Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the self-reflection practice of prospective teacher of elementary education for their sense of self-development. This study will be guided by qualitative descriptive approach with phenomenology hermeneutics to investigate prospective teacher’s feeling in their written text. Accordingly the text would be analyzed using rhetorical analysis. The data of this study were collected from six written self-reflection that has correct composition as reflection from six prospective teacher that has taken implementation of thematic based learning class. The data of this study were analyzed based on its rhetorical expression with the consideration of the three stages of reflection process. The result of this study revealed that written self-reflections of prospective teacher mostly follow the same flow of reflection and has the sense of self-development in terms of their new perspective on the matter under consideration. Their new persepective usually in terms of conclusion or self-encouragement on the matter under consideration. The implication of this study was Result of this study may encourage the practice of reflection or self-reflection for prospective teacher so that it can be practiced and implemented more to the prospective teacher for their own personal and professional development.

Abstract

Food self-sufficiency, food security, and food sovereignty are terms that have recently become very popular as they are all related to the sustainability of human life. To ensure food availability, agriculture must continue to be developed and managed by skilled and professional workers. Agricultural education institutions are obliged to prepare graduates who possess the necessary competencies required by the agricultural business and industry sectors. This manuscript aims to provide an overview of the issues surrounding the provision of professional personnel in agricultural development (food production) and the efforts needed to address these challenges. The analysis and conclusions are based on previously published journal articles. Efforts to improve the quality of agricultural education graduates as preparation for entering the agricultural workforce must begin with fostering interest and motivating students in agricultural faculties to develop careers in agriculture. Educational institutions can take the following steps: (1) Enhancing the curriculum with learning activities related to technical skills in agriculture, (2) Increasing the competence and professionalism of lecturers in agriculture, and (3) Developing partnership networks between educational institutions and the agricultural business or industrial sectors, especially for student internships

Abstract

Pelaksanaan penelitian difokuskan pada minimnya pemanfaatan media pembelajaran yang diterapkan di ruang kelas khususnya materi luas bangun datar. Siswa menunjukkan pemahaman yang masih terbatas dalam menghitung luas sehingga siswa memperoleh hasil pembelajaran di bawah KKM. Tujuan penelitian ini siswa mampu memperoleh peningkatan pada hasil belajar mereka, khususnya di materi luas bangun datar. Siswa yang terlibat dalam peneliian yaitu siswa kelas V SDN Dukuh Kupang 1/488 Surabaya dengan memanfaatkan media Geoboard. Metode yang digunakan yaitu PTK, dimana menggunakan dua siklus yang mana setiap siklusnya mencakup pelaksanaan, perencanaan, refleksi, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian berupa meningkatnya hasil belajar pada siswa, dimana rata-rata kenaikan sebanyak 15 poin. Di siklus I diperoleh skor siswa adalah 62, dan pada siklus kedua menjadi 77. Hal ini menunjukkan peningkatan yang baik. Selain itu, jika dilihat dalam ketuntasan masing-masing individu, pada siklus pertama terdapat 13 siswa yang tuntas (43,3%) dan pada siklus kedua terdapat 20 siswa yang tuntas (66,7%). Oleh karena itu, penggunaan media Geoboard terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa untuk memahami materi bangun datar di jenjang kelas V.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di kelas IV SDN Dukuh Kupang 1/488 Surabaya pada mata pelajaran matematika materi jajar genjang melaui media Wordwall. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa kelas IV pada pelajaran matematika dan kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap materi luas bangun datar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Tindakan kelas yang menggunakan model milik Kemmis dan McTaggart, dilakukan selama 2 siklus dan tiap siklusnya terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data hasil belajar diperoleh dari hasil tes setelah melakukan pembelajaran di setiap siklusnya. Setelah melakukan penelitian, dapat diketahui bahwa penggunaan media Wordwall dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDN Dukuh Kupang 1/488 Surabaya pada mata Pelajaran matematika materi menghitung luas jajar genjang. Peningkatan ini dapat dilihat pada rata-rata hasil belajar siswa di setiap siklusnya, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Wordwall dapat menjadi salah satu strategi untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika materi menghitung luas jajar genjang.

Abstract

Mastery in creative thinking ability on Elementary school students have become a central issue in Indonesia education system. The ability to think creatively in learning Mathematics is needed in solving the problems, especially the problem in the form of stories. This study aimed to investigate the use of Problem Posing approach on creative thinking ability of elementary school students. The study is descriptive qualitative study. The students of fourth grade of elementary school were chosen as subject of the research. The data collected from the result of observation sheet and test and then analyzed using the scoring indicator rubrics, developed by Siswono. The result of this study showed that (1) By applying the problem posing approach, the activities of fourth grader elementary school students have increase in mathematics learning about the story problem on calculating mixed operations and (2) the application of the problem posing approach can improve the creative thinking ability of fourth grade students.

