Abstract

One type of wildlife in Indonesia that is threatened with extinction is the parrot. There are approximately 403 species of parrots in the world, and as many as 81 species are found in Indonesia. One of the areas rich in this bird species is the Maluku Islands, where 32 species of parrots are recorded and 12 of them are endemic to Maluku. Of the 12 bird species, 6 of them are protected. The results showed that the community had known the parrot because 69% had seen it in the forest and 31% had seen it because it was kept. In addition, the knowledge of people who have ever caught and sold parrots has a percentage index value of 23% and 35% or can be categorized as less. Meanwhile, the public knowledge index on the prohibition of catching parrots has an index value of 28% or less agree, 53% implementation of conservation (good enough), conservation participation 47% (high enough), habitat conservation with an index value of 59% (good enough), 24% of the community's knowledge of illegal logging is categorized as poor and the index value of the application of the protection law is 49% (quite agree). The current attitude of the community towards hunting has an index value of 16% or it can be categorized as bad, fishing is also classified as poor or the percentage index is 20%, illegal logging is 26% or the category is not good, and trade bans are in the disagree category (11%), while the lack of logging wild, has a percentage index value of 53% (good enough). The implementation of the Law (village rules) with an index value range of 50% or can be categorized as quite agree, and attitudes towards violators have a percentage index value of 38% or in the less high category, then the implementation of sanctions has an index value of 39% or can be categorized as less good.

Abstract

Drosophila melanogaster is one of the most common fruit fly species. This study aims to see the effect of culture media on the fecundity of these flies. The culture media used were pisang raja, pisang mulut bebek and pisang mas. The study was preceded by catching and identifying fruit flies, making culture media, making parent stock, isolating pupae to mating on each culture medium and counting the number of pupae. Data were analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that there was a significant effect of Ternate local banana culture media, in this case plantain culture media, on the fecundity of fruit fly (D. melanogaster) with a significant value of 0.014 out of 0.05. Based on this research, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of Ternate local banana culture media on fruit fly fecundity.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that is sweeping the world is currently forcing people to stay at home so that they can no longer do activities outside the home as usual, including studying at school, doing the learning process as usual, while efforts to educate the nation's life must be done in an innovative way, one of which is by doing the online learning process. This study aims (1) to reveal the profile of class VIII biology learning in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic, (2) To find out the constraints of class VIII biology learning in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive using observations, interviews and documentation. The results of this study showed that it was explained at the planning, implementation and evaluation stage carried out by teachers in the field of Biology IPA studies, namely, at the stage of learning planning conducted offline (face-to-face) with teaching materials in the form of RPP, Syllabus, LKS and package books, while at the stage of the implementation and evaluation process through online learning. From the tendency of planning is not in accordance with the implementation of learning because, planning through offline (face-to-face) while the implementation is online (online).

Abstract

Pendidkikan merupakan sebuah aktifitas yang integral yang mencangkup target, metode dan sarana dalam membentuk manusia yang mampu berinteraksi dan beradaptasi dengan lingkungannya, baik internal maupun eksternal demi terwujudnya kemajuan suasana belajar dan proses pembelajaran agar peserta didik secara aktif mengembangkan potensi di dalam dirinya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) terintegrasi Discovery Learning (DL) terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu (quasy Experiment). Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga kelas yaitu kelas X-IPA2 sebagai kelas eksperimen diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran STAD terintegrasi DL, X-IPA1 diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran STAD, danX-IPA3diajar menggunakan DL. Kelas X-IPA1 dan X-IPA3 merupakan kelas kontrol. Materi biologi yang diajarkan pada penelitian ini adalah tentang virus. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 84 peserta didik. Sedangkan sampelnya merupakan sampel total. Pengumpulan data hasil belajar peserta didik dilakukan menggunakan instrumen dalam bentuk soal tes essay dan pilihan ganda. Analisis data untuk menguji hipotesis menggunakan uji Anacova berbantuan SPSS versi 16.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model STAD terintegrasi DL berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Peningkatan hasil belajar pada model STAD terintegrasi DL sebesar 73,33;  DL  sebesar 59,49; dan STAD sebesar 56,22.

Abstract

This  study aims  to  improve  student  learning  outcomes  and  activities  at  MTs Miftahul Jannah Desa Dedeta through the application of the field trip method with Biology material. This research is a classroom action research (PTK). The sequence of activities carried out in this study included: (1) planning (2) implementation (3) observation and (4) reflection, where the subjects in this study were students of class VII MTs Miftahul Jannah, Desa Dedeta and the instruments used in this study were with multiple choice test, which consists of 10 questions. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that there is an increase in learning outcomes and student activities on the concept of classification of living things through the application of the field trip method in class VII MTs Miftahul Jannah, Desa Dedeta for the 2020/2021  academic  year.  In the first cycle there were 10 students who completed or 59% with a mean value of 63.53. Cycle II there was an increase with an average  score  of  73.53  of  the  students'  completeness,  namely  15  students  who completed. The percentage of student activity in the first cycle at the first meeting had a value of 55.56% with the less activity category and at the second meeting it was 61.11 with the enough activity category. In the second cycle the value obtained was 72.22% with the enough activity category and at the second meeting was 88.89% in the very good category with learning practices using the application of the field trip method.

