Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the discussion experimental method on understanding the concept of physics in grade VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Palu. This research was a quasi experimental study using the equivalent prestest-postest design. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique and resulted in class VIIC as the experimental class and class VIID as the control class. The instrument used was a test of understanding the concept of physics in the form of essays totaling 10 questions that had been validated through expert validity. The results of data analysis obtained that the mean pretest score of students' understanding of physics concepts in the experimental class was 19.25, the standard deviation was 2.92, while the mean posttest score was 31.33 with a standard deviation of 3.76. For the control class, the mean pretest score was 18.95 with a standard deviation of 2.32, while for the posttest mean score was 25.14 with a standard deviation of 3.58. Data analysis was performed using the two-party t-test statistical technique with a significant level of α = 0.05. Obtained the value of t count = 5.83 and t table = 2.02, with an ideal score of 40. This means that the value of t count is outside the area of ​​acceptance Ho. These results indicate that there is a difference between the experimental class and the control class. It can be concluded that there is an effect of the discussion experimental method on the understanding of the physics concept of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Palu.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of looking at the effect of learning outcomes on physics taught using the ARIAS learning model using the experimental method. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group. The population of this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Dampal Selatan. Sampling technique used in this research is Proposive Sampling. The physics learning outcome instrument is in the form of a multiple choice test that has been validated through construct validity. The test of physics learning outcomes obtained showed that the average score of the experimental group was 16.75 which was higher than the control group, which was 12.07. Hypothesis test T-test (two parties), obtained tcount=6.69 and ttable(0.975(68))=1.99 at a significance level of a=0.05. This means that there is an effect on student learning outcomes using the ARIAS learning model using the experimental method with student learning outcomes using the Direct Instruction learning model in class X SMA Negeri 1 Dampal Selatan.

Abstract

This study aims to see whether there is an effect of the time token type cooperative learning model on the physics learning outcomes of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Banawa Tengah. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental design with "the non-equivalent pretest-posttest group design". The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique. Class VII B as the control class and class VII D as the experimental class. The instrument used is a test of physics learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice that has been tested and data analysis techniques. Based on the results of data processing, for the experimental class, the average final test score was 8.80 with a standard deviation of 3.30. For the control class, the average final test score was 6.10 with a standard deviation of 3.11. The results of hypothesis testing obtained tcount = 3.43 and ttable = 2.02. This means that the value of tcount is outside the H0 acceptance region. These results provide an opportunity to state that there are differences in physics learning outcomes between the control class and the experimental class. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the time token type of cooperative learning model on the physics learning outcomes of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Banawa Tengah.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the effect of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type cooperative learning model on physics learning outcomes. This type of research was a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group. The population of this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 5 Palu. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling with the research sample being class X MIPA 3 as the experimental group and class X MIPA 4 as the control group. The instrument used is a test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple-choice questions. The increase in the average N-Gain in the experimental class was 50.88% while in the control class it was 22.68%. Based on the hypothesis test t-test (one party) obtained tcount = 2.88 and t0.975 (67) = 2.00 at the real level = 0.05. This means that the value of tcount is outside the acceptance area of ​​H0. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of student learning outcomes using the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type cooperative learning model on physics learning outcomes in class X SMA Negeri 5 Palu

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of the recitation method in the cooperative learning model to improve the learning outcomes of heat and its transfer. This type of research was quasi-experimental. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The samples of this research were students of class VII A and VII B of SMP Negeri 3 Bulagi. Class VII A is the experimental group and class VIIB is the control group. The learning outcome test instrument was a multiple-choice test. Based on the results of data processing, the N-gain value in the experimental group was obtained at 45.97%, which was in the medium category. Then for the control group, the N-gain value was obtained at 33.43%, which was also in the medium category. These results indicate that the learning outcomes of physics in the experimental group are higher than those in the control group. The results of statistical calculations from the average difference test using t-test (two-tailed) obtained tcount > ttable (tcount = 4.22 and ttable = 2.02) at a significance level of 5% and dk = 45, thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the recitation method in the cooperative learning model to improve the learning outcomes of heat and its transfer.

