Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan kognitif anak. Hal ini diduga disebabkan oleh kurang menariknya media yang digunakan oleh guru Dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak melalui permainan Ludo di paud Kijang rejo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas menggunakan pembelajaran secara kelompok dengan subjek penelitian peserta didik Paud Kijang Rejo pada kelompok usia 5-6 tahun yang berjumlah 19 peserta didik pada semester II tahun ajaran 2017-2018. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang masing-masing   3 kali hasil pertemuan dilaksanakan di PAUD Kijang Rejo kecamatan Tapung kabupaten Kampar. Teknik pengumpulan data   menggunaka observasi. Meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik melalui permainan tradisional ludo, Sebelum dilakukan penelitian dengan persentase 31,9%, siklus I mengalami peningkatan dengan persentase 58,7%, dan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan lagi dengan persentase 77,1%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui permainan tradisional Ludo dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia dini 5-6 tahun dalam aspek mengenal bentuk geometri, mengenal bilangan, dan mengelompokkan warna.

Abstract

This study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective reading materials based on visual information for the English Education Program. The study is motivated by the lack of reading materials that utilize visual information in English language learning. The research uses the ADDIE development model, with data collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS software. The results show that: (1) in the analysis phase, a pressing need for the development of reading materials based on visual information to improve students' reading skills was identified; (2) in the design phase, the learning materials and visual information design received excellent ratings in accordance with the curriculum requirements and student characteristics; (3) in the development phase, the visual information book and its supporting system met high criteria for validity, practicality, and effectiveness; (4) in the implementation phase, the application of visual information had a positive impact on improving students' reading skills; (5) effectiveness testing showed that the use of visual information in reading skill learning was effective, with the t-test results showing that the t-value (4.697) was greater than the t-table value (1.69) and the significance level was less than 0.05 (0.000). In conclusion, the use of reading materials based on visual information has been proven to improve students' reading skills, showing a significant difference between the experimental group using visual information and the control group not using visual information

Abstract

This experimental research was carried out in class X  at  SMA Muhammadiyah Bangkinang Kota. This research aims to determine the effect of duolingo game as extramural English towards students vocabulary Mastery  at SMA Muhammadiyah Bangkinang. The research methodology uses a quasi-experimental design. The sample for this research consisted of 53 students, namely 29 students in class X Science two  and 24 ostudents in class X Social. Data collection techniques include tests and documentation. Data were analyzed using SPSS 16. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that Duolingo Game can improve the Vocabulary  Mastery  of class X Science two students at SMA Muhammadiyah Bangkinang Kota as Extramural English  . With an average posttest score of 86,42 and Paired T Test results with a significance level of 5% obtained Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,001 0,05 Therefore, it can be seen that ρ α, meaning that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This proves that duolingo game has a significant effect on students' ability to improve English vocabulary in tenth grade.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the problems in writing narrative text for class XI students of SMAN 1 Koto Kampar Hulu, describing the problems faced by students in write narrative texts, and provide solutions or ways to overcome problems faced by students. This study uses a qualitative description method. Technique data collection was obtained by using interview techniques and documentation, and the data obtained were analyzed using Triangulation data sources and method triangulation. The results showed that in writing narrative text, in class XI students of SMAN 1 Koto Kampar Hulu carried out based on 2013 curriculum, class XI English learning syllabus, and carried out according to the English lesson plan for narrative text teaching materials. The problems faced in writing narrative texts are: teacher teaching to students is not optimal, students' motivation is low in writing narrative text, How to overcome these difficulties is that teachers are given training and guidance regarding learning and students are given attention, motivation to be active in learning

Abstract

Lack of reference, guidelines, facilities, time and place of practice English become the problems of this research. This study aims to develop textbook based on social media which is used in Speaking Class at English Study Program. The research adapted some steps of the development by Ploomp which included Need Analysis, Self-Evaluation, Expert Review, Small Group Evaluation, Field Test, and assessment phase. The product of this research is a textbook which consisted of fourteen chapters. Each chapter applied speaking activities through social media. The materials written based on social media and taught by using social media included; Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, and Youtube. The textbook is developed and implemented based on social media in accordance with the competency standards set in the curriculum of department. The training materials and activities by using social media strongly guide students to practice English and provide a different atmosphere in the learning process.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia melalui teknik pemberian hadiah di kelas IV SDN 008 Langgini Kabupaten Kampar, yang dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah apakah melalui teknik pemberian hadiah dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di kelas IV SDN 008 Langgini Kabupaten Kampar? Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV tahun pelajaran 2015-2016 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 35 orang, yang terdiri dari 20 orang laki-laki, dan 15 orang perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan teknik observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahwa aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dengan penerapan teknik pemberian hadiah di siklus I masih banyak yang harus diperbaiki pada siklus II, sedangkan pada siklus II guru dan siswa telah melaksanakan proses pembelajaran dengan sangat baik, tahap demi tahap penerapan teknik Ego-Involvement dapat terlaksana dengan sangat baik. Meningkatnya aktivitas guru dan siswa pada siklus II disebabkan guru telah menindaklanjuti kekurangan-kekurangan yang terjadi pada siklus sebelumnya dan memperbaikinya dengan pada siklus II. Sedangkan motivasi belajar siswa pada siklus I masih tergolong rendah, walaupun terjadi peningkatkan tingkat motivasi belajar siswa dari pra tindakan. Di siklus II diketahui bahwa: 1) siswa hadir dengan tepat waktu, dan tidak pernah keluar masuk kelas jika tidak terlalu penting. 2) Siswa sangat termotivasi untuk menjawab pertanyaan guru, walaupun jawaban mereka salah. 3) siswa sangat berkosentrasi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, karena siswa mampu mengulang penjelasan guru yang telah disampaikan.

