Abstract

Immunization coverage in every city/regency must be conducted in accordance with the standard coverage to suppress infectious diseases that can be prevented by vaccination. Temanggung regency is one of the cities/regencies in Central Java Province that have not reached 100% of village universal coverage immunization (UCI). The aim of this study was to determine the coverage of complete basic immunization in infants in Temanggung regency. The design of this study was descriptive observational with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The respondents of the research were parents having babies and the sample size was 520 children. The instrument used was the Rapid Card Check Form recommended by UNICEF. The results showed that there were still infants who had not been immunized. The reasons were that the infants had low birth weight, sick children during immunization, and no support from parents. As the immunization program aims to reduce infant and child mortality, parental awareness is important to increase immunization coverage in Temanggung regency.

Abstract

Early marriage, defined as formal or informal marriage before the age of 18, occurs widely throughout the world. Early marriage has a direct impact on girls' education, sexual and reproductive health, and psychological well-being. In this regard, the current review is conducted to examine the sexual and reproductive health consequences of child marriage. This research uses library research methods or literature research. Literature research is a systematic activity that involves various stages of collecting, processing, and summarizing data using certain methods to find solutions to problems. Early marriage as a result of poverty has many adverse consequences on girls' sexual and reproductive health including death in childbirth, physical and sexual violence, isolation, depression, cervical cancer and risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Teenage pregnant women have a higher risk of premature birth and more neonatal death than other women. Marriage of girls at an early age can increase the risk of sexual and reproductive complications. Therefore, training programs should be implemented to raise awareness of the community, parents, and religious leaders, to empower girls in this regard.

Abstract

In the midst of the global pandemic of the corona virus (covid-19), social media consumption has increased significantly, one of which is the use of the Tiktok application. Tik Tok has partnered with a number of international organizations to share health information, this can be an opportunity for TikTok to be used as an educational medium with creative content. In this qualitative descriptive study, sampling was carried out using consecutive sampling, namely sampling by determining certain criteria to determine the research sample, there were 5 Tik Tok accounts that were used as research samples, namely @tanyadokter, @unicefindonesia, @alodokter, @halodocID and @dijkp in total. 55 videos. This research was studied using the theory of the SMCR communication model by Berlo, namely the process of delivering a message from source to receiver. The results showed that the types of messages uploaded by these accounts were mostly educational message types, namely as much as 29%. The most responses received by the @alodokter account were 144323 from the total likes, comments and shares campaigning for good and correct hand washing. From the results of the analysis of the video content of Tik Tok, it turns out that the use of the caption, hashtag, music / audio and filter effects features is very influential in increasing the number of responses. Using the Tik Tok application provides excellent new benefits, where users are provided with videos that match their preferences and needs accurately because the Tik Tok account that has been researched has collaborated with the World Health Organization and the Indonesian Ministry of Health so that the information provided has been preserved.

Abstract

Handwashing with soap is the simplest way to prevent some infectious diseases such as diarrhea and hepatitis. Based on data from Health Profile in Purworejo District in 2015, it is known that the morbidity rate of diarrhea case in Banyuurip Public Health Center (PHC) is always higher than other PHCs in the same district. The purpose of this research is to analyze some factors related to practice of handwashing with soap in elementary schools, that are located in Banyuurip Public Health Center. This research is a quantitative study with descriptive analysis, using cross sectional approach. Samples of this research are 72 elementary school students located in Banyuurip Public Health Center, Purworejo. The result of this research showed that 68,1% of students practice handwashing with soap well and they used standardized tools,  such as using flowing water, soap, towels or wipes, and they had done 7 steps of handwashing with soap. This study showed that 31,9%  of students did not practice handwashing with soap well. Bivariate analysis showed that there are five variables related to handwashing with the soap i.e.: the knowledge about handwashing with soap (p-value = 0,019), attitude towards handwashing with soap (p-value = 0,009), teachers’ support (p-value = 0,005), peers’ support (p-value = 0,026), and availability of handwashing with soap facilities (p-value  = 0.046). It is suggested to the relevant authorities to give health education about handwashing with soap in order to increase the knowledge and positive attitude among students toward handwashing with soap. The school is expected to complete some tools in supporting handwashing with soap at school. The teachers are expected to increase their support to students in practicing handwashing with soap, and they are also expected to guide students to give support each other to practice handwashing with soap well.
