Abstract

Self-regulation is an impulse from within (internal), which can lead to an individual's desire to determine or identify goals in life, plan strategies that will be carried out in achieving these goals, and evaluate and modify behavior. that will do. The purpose of this study was to find out how the description of self-regulation in students during online lectures at the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. The population selected in this study were all students from 5 faculties at the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo, totaling 11.914 students with the characteristics of active students, semester I – VIII, and taking online lectures. The total population in this study was 11.914, so that when viewed from the table Krejcie and Morgan, a sample of 375 people was obtained. This study uses a data collection technique in the form of a psychological scale, namely a self-regulation scale developed by the researcher through aspects of self-regulation according to Zimmerman (Ghofar, 2014) with a total of 54 statements in the form of a Likert scale. From the results of the validity test, 46 items were valid from 54 items. The result of the reliability test is 0.939. The results showed that students' self-regulation during online lectures at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo was generally in the moderate category. And the aspect of self-regulation that is most widely applied by students of Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo is the aspect of motivation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the delay of students in working on the thesis. The purpose of this study is to find out and provide an explanation of the description of the academic procrastination of students who are working on their thesis at the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. This research method is descriptive quantitative with the subject of students who are working on a thesis totaling 292 students. Determination of subjects using proportionate stratified random sampling technique is a sampling technique used when the population has members or elements that are not homogeneous and stratified proportionally. The variable in this study is academic procrastination. The data collection in this study used a psychological preparation scale, namely the Likert scale for the academic procrastination variable made by the researcher. Analysis of the data in this study using the help of Microsoft Excel. The results of data analysis showed that male students had higher procrastination than female students with an average score of 57.18, while female students had an average of 55.59. The results of the study when viewed from the Faculty show that the SAINTEK faculty has the highest level of academic procrastination among other faculties. The results of the study based on morning and evening classes showed that the evening class (56.6) had higher academic procrastination than the morning class (55.5).

Abstract

This quantitative correlational study investigates the relationship between self-regulation and role conflict among organizational students at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. Using a sample of 169 students, the research reveals a significant negative correlation (rho = -0.452, p < 0.001) between self-regulation and role conflict, indicating that higher levels of self-regulation are associated with lower perceived conflict in balancing academic and organizational roles. The implications suggest promoting self-regulation as a strategy to reduce role conflict and enhance overall well-being among organizational students, contributing to theoretical knowledge and guiding future research in understanding psychological attributes related to role conflict comprehensively. Highlight: Correlation found: self-regulation and role conflict among organizational students. Self-regulation can reduce conflict balancing academic and organizational roles. Abstract

This study explores the relationship between academic major satisfaction and academic adjustment among university students, recognizing the significance of adjustment for academic success and retention. With a focus on new students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, the research employs a quantitative correlational approach, utilizing scales to measure both major satisfaction and academic adjustment. Findings reveal a positive correlation (r = 0.531, p < 0.05) between major satisfaction and adjustment, suggesting higher satisfaction enhances adjustment. While major satisfaction contributes 25.1% to adjustment variance, other factors may influence the remaining 74.9%. The study underscores the importance of addressing major satisfaction to improve adjustment and suggests avenues for future research to expand on related variables like mental health and peer support.
