Abstract

This study aims to develop the the teaching and learning model of kalam (conversation) based on phonetic accuracy to improve students’ ability in speaking Arabic. The research was conducted through questionnaires, interviews, error analysis, and content analysis. The results of the study described as follows. There are two forms of phonetic errors in student’s pronunciation, namely the segmental and supra-segmental errors; most of the teachers and students did not care to the phonetic errors on students speech; however, most of them consider that it is important to have a special emphasis on the phonetic element  in learning kalam; the teaching material subjects of kalam used all this time did not emphasize  specifically on phonetic accuracy; and the teachers and students suggested that the textbook of kalam be completed with special training of phonetic accuracy and be done early. Based on these results, the teaching and learning models of kalam need to be designed

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini membahas tentang pola pengembangan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler bahasa Arab di lembaga pengembangan bahasa Asing (LPBA) pondok pesantren Nurul jadid Paiton Probolinggo. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) Jenis kegiatan ekstrakurikuler bahasa Arab di LPBA Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo, 2) Perencanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler bahasa Arab, 3) Pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler bahasa Arab, dan 4) Evaluasi kegiatan ekstrakurikuler bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data kualitatif dalam penelitian ini meliputi kegiatan-kegiatan ekstrakurikuler bahasa Arab. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah pengurus inti dan peserta didik di LPBA. Instrumennya adalah peneliti sendiri (human instrument). Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui hasil penyebaran angket, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Adapun langkah-langkah analisis data penelitian adalah (1) Klasifikasi data dan pejelasannya, peneliti menyusun data setelah mengumpulkannya berdasarkan tujuan penelitian berupa bentuk deskriptif kualitatif, (2) Mengemukakan data, (3) Penyajian dan penjelasan data sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian, dan (4) Kesimpulan. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan beberapa hal yang menjadi jawaban dari rumusan masalah penelitian ini, yaitu (1) Jenis kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang diikuti oleh peserta didik tingkatan ula dan wushta khususnya wilayah Az-Zainiyah Al-Bayan terdapat dua belas kegiatan, (2) Perencanaan kegiatan terdiri dari organisasi peserta didik, kurikulum, susunan jadwal, tema kegiatan, dan peraturan tata tertib, (3) Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan setiap malam hari setelah kegiatan belajar mengajar (KBM) dan hari Jum’at mulai pagi sampai malam. Kegiatan ini bertempat di depan asrama dan di gedung SMP putri, dan (4) Evaluasi kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam satu bulan sekali dengan tujuan untuk menemukan solusi dalam masalah yang dialami oleh peserta didik. Selanjutnya bagi (1) pengurus Nahdlatuth Tholabah (NATO) diharapkan untuk menyesuaikan waktu yang sudah terjadwal agar peserta didik lebih maksimal dalam melaksanakan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. (2) peserta didik diharapkan untuk sering membiasakan mendengarkan hiwar atau percakapan bahasa Arab dari orang Arab asli, agar dapat menerapkan percakapan sehari-hari dengan fushah. (3) Bagi peneliti selanjutnya dapat melakukan penelitian pola pengembangan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler di instansi lain dengan menggunakan teknik penelitian yang lebih variatif dan inovatif, dengan kurun waktu yang lebih lama guna menyempurnakan penelitian ini. Disamping itu, penelitian ini juga bisa dijadikan rujukan dan perbandingan untuk penelitian-penelitian di masa mendatang, khususnya jurusan sastra Arab Universitas Negeri Malang. ملخص البحث: يتركز هذا البحث العلمي على خطة تطوير البرنامج الإضافي باللغة العربية في مركز ترقية اللغة الأجنبية بمعهد نور الجديد بيطان برابالنجا. وهذا البرنامج من أحد البرامج الفعالة في ترقية المهارة اللغوية لدى التلميذات، وفقا على الإنجازات المحصولة في كل المسابقات الموجودة داخل المعهد أو خارجه. وهذا مما يدفع الباحثة للعمل بهذا البحث. وأما أهداف هذا البحث العلمي فهي وصف: نوع البرنامج الإضافي باللغة العربية في مركز ترقية اللغة الأجنبية بمعهد نور الجديد بيطان برابالنجا.  وتخطيط البرنامج الإضافي باللغة العربية. وأداء البرنامج الإضافي باللغة العربية. وتقويم البرنامج الإضافي باللغة العربية. يستخدم هذا البحث العلمي المنهج الكيفي بمفهوم الدراسة الحالة. البيانات فيه تحتوي على البرامج الإضافية باللغة العربية. والأداة اهذا البحث هي الباحثة نفسها. وطريقة جمع البيانات هي الاستبانات والمقابلة الشخصية والملاحظة والطريقة الوثائقية. ينتج هذا البحث العلمي على نوع البرنامج الإضافي لدى التلميذات من المرحلة الأولى إلى المرحلة الوسطى خاصة " في سكن البيان بولاية الزينية"  الذي يتكون من اثني عشر برنامجا، و تخطيط البرنامج الإضافي يتكون من منظمة التلميذات ومنهج التعليم والجدول والنظام،  وأداء البرنامج الإضافي كل ليلة بعد برنامج التعليم وأما في يوم الجمعة فيؤدى من الصباح حتى الليل. ومكان هذا البرامج أمام السكن وبعض الفصول في المدرسة المتوسطة للبنات، وتقويم البرنامج الإضافي كل شهر مرة واحدة، قصدا لحل المشكلات في جميع البرامج. يمكن إجراء البحث عن خطة تطوير البرنامج الإضافي في مكان أخر بطريقة البحث المتنوعة والمخترعة لتكميل هذا البحث العلمي. إضافة إلى ذلك، كان هذا البحث العلمي مرجعا ودراسة مقارنة للباحثين والباحثات في المستقبل. This study discusses the development of Arabic extracurricular activities in the foreign language development institute (LPBA) of Nurul Jadid boarding school in Probolinggo. The purpose of this study is to describe the types of Arabic extracurricular activities at LPBA Nurul Jadid in Probolinggo, the planning of Arabic extracurricular activities, the implementation of Arabic extracurricular activities, and the evaluation of Arabic extracurricular activities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. The source of this research data is the core administrators and students at LPBA Nurul Jadid. Data collection techniques are through polling, interviews, observations, and documentation. The study results reveal that there are twelve activities of the type of extracurricular activities attended by the students of ula and wushta level, especially the area of Az-Zainiyah Al-Bayan. Then, the planning of activities consists of students' organization, curriculum, schedule arrangement, the theme of activities, and rules of conduct. Extracurricular activities are carried out every night after teaching learning process and Friday activities are from morning to evening in front of the dormitories and the junior high school building. The evaluation of extracurricular activities is carried out once a month to find a solution to students' problems. Hopefully, this study provides knowledge for further research, especially in the Arabic literature department of Malang State University.

