Abstract

Minyak atsiri merupakan material yang mudah mengalami degradasi akibat adanya oksigen, cahaya, dan temperatur tinggi. Untuk mengatasi hal tesebut perlu dilakukan enkapsulasi. Maltodekstrin dan β-siklodekstrin merupakan jenis penyalut yang baik dalam enkapsulasi minyak atsiri. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan enkapsulasi minyak kemangi menggunakan maltodekstrin dan β-siklodekstrin sebagai penyalut, dengan perbandingan 1:1, 2:1 dan 1:2 yang dilarutkan dengan etanol 70%. Minyak kemangi yang digunakan diperoleh dari destilasi uap air daun kemangi, kemudian dianalisis dengan GC-MS. Proses enkapsulasi menggunakan metode pengeringan beku. Produk mikrokapsul dikarakterisasi menggunakan SEM. Analisis GC-MS menunjukkan bahwa minyak kemangi mengandung senyawa E-sitral (32,93%), Z-sitral (23,96%), linalool, isokariofillen, α-humulen, dan kariofilen oksida. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mikrokapsul yang memiliki controlled release paling baik adalah sampel C (Maltodekstrin:β-siklodekstrin = 1:2). Mikrokapsul minyak kemangi berupa serbuk putih kekuningan, tidak menggumpal, dan memiliki bau khas kemangi. Hasil SEM menunjukkan ukuran rata-rata mikrokapsul yang dihasilkan sebesar < 2μm.

Abstract

ρ-Menthane-3,8-diol (PMD) has been synthesized from citronellal with citric acid catalyst through a cyclization process by stirring and heating. Citric acid is used as a substitute for sulfuric acid in PMD because it is cheap, safe and is an effective alternative to synthesis. The result of PMD synthesis from citronellal by 5 g citronellal; 7 g of citric acid solution 10%; for 8 hours stirring at 50o temperature were obtained 71.15% yield; 100.00% conversion; and 71.15% selectivity. PMD gel air freshener is made using PMD then formulated with carrageenan as a gelling agent with PMD variations. The higher PMD content in gel increase the water holding capacity. The best mosquito repellent strength was obtained from PMD gel with 15% PMD which has the greatest mosquito repellent strength in 60 minute (65.00%).

Abstract

Isopulegol is a highly volatile compound. One method for preserving highly volatile compounds is electrospinning. One of the factors that influence electrospinning stability is matrix composition. In this study, isopulegol-PVA nanofiber with a variety of matrix compositions is made by electrospinning techniques to determine the effect of matrix composition on the characteristics of nanofiber and the comparison of isopulegol peak area on the best nanofiber. Making solutions according to predetermined composition. The solution was electrospinning by setting a 10 mL syringe which has a metal needle with 0.6 mm inner diameter. Electrospinning parameters are adjusted, such as the voltage is 18 kV and the distance of the needle tip to the collector is 10 cm. The results of nanofiber were analyzed using FTIR-ATR and SEM. Based on the research, the composition of PVA-maltodextrin-isopulegol (1:1) nanofiber is better than PVA-maltodextrin-isopulegol (1:2) nanofiber. The composition of PVA- β -cyclodextrin-isopulegol (1:2) nanofiber produces better fiber than PVA- β-cyclodextrin-isopulegol(1:1) nanofiber. The diameter of the resulting PVA nanofiber is 92,891 nm; PVA-maltodextrin-isopulegol (1:1) nanofiber is 94.02 nm; and the PVA- β -cyclodextrin-isopulegol (1:2) nanofiber is 100,242 nm. The results of the comparison of isopulegol peak area from the best isopulegol nanofiber (PVA- β -cyclodextrin-isopulegol (1:2)) are unstable