Abstract

This study investigated the presence of meaningful relationships between the  indicators of self-efficacy, including self-efficacy in language, self-efficacy in organization, self-efficacy in grammar, self-efficacy in content, self-efficacy in process and on self efficacy writing scale, including ideation, organization, grammar & spelling, use of English writing, and self-efficacy for self-regulation. Convenience sampling was employed to select 100 students who attended seven different courses at the University of Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. The data of this study were analyzed descriptively through data concentration and distribution, pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. The findings revealed that several self-efficacy indicators namely, SEL, SEO, SEG, SEC, and SEP did not correlate with Ideation (ID), Organization (ORG), Grammar and Spelling (GS), use of English Writing (EW), and Self efficacy for Self Regulation (SR). Abstract

Era digitalisasi mempengaruhi karakteristik peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Kedekatan peserta didik dengan aplikasi teknologi memunculkan ketertarikan yang tinggi dengan hadirnya teknologi dalam pembelajaran dalam bentuk media pembelajaran. Di lain sisi, kehadiran teknologi merupakan tantangan bagi para. Ketidakfamiliaran guru dalam mengoperasikan aplikasi digital, pengalaman pembelajaran konvensional, ketidaktersediaan fasilitas pendukung, serta terbatasnya informasi pemahaman dan penggunaan teknologi menjadi alasan guru belum menggunakan media pembelajaran digital. Fenomena ini menarik perhatian sekolah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, sekolah menginisiasi pelatihan media pembelajaran berbasis digital. Materi pelatihan yang diberikan berupa pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Canva, Screencast O’matic dan Kahoot sebagai aplikasi pembuatan media ajar. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah agar guru di SMA N 1 XIII Koto Kampar mampu merancang media pembelajaran mandiri berbasis digital yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan kegiatan pembelajaran pada lingkungan setempat. Sejumlah 17 orang guru menjadi peserta pada kegiatan pelatihan media pembelajaran digital. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan dengan pemberian pengetahuan dilanjutkan dengan praktik mandiri. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan media pembelajaran yang diberikan memberikan manfaat teoritis dan manfaat praktis. Berdasarkan angket yang disebarkan pada akhir kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa secara teoritis, 57.35% peserta mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang aplikasi media pembelajaran yang diajarkan dan secara praktis 55, 87% peserta menyatakan mampu menghasilkan media pembelajaran yang telah diajarkan. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam kegiatan diantaranya support fitur laptop tidak mendukung, akses jaringan internet sulit, dan ketidakfamiliaran peserta dalam penggunaan aplikasi.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a critical component of academic achievement, yet many English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners face challenges in processing complex texts. This study investigates the impact of visual information-based reading materials on improving comprehension among Indonesian EFL university students. A mixed-methods, cross-sectional design was employed over three academic semesters. A total of 228 students were assigned to either an experimental group, which received reading materials incorporating visual elements, or a control group, which received text-only materials. Quantitative data were collected using standardized comprehension assessments, while qualitative insights were gathered through student reflections and interviews. The experimental group demonstrated significantly higher performance in literal comprehension compared to the control group (p 0.05, Cohen’s d = 0.81), indicating a large effect size. Qualitative data reinforced these findings, revealing that visual aids enhanced student engagement, understanding, and information retention. The integration of visual elements into reading materials effectively supports comprehension in EFL contexts. Visual information appears to reduce cognitive load and facilitate meaning-making, particularly in learners processing texts in a non-native language. Visual-enhanced reading materials significantly improve literal comprehension among Indonesian EFL university students. These findings underscore the importance of incorporating visual literacy strategies in EFL pedagogy and call for further research into interactive and digital visual tools to support reading comprehension.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of concepts in the Pancasila Education subject through the implementation of instructional videos. The research was conducted as a Classroom Action Research (CAR) at Grade V of SDN 013 Kumantan over two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The research subjects were 12 students. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the use of instructional videos significantly enhanced students’ comprehension. In Cycle I, the percentage of students achieving mastery increased from 41.67% (pre-action) to 66.67%, and further increased to 100% in Cycle II. This improvement was also reflected in the students' average scores and active participation during the lessons. The conclusion of this research is that the use of instructional videos effectively and engagingly improves students’ understanding of Pancasila Education. Therefore, video-based learning media is highly recommended as an alternative tool to reinforce conceptual understanding and character education in primary schools.