Abstract

This study was conducted to meet the needs of Nahwu textbooks in Islamic boarding schools based on the scaffolding-structure based on the Al-Ajurumiyyah Al-Qur’aniyyah book by adhering to the applicable Nahwu principle. The research method used is ADDIE model development research This textbook has innovations in the form of a comprehensive concept map, the application of scaffolding theory with sentence patterns from examples of verses of the Qur’an, and a quick response code containing interesting learning content. The textbook is very valid and can be implemented after going through the validation test with the presentation of the results of material validation 95.45%, media validation 89.18%, and validation of learning 95.92%. The effectiveness test with paired t-test shows that the book being developed has a significant effect on student learning.

Abstract

Greeting words are the most widely used words in daily communication. Many greetings are taken from the kinship term. Each language has different kinship terms based on its culture. This study aims to describe (1) the Arabic kinship term, (2) the Indonesian kinship term, and (3) the similarities and differences between the Arabic and Indonesian kinship terms. This research is a qualitative research with contrastive and anthropolinguistic analysis approaches. The data of this research are the vocabulary of kinship terms in Arabic and Indonesian which are taken from various sources. The results are (1) Arabic kinship terms are more varied than Indonesian, (2) Arabic kinship terms have syntactic markers to distinguish between terms for male and female, (3) based on the patrilineal system applies to the Arab community, Arabic distinguishes between terms for father's line and mother's line, (4) in Indonesian, there are terms that are differentiated by age, (5) in terms of nature, the kinship term in Arabic is descriptive, while in Indonesian is descriptive and classified, (6) the terms of kinship in Arabic and Indonesian can be addressed to non-relatives so that both can be metaphorical.

Abstract

The general objective of this research is to examine the relevance of the rules of assimilation in Arabic with religious, social values. This study uses a qualitative approach with an ethnolinguistic approach. The data were collected through in-depth and repeated reading of the Arabic language's assimilation rules, which allegedly contained social religious values. The data is taken from two syntax books, Alfiyah Ibn Malik and Jami'ud Duru:s al-Arabiyyah. Data analysis steps include classification, reduction, verification, and inference. The study results indicate a relevance between the morphophonemic rules of assimilation in Arabic and social, religious values. These values include (1) making it easy and not making it difficult, (2) prioritizing the core over the extra, (3) the strong tend to beat the weak, (4) being willing to sacrifice for harmony, (5) choosing the lightest harm, and (6) willingness to adapt in society. The relevance between Arabic morphophonemic rules and socio-cultural values reinforces the ethnolinguistic theory. The language dimension can describe society's social and cultural dimensions and social structure