Abstract

Nanofibers are fibers with diameters in the nanometer range. In this study, PVA/ME and PVA/ME/β-CD nanofibers membrane are made by electrospinning method to determine the effect of matrix composition on the characteristics of the nanofibers and their activity as a Drosophila melanogaster attractant. PVA, Methyl Eugenol 98%, and β-Cyclodextrin were used for the electrospinning process. To get the best fibers morphology, the concentration of the sample was varied β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) (30% and 61%), methyl eugenol (5%, 10%, and 12%). The PVA concentration was prepared (was kept) at 12%. The ratio of β-CD and methyl eugenol was set at 1:1; 1:2; and 2:1. The electrospinning parameters were adjusted as 15 kV applied voltage, 10 cm tip-to-collector distance, and 0.5 mm inner diameter of the metallic needle. The average diameter of nanofibers PVA is 92 ± 890 nm. The average diameter of nanofibers PVA/ME is 95±10 nm. The average diameter of nanofibers PVA/ME/β-CD is 100 ± 150 nm. The result of IR spectra shows that PVA and β-CD matrix can trap methyl eugenol compounds as seen from the groups of C=C, –OCH3, and –CH=CH2. Attractant test showed that nanofiber PVA/ME/β-CD is the best product of nanofiber because it has the smallest number of beads and has the maximum activity that can trap the fruit flies with a total amount of 71 flies in a week

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui adanya pengaruh positif penerapan mindscaping bervisi SETS dalam pembelajaran Kimia SMA terhadap pencapaian kompetensi larutan penyangga. Seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA N 1 Kota Mungkid tahun ajaran 2011/2012 adalah populasi dari penelitian ini. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik purposive sampling menghasilkan kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan the nonequivalent control group design. Metode pengambilan data dilakukan dengan berbagai cara yaitu dokumentasi, tes, angket, dan observasi . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada kelompok eksperimen mencapai ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 97% sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol mencapai 87%. Hasil analisis aspek afektif dan psikomotorik menunjukkan rata-rata hasil belajar afektif dan psikomotorik kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelompok control.Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan mindscaping bervisi SETS ini berpengaruh positif terhadap pencapaian kompetensi siswa dalam pokok materi larutan penyangga. Besarnya pengaruh yang diberikan metode ini adalah 34% dengan korelasi biserial positif yang tergolong sedang.Abstract:This research aims to find a positive effect on mindscaping application that features SETS (Science, Environment, Technology and Society ) visions in chemistry learning of high school to the competence achievement of buffer solution. The population of this study was the XI IPA students of  SMA N 1 Kota Mungkid in the academic year 2011/2012. Sampling was purposive sampling technique determine a class XI IPA 3 as the experimental group and class XI IPA 1 as the control group. The design of this research used the nonequivalent control group design. This study used some method documentation, tests, questionnaires, and observation. Results of the study showed that students' cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental group achieved classical completeness 97%, whereas in the control group reached 87%. The analysis results of the affective and psychomotor aspects showed that the average learning outcomes of affective and psychomotor experimental group were higher than the control group. Based on the results of study, it can be concluded that the mindscaping application that feature SETS vision had positive effect to the students competencies achievement in the subject buffer solution. The magnitude of the impact  this method is 34 % with a positive biserial correlation is medium.

Abstract

Students must have critical thinking ability and utilize ICT in the learning process to face the challenges of 21st century learning. Likewise, in biology learning accompanied by contextual learning related to everyday life such as the concept of environmental change. Technological developments also need to be maximally utilized in the learning process by flipped classroom learning. This study aims to know the increase in students' critical thinking ability towards flipped classroom learning model. This research method used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design. The subjects of this study included students of class XMIPA 1 and XMIPA 2 at SMAN 1 Palimanan. The results showed that there is a difference in the increase in critical thinking ability between the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class has a higher N-gain than the control class. The independent sample T test hypothesis test shows that the N-Gain significance value is less than the alpha value, which means that there is a significant difference in critical thinking skills between the experimental class and the control class. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that flipped classroom learning can increase students' critical thinking ability in environmental change material.

