Abstract

UKS is an education and health effort that is carried out in an integrated, conscious, planned, directed, and responsible manner in instilling, growing, developing, and guiding to live, enjoy, and implement the principles of healthy life in the lives of everyday students (Ahmad Selvia, 2009: 1). Based on the problems and research objectives to be achieved, this type of research is preexperimental research in the form of a "one-group pre-post test" design. The target population in this study were all students and high school / MA students in the working area of Srono District, Banyuwangi Regency, amounting to 1,841 people. The sample in this study were some students and high school / MA students in the working area of Srono District, Banyuwangi District who met the inclusion criteria as many as 1,248 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study was Purposive sampling. From the results of the bivariate statistical test using the Wilcoxon Test analysis obtained p value <0.05 which is equal to 0,000. From the results of these calculations, it can be concluded that there is an influence between the formation of adolescent health cadres (KKR) on prevention efforts for juvenile delinquency in high school / MA / SMK level students in the Srono District work area in Banyuwangi Regency in 2016. Providing a good environment early on, along with an understanding of the development of our children well, will help reduce juvenile delinquency, so families, parents and the community are expected to be able to find a good strategy to protect their children from juvenile delinquency can damage their future.

Abstract

Introduction: Providing self-skills education and training to improve the ability of type II DM sufferers to carry out self-care management (DSME) including 8 important components and applying peer support to increase motivation and improve their health, avoid complications to early death. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Diabetes Self-Management Education on changes in blood glucose levels in patients with type II DM at Banyuwangi Regency in 2023. Method: Experimental research with the design of True Experimental Pretest pos-ttest control group design. The population were all type II DM patients who were treated regularly at the Klatak Public Health Center. A sample of 24 respondents in the control and 24 in the intervention groups used the MSD sample size formula. Respondents in this study were examined pre- & post-test venous plasma blood glucose levels. The sampling technique used is an RCT. Data analysis used SPSS 21 for Windows statistical T-test. Result: The paired T-test results indicated that the P-value for the intervention group was less than 0.05, specifically 0.000. It means Ha is accepted. So, the blood glucose levels differ before and after undergoing DSME with the Peer Support Group method. Then, with a significance value of 0.015 being less than 0.05, it can be inferred that there is a noteworthy difference. Statistical test results of the N-gain score in the intervention group were 50.3% in the Less Effective category, while in the control group was -4.4% in the Ineffective category. Conclusion: There is a significant mean difference between the two groups. The N-gain score test results in the intervention group were higher than control group. It is hoped that the implementation of DSME with the Peer Support Group will be more systematic, sustainable, and focused on changing behavior.

Abstract

The Aeromonas hydrophila (A. hydrophila) Aeromonas hydrophila (A. hydrophila) is an opportunistic pathogen causing significant losses in aquaculture. The overuse of antibiotics has led to antimicrobial resistance, necessitating alternative control strategies. This study evaluates the potential of coconut oil to inhibit A. hydrophila colonization in gills, brain, and gut microbiota of zebrafish while enhancing lactic acid bacteria (LAB) populations. A completely randomized design was used with five groups: a negative control (healthy), a positive control (A. hydrophila-infected), and three treatment groups (1000 mg/kg, 2000 mg/kg, 4000 mg/kg coconut oil) for 60 days. Bacterial load in gills and brain was quantified using the pour plate method on Rimler-Shotts agar, while LAB in the gut was assessed using de Man, Rogosa, and Sharpe Agar (MRSA). 1000 mg/kg coconut oil significantly reduced A. hydrophila in the gills (0.3 ± 0.09 × 10⁷ CFU/ml) compared to the positive control (138.13 ± 11.26 × 10⁷ CFU/ml). 4000 mg/kg was most effective in reducing A. hydrophila in the brain (1.78 ± 0.51 × 10⁷ CFU/ml vs. 4.53 ± 0.40 × 10⁷ CFU/ml in the positive control). LAB populations significantly increased (p < 0.0001), with the highest count at 1000 mg/kg (9.20 ± 0.87 × 10⁷ CFU/ml), followed by 2000 mg/kg (3.16 ± 0.13 × 10⁷ CFU/ml), and 4000 mg/kg (1.78 ± 0.35 × 10⁷ CFU/ml). Coconut oil effectively enhances LAB populations, inhibits A. hydrophila colonization, and acts as a natural antimicrobial and probiotic agent. The 1000 mg/kg dose is optimal for gut microbiota improvement, while 4000 mg/kg protects brain tissues, highlighting coconut oil’s potential as an eco-friendly alternative to antibiotics in aquaculture.

Abstract

Measles is an infectious disease that often occurs in children and is caused by the measles virus (morbillivirus) which can cause death. Thus, it is important to identify the factors that cause measles. The number of measles cases is used as response variable in the form discrete data so that Poisson Regression is commonly used. However, some assumptions are sometimes not met, such as overdispersion and excess zero so that can use Zero Inflated Poisson Regression to meet these assumptions. Because the model can overcome two common characteristics that are often found in count data, which are excess zero and overdispersion. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the number of measles cases in East Java. The data in the study used secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The predictor variables used were the number of population, percentage of vaccination, percentage of poor people, and percentage of adequate sanitation. The results showed that the data is overdispersed because the variance is greater than the mean. There were four predictor variables, The -value of the total population variable is <0.01, the percentage of vaccinations is 0.914, the percentage of poor people <0.01 and the percentage of proper sanitation is 0.014 so it can be concluded that the percentage of vaccinations has no effect on the number of measles cases and the other three variables affect the number of measles cases in East Java. The best model of affect the number of measles cases in East Java is Zero Inflated Poisson with AIC value 326.24. The ZIP model for measles case in East Java is .

Abstract

Logistic path analysis is used to analyze direct and indirect causal relationships between exogenous-endogenous variables with categorical data types. This study aims to apply logistic path analysis to ordinal categorical data and model the relationship between exogenous variables that affect nutritional status and physical status (stunting) in toddlers in Sumberputih Village, Wajak District. The data used is secondary data obtained from the results of filling out questionnaires in Sumberputih Village at the time of data collection in 2022-2023. The sample used in the study was 100 housewives who had toddlers. The sampling technique used was judgment sampling. However, the study only selected the variables of Birth Weight, Dietary Habits, Nutritional Status, and Physical Status (Stunting). The result of this study is that the variable of Birth Weight has a significant direct effect on Nutritional Status. The variable of Birth Weight has an indirect effect, and the total effect on Physical Status (Stunting) mediated by Nutritional Status is not significant. Meanwhile, the Diet variable has a significant direct effect on Physical Status. In addition, the Socioeconomic Condition variable can moderate the relationship between the Birth Weight variable and Physical Status. The diversity of data that can be explained by the model is 80.36%, while the rest is explained by other variables outside the model by 19.64%.

Abstract

This study explores how organizational culture and work discipline influence employee performance at the Regional Inspectorate of East Kalimantan Province. The research is driven by problems such as low employee initiative, poor internal communication, and delays in e-performance input. A quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis was applied. Data were collected through questionnaires from 86 respondents and analyzed using SPSS version 29. The findings show that both organizational culture and work discipline have a significant and positive effect on employee performance. Internal communication is the dominant aspect of culture, promoting coordination and a supportive work atmosphere. Discipline affects task completion quality and punctuality. The regression model indicates that 67.1% of performance variation is explained by these two variables. These results emphasize the importance of building strong cultural values and enforcing discipline to improve performance and accountability in public institutions.