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Arabic conversation textbook at the Islamic Boarding School Themes For Students of Al Kamal Islamic Boarding School Blitar, East Java. The development is a solution of unavailability textbook to speak daily Arabic in Islamic boarding schools. This study uses the ADDIE development model. The subjects of the product trial were class 1D students at the Al Kamal Islamic Boarding School. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The result of this research is a daily Arabic conversation book entitled "Hiwaruna" for learning speaking skills at the Al Kamal Islamic Boarding School Blitar. This book contains themes that are closely related to daily life in Islamic boarding schools. The results of product validation from material and media experts obtained an average value of 82.50% with the information that it is very suitable for use in Arabic speaking learning at Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe: (1) the process and results of ArVo development and (2) the effectiveness of ArVo to improve students' vocabulary mastery at MAN Kota Batu. Learning media could be used to stimulate students’ reasoning, interests, emotion, and expertise or skills and could accelerate the development of learning processes. The subjects of this study were the students of class X MAN Kota Batu, and they were also accompanied by material experts, media experts, and subject teachers who played certain roles in achieving research’s objectives and quality. This study used 4 data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, qualitative questionnaires, and quantitative questionnaires with tests. The results showed that the ArVo process and development were carried out based on the 4 data collection techniques, resting upon the ADDIE development model. The effectiveness of ArVo was known based on the assessment results answered by 30 respondents. Such effectiveness indicated an increase in vocabulary mastery and accurate pronunciation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the lexical semantic fields of reading textbooks in Universitas Negeri Malang, specifically in categories being, cosmic, energetic, substantial, terrestrial, objective, living, animate, and human. It used a descriptive qualitative method with a semantic analysis approach. The semantic approach was selected since we intended to comprehend the semantic phenomenon from the lexical-semantic field aspect of a specific textbook course. In detail, we started the research by describing the lexical-semantic field in the textbook and classified the words and phrases. Further, we identified the rational understanding of those words and phrases as a complete understanding of a word requires comprehending the connection with the surrounding words, known as the semantic field. The interconnection of words’ meanings is caused by their specific meaning in particular social situation and condition. Our analysis results suggested that the lexical-semantic field in the reading course textbook (Al-Arabiyah Baina Yadaika chapter 1) from Universitas Negeri Malang is dominated by the being and human semantic fields. Accordingly, the lecturers are suggested to complete the reading textbook with more contextual materials with different semantic fields following students’ interests.Keywords: semantic field, lexical, learning material, readingMedan makna leksikal dalam bahan ajar matakuliah membaca di Universitas Negeri MalangTujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan medan makna leksikal dalam  bahan ajar matakuliah membaca di Universitas Negeri Malang pada kategori being, cosmic, energetic, substancial, terrestrial, objective, living, animate, dan human. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif  dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis semantik. Pendekatan semantik digunakan karena kami berupaya memahami fenomena semantik dari sisi medan makna leksikal yang terdapat pada bahan ajar matakuliah tertentu. Secara rinci, kami memulai penelitian dengan mendeskripsikan bidang leksikal-semantik dalam buku teks dan mengklasifikasikan kata dan frasa. Selanjutnya, kami mengidentifikasi pemahaman rasional dari kata-kata dan frase tersebut karena pemahaman yang lengkap dari sebuah kata memerlukan pemahaman hubungan dengan kata-kata sekitarnya, yang dikenal sebagai bidang semantik. Keterkaitan makna kata-kata disebabkan oleh maknanya yang spesifik dalam situasi dan kondisi sosial tertentu. Hasil analisis kami menunjukkan bahwa bidang leksikal-semantik dalam buku teks mata kuliah membaca (Al-Arabiyah Baina Yadaika bab 1) dari Universitas Negeri Malang didominasi oleh bidang semantik makhluk (being) dan manusia (human). Oleh karena itu, disarankan kepada dosen untuk melengkapi buku teks bacaan dengan materi yang lebih kontekstual dengan bidang semantik yang bervariasi medan maknanya sesuai dengan minat mahasiswa.Kata kunci: medan makna, leksikal, materi pembelajaran, membaca

Abstract

The study of pragmatics in understanding language and context involves elements of speech acts—the communication process between the speaker (speaker) and spoken (speech partner). The speech act is an approach to understanding meaning involving elocutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary elements in socio-psychological aspects. This study examines illocutionary speech acts on Twitter with the theme of love in the @1Naight account. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The study is focused on describing the types and meanings of illocutionary speech acts in the Twitter account @1Naight. The data collection technique uses documentation by taking screenshots and writing uploaded tweets. Data analysis was carried out by writing and translating tweets, classifying them according to the type of speech and its function, and ending the data presentation process by describing the types and illocutionary meanings of each tweet studied. The results of this study are exposure to illocutionary speech act data, which includes powerful speech which serves to emphasize, directive speech that helps to suggest, command, plead, prohibit, and advise, and expressive vocabulary to express longing, gratitude, disappointment, hope, and regret.

Abstract

This research aimed to find students' and lecturers' needs for Arabic speech material design with an interactive electronic book (IE-Book) model for undergraduate students. Currently, books for this material are limited and do not fulfill the students' needs. This need analysis study used the descriptive analysis method: the data was collectedrom observation, interview, questionnaire, and other supporting documents. Then the data analysis technique used a judgment expert. There were four steps to analyze the data; data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. This research indicated that 72% of the students had difficulty learning Arabic speech. At the same time, 73% of students struggle to make excellent and correct Arabic speech. IE-Book for Arabic public speaking design is the proper and best solution to be used as guidance for speech courses and learning processes in Arabic speaking material at universities based on the problem above and students’ needs analysis that showed the high level for designing of alternative materials.