Abstract

The learning model is fundamental to increase the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Learning models that make students more active in the chemistry teaching and learning process in class XI SMA N 1 Comal are rarely used. As a result, students become passive and scientific attitudes and student creativity have not developed. This study aims to determine : the process of implementing problem-based learning (PBL), the effectiveness of PBL on acid-base material in high school, increasing the scientific attitude and creativity of class XI SMA students. The research design used was a pretest-postest control group with a quasi experimental design. This study’s population was all students of class XI SMA N 1 Comal in the academic year 2020/2021. The sample was taken using simple random sampling technique and selected class XI MIPA 5 as the control class and XI MIPA 6 as the experimental class. Data collection techniques used documentation in the form of pretest and postest scores, scientific attitude observation sheets and questionnaires to measure student creativity. The data analysis technique used is the t-test. The results showed that the average posttest score of students in the experimental class were higher than the average posttest score of students in the control class. The percentage of students with a high scientific attitude in the experimental class is also more remarkable than the control class. The creativity category with a very creative category in the experimental class shows a more significant percentage than the control class. From the analysis results, it can be concluded that first, the application of PBL starts from problem orientation, group organizing, conducting experiments, presenting work results, and evaluating. The second is the problem based learning model provides excellent results and is quite effective compared to conventional methods. Third, PBL models can improve student’s scientific attitudes and creativity compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ mathematical representation ability in word problems with learning cycle 7e based on cognitive style. The research method is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory model. The population of this study was students of class XII SMA Negeri 7 Semarang in the academic year 2020/2021 with class XII MIPA 3 as the experimental class, and class XII MIPA 2 as the control class. The data were collected using tests, documentation, questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The quantitative data were tested using the average test, the proportion test, the average difference test, the different proportions test, and the linear regression test, while the qualitative data were tested with data validity, data reduction, data representation, and draw a conclusion. Students with field-independent category were able to present ideas or information from a representation, create equations or mathematical models (mathematical ideas) from representation that had been made, complete tasks involving mathematical equations or models, write representations of solving mathematical problems in words. Students with field-dependent category were able to present ideas or information from a representation, create equations or mathematical models (mathematical ideas) from the representations that had been made.

Abstract

Keaktifan siswa, baik keaktifan dalam mengikuti pelajaran maupun keaktifan berfikir sangat mempengaruhi pemahaman siswa terhadap pokok materi. Kenyataan di SMA N 3 Rembang, keaktifan siswa masih rendah. Hal ini mengakibatkan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Untuk menghindari hal tersebut diperlukan metode pembelajaran yang bervariasi, salah satunya Metode Pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa kelas XI melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi pokok Larutan Penyangga. Populasi dalam penelitian eksperimen ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 3 Rembang. Penentuan sampel dengan sistem Cluster random sampling, dan diperoleh kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang mendapat perlakuan menggunakan metode inkuiri terbimbing dan XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol yang mendapatkan perlakuan menggunakan metode konvensional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil ketuntasan belajar klasikal kelompok eksperimen sebesar 88% dan kelompok kontrol sebesar 17%. Rata-rata nilai post-test kelas eksperimen sebesar 75,42 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 54,58. Hasil pengamatan pada aspek keaktifan siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 85,88% dan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 78,70%. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode inkuiri terbimbing mempunyai hasil belajar dan keaktifan yang lebih tinggi dari pada siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan metode konvensional.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar dalam materi hidrokarbon dan minyak bumi siswa kelas X setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran E-Learning berbasis Chemo-Edutainment. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA N 4 Semarang tahun 2012. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling.. Setelah dikenai perlakuan yang berbeda pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol diketahui rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen 81,91 dan kelas kontrol 76,28. Untuk uji ketuntasan belajar didapat pada kelas eksperimen thitung>ttabel yaitu 10,96 dari ttabel 2,03. Pada kelompok Kontrol juga di dapat thitung>ttabel yaitu 7,4 dari ttabel 2,03. Pada uji peningkatan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih unggul dengan peningkatan nilai sebesar 44,41 sedangkan kelas kontrol 38,94. Pada uji sigifikansi pos tesdua kelas didapat hasil- ttabel>thitung>ttabel yaitu pada -12,70<7,62 <12,70.   Abstract This study aims to determine the improvement of learning outcome in the matter of hydrocarbon and petroleum from class X after using E-Learning instructional media based Chemo-Edutainment. Population study was SMAN 4 Semarang class X. Sampling using Purposive Random Sampling. Following are treated differently in the experiment known to average learning result experimental class and control class   and control classes are 76.28 and 81.91. The mastery of learning test obtained in the experiment class thitung > ttable they are 10.96 from 2.03. In the control group also obtained thitung > ttableis 7.4 out of t table 2.03. In the increase learning outcomes test experiments class leading with increasing value of 44.41 while the control class 38.94.
