Abstract

Lack of students 'social skills makes students' mathematics learning less optimal. The learning model that is carried out is often not maximizing the learning process-oriented towards mathematical communication skills. This makes the teacher strive for a learning method or strategy to foster students' social skills and mathematical communication skills. The Pair Check method is one of the learning methods expected to train and improve students' social skills and mathematical communication skills. The subjects of this study were 24 students of class VII B MTs Riyadlul Ulum Bendungan. The results showed that: (1) students social skills had a percentage of 74.05% with the "most" criteria, which means that most of the students had quite good social skills. At the same time, students' mathematical communication skills have a percentage of 49.55% in the less category. (2) the application of the pair check method can improve students' social skills and mathematical communication. This can be seen from the post-tests average value, which is greater than the pretest, namely pretest < posttest or 13.88 < 19.58. (3) the application of the pair check method has implications for the social skills and mathematical communication skills of students at MTs Riyadlul Ulum Bendungan. This can be seen from the results of the questionnaire and the test results after the pair check method was applied. It was better than the questionnaire results, and the test results before the pair check method were applied

Abstract

The existence of technological advances in the field of education does not rule out the possibility of negative things arising from the existence of e-learning. For students, the negative impact of based e-learningis a decrease in the affective or character aspects. Technological progress should be a bridge for the progress of the nation, in education to overcome the shift in character in students is to make e-learning a medium for character building. E-learning can be integrated with the implementation of strengthening character education programs (SCE). The program is implemented to reduce cases of moral degradation that are currently occurring among the community, especially teenagers, to optimize the use of technology in learning mathematics, and to implementation of SCE in based e-learning. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The instruments used are a self-assessment scale, peer rating scale, and interview guidelines for managing character education strengthening for students at SMPN 3 Plered. The results obtained are that most of the students (97%) have religious character values, honesty, responsibility, curiosity, discipline, independence, communicativeness, and tolerance. The obstacle experienced when implementation SCE in mathematics learning based e-learningis teachers and students lack of understanding and awareness regarding character education. Efforts made to minimize the obstacles experienced are to provide an understanding of character education for teachers and students, as well as provide direction to students who still do not have the awareness to instill character values in themselves.

Banana “Rejang” originates from Rejang Lebong Regency in Bengkulu Province, Sumatra, at elevations ranging from 600 to 700 meters above sea level. Banana “Rejang” is known for its sweet taste, high fibre in the pseudo stems, resistance to Fusarium spp., with slender and long fruits, and tapering fruit tips. This study aims to examine the phenological patterns of Rejang bananas and establish appropriate harvest criteria using the heat unit method. A descriptive research design was employed to illustrate the phenological development during the generative phase without external treatments. A total of 25 Rejang banana plants were observed and measured, spanning the developmental stages from flag leaf emergence to flowering and fruiting. Data were collected daily at 7:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. The average daily temperature was recorded to calculate heat units in degrees Celsius (°C). Phenological development begins with the emergence of the flag leaf at 102 days after planting, corresponding to an accumulated heat unit of 1,800-degree days. Flower initiation occurs at 134 days after planting, with 2,330-degree days accumulated as heat units. The period from flower initiation to anthesis lasts approximately 4 days, followed by a period of 4 days after anthesis (DAA). Bract opening occurs 3 DAA, followed by bract rolling at 7 DAA and banana heart emergence at 10 DAA. The bunch stalk forms 7 days after anthesis, after the banana heart emerges. Fertilization occurs 165 days after planting (DAP), with a total heat unit accumulation of 2,833 degree-days. This stage involves the formation of the bunch stalk and the emergence of the fruit cluster, which occurs 5 DAA. The rachis appears at 5 days after anthesis, and fruit development is reached at 12 DAA after rachis emergence. The optimal harvest.

Abstract

Abstract

Learning environments with high-pressure demands require students to possess resilience as a crucial capacity to adapt and persist through academic and social challenges. However, a lack of resilience among students often emerges as a fundamental issue that affects their learning outcomes and well-being. Resilience is influenced by several internal factors, particularly emotional health and learning readiness. This study aims to examine the influence of emotional health and learning readiness on student resilience in social studies learning. Employing a quantitative approach with a fact-exposure (ex post facto) design, the study uses multiple regression analysis to determine the relationship among variables. The sample consists of 76 junior high school students selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that (1) emotional health significantly affects student resilience, as indicated by a t-value of 2.621 and a p-value of 0.011; (2) learning readiness has a stronger significant influence on resilience, with a t-value of 11.703 and a p-value of 0.001; and (3) jointly, emotional health and learning readiness positively affect student resilience in social studies learning, as evidenced by an F-value of 112.909 and a significance level of 0.001. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.756, indicating that 75.6% of the variance in student resilience is explained by the two predictors. These results imply that educators and school institutions should prioritize strategies that enhance students' emotional well-being and preparedness to learn, in order to strengthen their resilience and support their academic success in demanding learning contexts