Abstract

Education has an important role for humans, because with education humans can develop abilities and shape dignified character and national civilization in order to educate the nation's life to develop the potential of students to become human beings who are faithful, knowledgeable, and creative. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model with the Natural Exploration (JAS) approach on the cognitive learning outcomes of class VII students of SMP Islam Jailolo. This research is quasi-experimental research (Quasy Experiment). The population of this study consisted of two classes, namely class VII-A and class VII-B, which consisted of 55 students. The research sample is a total sample or full sample. Class VII-A as the experimental class was taught using the PjBL model with the JAS approach, while VII-B was the control class which was taught using the PjBL model. The instrument used to measure cognitive learning outcomes is a written test. The results of the data analysis used the SPSS-assisted normality and homogeneity tests, and the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, while the hypothesis test used the ANACOVA test and the result was that there was an influence of the PjBL learning model with the JAS approach on cognitive learning outcomes of class VII students of SMP Islam Jailolo at a significance level of 0 ,05.

Abstract

Bioinformatika saat ini telah menjadi ilmu yang penting bagi para saintis. Kenyataanya, pemahaman para guru dalam materi bioinformatika khususnya dalam pemanfaatan data GenBank masih perlu ditingkatkan. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengajarkan keterampilan pemanfaatan fungsi GenBank dan analisis dendogram pada guru-guru biologi. Pengabdian berupa pelatihan Bioinformatika bagi guru-guru MGMP Biologi SMA se-Kota Ternate. Pelatihan diikuti oleh 21 guru biologi dari sembilan SMA negeri dan swasta. Keterampilan peserta termasuk kategori sangat baik yakni nilai 95 pada keterampilan memanfaatkan fungsi GenBank dan 84 pada keterampilan analisis dendogram. Peserta juga merespon positif dengan kategori baik sekali terhadap pemateri dan isi materi dengan memberikan nilai rata-rata yakni 95,87 untuk pemateri dan 93.68 terhadap konten yang disampaikan. Secara umum, pelatihan bioinformatika ini termasuk sangat berhasil dan dapat dilanjutkan dengan sasaran yang lebih luas meliputi Kota Tidore dengan materi yang lebih bervariatif.

Abstract

This partnership activity aims to improve the ability of high school biology teachers to make genetics learning videos so that the material is easier for students to understand. Activities using socialization methods, material deepening, training and mentoring were carried out online and attended by 21 biology teachers who are members of the Ternate City High School Biology MGMP. Meanwhile, mentoring activities were carried out offline and attended by 13 peoples. The pretest results showed that 46.7% of participants did not know about various applications that can be downloaded for free from the internet to make genetics learning videos and 92.1% of participants had never made their own learning videos, but in the posttest 98.2% of participants understood the applications. the. At the end of the material deepening activity, it was discovered that the participants had understood the genetic concept of protein synthesis and cross-breeding and there were no misconceptions. In training activities, participants are trained on how to download free applications from the internet and how to operate these applications to create learning videos, including: creating images, selecting various features available on Canva, combining various images and videos, adding music, adding text, editing images. and sound. At the end of the mentoring activity, it was discovered that 78% of the participants had been able to make learning videos, while 22% of the learning videos produced had not been completed and could not be used for learning.

Abstract

The city of Ternate is an area whose territory consists mostly of ocean, so the people need an understanding of accurate tools to detect sea water levels which have the potential to become tsunamis and sometimes accompanied by earthquakes. For example, the educational community, teachers who are members of the Ternate City Physics MGMP, need to be given socialization and training on how to operate Arduino Uno-based tools which can provide signals when exposed to high tides via their ultrasonic sensors. The method for implementing the Community Partnership Program begins with identifying problems in coastal communities and high school physics teachers, followed by socialization, demonstrations and training on how to operate Arduino Uno-based tools. The activity is known to have increased physics teachers' understanding of the existence and benefits of the Arduino Uno by 100% and skills in operating the tool by 89.1%. Activity participants rated this activity as very important with an average result of 97.4%; the accuracy of the activity method was 95.6%; instructor expertise in delivering material was 97.1%. All participants (100%) who took part in the activity stated that this skill was important in teaching physics at school.

Abstract

The increasein cassava production is aimed at increasing yields that remain high according to needs and demand, therefore the target of increasing the weight of fresh tubers needs to be achieved with the method of development of cultivation technology. This research aims to examine the influence of cuttings sliced models and the number of shoots on the growth and yield of cassava crops. The study used local variety cassava cuttings from Tobelo, North Maluku. The study was arranged in factorial Randomized Block Design, as the first factor is the cuttings sliced model, consisting of 3 levels namely flat slice, one-sided sliced, and two-sided sliced, and the second factor is the number of buds consisting of 3 levels namely one bud, two buds, and three buds. Each treatment is repeated 3 times so there are 27 trial units. The results showed the treatment of the two-sided sliced model provided the highest average value on all observation parameters, while in the treatment of the number of buds, the number of buds one tended to provide the highest average value. The highest cassava production result was obtained in the combination of two-sided sliced model treatment with the number of buds one which is 15.96 tons ha-1.