Abstract

Primary school education is an important factor for the success of the next level education. Several changes have been made to the education system in Indonesia to expand access of education in rural areas, improve the quality of education, building initiatives since 2001. In this study, the method used was Multivariate to explore the relationship between several independent variables, i.e. gender, residence and expenditure groups. Prerequisite tests performed showed that the data were normally distributed. The results of this study indicate that in the Hierarchical Cluster analysis, four clusters were found in number of gross participation rate (APK) of primary schools or equal in Indonesia year 2018, 2019 and 2020. The hypothesis test showed that gender, residence and expenditure group has no significant effect on APK of primary schools or equal students. This indicates that in year 2018, 2019 and 2020, primary schools or equal students have received education evenly in ratio of gender, residence and expenditure group.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a snake and ladder learning media for multiplication operations in the fourth grade of SD Putra Bangsa Driyorejo. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). In this research and development process, the procedure applied follows the ADDIE model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and student assessments. The resulting data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on the analysis results, the MEKUHI snake and ladder learning media can facilitate students' understanding of the material. The results of this study indicate that (1) the MEKUHI snake and ladder learning media is appropriately developed and feasible to use, as it aligns with the learning objectives, and (2) the MEKUHI snake and ladder learning media can help students understand the material more easily and increase student engagement in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Canva-based animated game learning media called Batulia Play for reading and writing syllables in grade 1 students of SDN Pakis V Surabaya. This type of research is a development research (Research and Development) that adopts the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), focusing on visual and interactive aspects to increase student motivation and learning outcomes. Media validation was conducted by media experts, material experts, and through student responses, followed by a pretest-posttest test to measure its effectiveness. The validation results showed an average percentage of 97% from media experts, 88% from material experts, and 92.73% from student responses, all included in the “Strongly Agree” category. After using Batulia Play media, student learning outcomes increased by 11.38%. Thus, Batulia Play media is proven to be feasible and effective in learning to read and write syllables in grade 1 SDN Pakis V Surabaya.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the strategies for utilizing reading corners to increase the reading interest of elementary school students. The low reading interest in Indonesia, which ranks 60th out of 61 countries, serves as an important backdrop for this research. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted in class IV C of SDN Pakis V Surabaya. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving the research subjects, which are the teachers and students of class IV C. Data analysis uses an interactive model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that the reading corner has been utilized well by students with a visiting frequency of 2-3 times a day for 15-20 minutes. The reading corner has a significant positive impact on students' interest in learning and reading, marked by changes in reading habits that are more independent, an increase in public speaking skills, a broadening of knowledge, improvement in academic grades, and achievements in literacy competitions. Supporting factors for success include the support of the principal, the active role of teachers, parental support, the availability of 65 books with various types, and the effectiveness of the 15-minute reading program. However, there are inhibiting factors such as limited space, lack of updates to the book collection, the absence of comfortable seating facilities, and uneven student interest in reading.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penyelidikan tindakan kelas (PTK) ini bermula dari penemuan isu yang timbul dalam proses pembelajaran bahan pekerjaan di kelas 1 Sekolah Dasar Negeri Dukuh Kupang 1. Pengamatan yang dilakukan pada tahap awal memperlihatkan bahwa peserta didik menemui kendala dalam mengerti konsep serta keterangan yang terhubung dengan aneka ragam jenis pekerjaan. Kejadian ini tergambar dari taraf keikutsertaan siswa yang tergolong rendah saat diskusi kelas, adanya kesukaran dalam merespons pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh pengajar, dan perolehan hasil belajar yang belum memenuhi harapan. Keadaan ini menandakan adanya kebutuhan mendesak untuk merancang serta menerapkan jalan keluar yang inovatif dan efektif, dengan tujuan utama untuk meningkatkan pemahaman serta capaian hasil belajar siswa dalam konteks bahan pekerjaan. Pusat perhatian dari penyelidikan ini adalah untuk menjajaki dan menerapkan pemakaian media kartu kilat (flash card) sebagai suatu bentuk campur tangan yang terencana. Campur tangan ini diharapkan sanggup secara signifikan meningkatkan hasil belajar akademik peserta didik kelas 1 dalam bahan pekerjaan di lingkungan Sekolah Dasar Negeri Dukuh Kupang 1. Alasan pemilihan kartu kilat sebagai alat pembelajaran didasarkan pada sifatnya yang menonjol, yaitu wujudnya yang visual, ringkas, dan interaktif. Sifat-sifat ini diharapkan mampu membangkitkan minat serta perhatian siswa, memfasilitasi kemudahan dalam mengerti konsep-konsep yang diajarkan, serta meningkatkan kesanggupan siswa dalam menyimpan dan mengingat keterangan. Penyelidikan ini secara khusus menaruh perhatian pada cara pemakaian kartu kilat secara terencana dan terstruktur dapat memberi pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa mengenai berbagai jenis pekerjaan, tugas-tugas yang dijalankan oleh tiap-tiap pekerjaan, dan peran yang dimainkan oleh pekerjaan-pekerjaan tersebut di dalam dinamika masyarakat.
