sentence effectiveness, and creativity in advertising texts. The training also fostered students’ awareness of ethical and persuasive language use. These findings demonstrate that literacy-based advertising writing training contributes positively to students’ academic and professional competencies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan kearifan lokal Sulawesi Selatan sebagai media pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara pada siswa SMP kelas VIII untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi mereka. Kearifan lokal yang diintegrasikan meliputi tradisi lisan seperti pappaseng (petuah), elong (syair), serta nilai-nilai siri' na pacce yang menjadi pedoman hidup masyarakat Bugis-Makassar. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi pembelajaran, wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan guru dan siswa, serta analisis dokumen hasil karya siswa. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengintegrasian kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran berbicara mampu meningkatkan motivasi siswa sebesar 78%, kepercayaan diri dalam berbicara meningkat 72%, dan kelancaran berbicara meningkat 65% dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. Siswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi ketika diminta menyampaikan pappaseng dengan bahasa mereka sendiri dan menceritakan pengalaman terkait nilai siri' na pacce. Meskipun terdapat tantangan seperti keterbatasan pemahaman awal siswa terhadap nilai-nilai lokal dan keberagaman latar belakang budaya, penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal tidak hanya meningkatkan kompetensi berbicara tetapi juga memperkuat identitas budaya dan karakter siswa. Implikasi pedagogis dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya revitalisasi kearifan lokal dalam kurikulum bahasa Indonesia sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan bermakna.

Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah 1). Untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran bahasa indonesia pada siswa kelas V, Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dan study dokumentasi. Objek penelitian ini adalah implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran bahasa indonesia. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru kelas V, kepala sekolah, dan siswa kelas V. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai karakter yang diperolah dari siswa yaitu religius, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, mandiri, kreatif, rasa ingin tahu, gemar membaca, bersahabat/komunikatif, dan tanggung jawab. Dengan adanya implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran bahasa indonesia pada siswa kelas V di SD Inpres Talaborong Kecamatan Bajeng barat Kabupaten Gowa dapat terlaksana dengan baik dan secara garis besar yaitu dengan adanya tindakan seperti: 1). Perencanaan pembelajaran, 2). Pelaksanaan pembelajaran, 3). Evaluasi pembelajaran. Faktor penghambat dan pendukung implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran bahasa indonesia pada siswa kelas V di SD Inpres Talaborong kecamatan Bajeng Barat Kabupaten Gowa Sulawesi Selatan. Sedangkan faktor pendukung dari implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran bahasa indonesia pada siswa kelas V di SD Inpres Talaborong Kecamatan Bajeng Barat Kabupaten Gowa adalah 1). Guru, 2). Pembinaan karakter di sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of the writing process in producing complex procedural texts through the implementation of the Think Talk Write (TTW) model assisted by digital media among eleventh-grade students. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore in depth the cognitive, social, and pedagogical dynamics occurring during the learning process. The participants consisted of one Indonesian language teacher and 50 eleventh grade students at UPTD SMPN 17 Marusu. Data were collected through participatory observation conducted over four instructional meetings, semi-structured interviews with the teacher and ten selected students, and document analysis of students’ writing before and after the implementation of the TTW model. Data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while credibility was ensured through technique triangulation, source triangulation, and member checking. The findings indicate that the implementation of TTW assisted by digital media transformed writing instruction from a product-oriented approach into a process oriented one. The think stage functioned as an initial cognitive structuring phase to organize ideas, the talk stage facilitated social construction of meaning through collaborative discussion, and the write stage served as a consolidation process resulting in more coherent and systematically structured texts. Digital media acted as pedagogical scaffolding that supported text visualization, clarified procedural components, and strengthened textual coherence. These findings highlight that integrating TTW with digital media effectively enhances productive literacy through a process based pedagogical design.