Abstract

This study aims to identify students scientific reasoning ability in Palu city and the correlation between students’ scientific reasoning abilities and their cognitive aptitude within the context of physics education. In this study, we adopted a descriptive quantitative research method where the respondents consist of four high schools in Palu city, namely SMAN 1, SMAN 7, SMAN 6, and SMAN 4 Palu. An instrument by Lawson (LCSTR) was adapted for this study and it consist of 12 items two tier multiple-choice that contains conservation of mass and volume, proportional thinking, control of variables, probabilistic thinking, correlational thinking, and hypothetical deductive reasoning. Meanwhile, for the cognitive understanding test, we utilized a static fluid concept comprehension test. The findings of this research using SPSS to analyzed find that Pearson correlation coefficient is 0,54 that revealed significant correlations between students’ scientific reasoning abilities and their cognitive aptitude in the context of physics learning. These correlations provided valuable insights into how these components influence each other and impact students’ performance and achievement in physics. The study’s result has implications for educators as a reference in the selection of models and methods of physics learning appropriate to train and develop students scientific reasoning skills.

Abstract

Solar thermal power generation using thermoelectric technology offers promising potential for renewable energy use in Palu, Indonesia, providing a clean and sustainable source of electricity for low-power electronic devices. This approach not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also supports sustainable regional development by offering an alternative to fossil fuels, thus strengthening long-term energy resilience. Additionally, utilizing renewable energy can foster local economic opportunities and decrease energy import costs. This study employs a thermoelectric generator (TEG) that converts heat focused through water lenses into electrical power via the Seebeck effect. The system’s performance depends on the temperature difference created between the heated and cooled sides of the thermoelectric module. Experimental results showed a voltage range of 0.1 V to 0.33 V, producing a current of about 0.001 A, with an output power of 1.0 × 10⁻⁴ W to 3.3 × 10⁻⁴ W. Though the current output supports low-power devices, further optimization is required to enhance efficiency. This research underscores the viability of water lens-based thermoelectric systems as an eco-friendly energy solution in solar-rich regions, presenting a potential pathway for sustainable energy generation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning berbantuan alat sains sederhana pada materi gelombang cahaya terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis peserta didik SMA Negeri 6 Sigi. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen kuasi dengan desain the non-equivalent pretest-posttest design. Populasi penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Sigi. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling dengan sampel penelitian adalah kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen kemampuan berfikir kritis peserta didik berupa tes pilihan ganda. Hasil analisis uji Independent Sample T-Test pada nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000<0,05, maka H1= diterima. Dari perhitungan N-Gain Score, kelas eksperimen sebesar 61% dengan kategori cukup efektif sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 46% dengan kategori kurang efektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model discovery learning berbantuan alat sains sederhana pada materi gelombang cahaya terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis peserta didik SMA Negeri 6 Sigi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh media video pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Palu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain “non equivalent control group design”. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Palu. Teknik sampling yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling dengan menghasilkan kelas X-H sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X-I sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen hasil belajar berupa tes pilihan ganda. Tes hasil belajar yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata kelas eksperimen 74,33 lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol yaitu 53,00. Analisis data dilakukan Uji-t dengan independent sample t-test diperoleh nilai nilai thitung > ttabel atau 5,82 > 2,00 dengan nilai signifikansi = 0,05 dan memperoleh nilai Sig 2 Tailed berada pada kriteria penerimaan sehingga ditolak dan diterima. Hasil analisa data dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan video pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Palu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kualitas madu berdasarkan parameter massa jenis, indeks bias dan tegangan permukaan sebagai alternative pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian experiment research (Penelitian eksperimen). Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah madu flora yang berasal dari peternakan madu flora di Kota Palu dengan jenis madu multiflora dan madu monoflora. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan kualitas madu yang paling tinggi sampai yang paling rendah berdasarkan parameter massa jenis, indeks bias dan tegangan permukaan secara beturut – turut adalah madu multiflora dengan massa jenis sebesar 1,23 × 103 kg/????3 , indeks bias sebear 1,26 dan tegangan permukaan sebesar 9,12 × 10-5 ????/???? kemudian madu monoflora dengan massa jenis sebesar 1,13 × 103 kg/????3 , indeks bias sebear 1,16 dan tegangan permukaan sebesar 7,23 × 10-5 ????/????. Nilai SNI yang terdaftar di BPOM untuk massa jenis madu adalah 1331,25 kg/m3 dan indeks bias sebesar 1,475 – 1,504. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa madu yang diteliti belum sesuai dengan SNI yang dikeluarkan oleh BPOM.
