Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi makna sosial dari penggunaan tagar #KaburAjaDulu di media sosial X sebagai wujud ekspresi kolektif generasi muda dalam merespons tekanan hidup, stagnasi sosial, dan keinginan untuk berpindah atau bermobilitas. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui metode netnografi terhadap 21 unggahan dengan interaksi tinggi pada Januari–Februari 2025, studi ini mengungkap bahwa tagar tersebut merefleksikan lebih dari sekadar tren viral. Ia menjadi simbol keresahan struktural, hasrat migrasi, serta keterikatan emosional terhadap unsur budaya seperti kuliner lokal. Berbeda dari pendekatan sebelumnya yang bersifat kuantitatif atau teknis, penelitian ini menekankan aspek kultural dan emosional dalam pemanfaatan tagar, serta menunjukkan peran media sosial dalam membentuk makna dan identitas kolektif. Temuan ini memperkaya kajian komunikasi digital dan dapat dimanfaatkan oleh pembuat kebijakan serta pelaku industri digital untuk memahami hashtag sebagai penanda dinamika sosial dan aspirasi generasi muda. Abstract. This study explores the social meaning behind the use of the hashtag #KaburAjaDulu on the social media platform X as a form of collective expression among young people in response to life pressures, social stagnation, and aspirations for mobility. Using a qualitative approach through netnography, the research analyzes 21 high-engagement tweets posted between January and February 2025. The findings reveal that this hashtag is not merely a viral trend but reflects structural anxieties, desires for migration, and emotional ties to cultural identity, such as traditional Indonesian food. Unlike previous studies that focus on quantitative or technical analyses of social media phenomena, this research offers a cultural and emotional perspective. It highlights the role of social media as a space for meaning-making and the formation of collective identity. Theoretically, the study contributes to digital communication scholarship, while practically, it provides insights for policymakers and digital industry stakeholders to understand hashtags as indicators of social pressure and youth migration narratives.

Abstract

Lirik lagu dengan berbagai genre apapun seringkali menjadi sarana untuk menyampaikan pesan sosial termasuk kritik di dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan seperti ketidakadilan, masalah sosial, kemanusiaan termasuk menyentuh pada ranah instansi tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tentang kritik sosial yang direpresentasikan melalui lirik lagu "Bayar, Bayar, Bayar" karya Sukatani. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui pendekatan analisis semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure, penelitian ini berfokus kepada aspek penanda (signifier) dan petanda (signified) dalam judul lirik tersebut berupa ungkapan kritik kepada kepolisian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa makna Penanda (signifier) dan petanda (signified) pada frase repetitif “bayar polisi” yang ada pada lirik lagu Sukatani memberikan ritme sekaligus sindiran berupa kritik sosial dan memperkuat kesan bahwa segala sesuatu yang melibatkan kepolisian berujung pada pembayaran informal.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Islamic da'wah communication through animated media on Instagram, focusing on how visual aesthetics and narrative strategies influence the construction of religious meaning and audience engagement. Unlike previous research that mainly examined audience responses, this study integrates visual communication theory, symbolic interactionism, and the sociology of religion to analyze how animation redefines religious authority and identity in digital spaces. Using a qualitative case study, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and content documentation from four purposively selected Instagram accounts. Thematic analysis was employed to identify patterns in narrative construction, symbolic representation, and audience interpretation. Findings reveal that animation functions not only as a tool for message delivery but also as an active medium of theological construction and identity formation for Gen Z Muslims. The study makes a theoretical contribution to the mediatization of religion and offers practical insights for digital da'wah strategies in contemporary contexts.

Abstract

In the context of disaster communication in the digital era, synergy and cooperation between stakeholders in forming a disaster management information management system is carried out using digital communication integrated with the "Jabar Command Center" (JCC). However, the form of digital communication in the JCC is diverse because it covers all information about West Java. Therefore, this study aims to examine digital communication related to disaster information using the concept of integrated approach digital communication. The research method is a case study with data collection techniques through interviews and focus group discussions. The results showed that the form of digital communication in responding to disaster information in West Java was carried out by creating "Data Ecosystem Jabar," interactive public services through the website and the "SAPAWARGA" application. The communication pattern that occurred in the case of the Cianjur Earthquake is the complaint communication pattern through the Cianjur Earthquake Data Coordination Information Center (PISO DAPUR).

Abstract

Social media has become a very important tool in political communication, especially in the face of presidential election contestation. This study aims to analyze Anies Baswedan's political communication on social media ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis method, this study examines Anies Baswedan's political communication content on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. The results showed that Anies Baswedan raised various themes and main issues in his political communication on social media, such as the economy, education, health, infrastructure, corruption, and environment. He uses a critical and vocal communication style in voicing opinions and criticizing government policies. His communication strategy also includes efforts to image himself as a leader who is vocal, critical, close to the people, experienced, competent, and concerned about environmental issues and sustainable development. Anies Baswedan's political communication on social media received diverse responses from audiences, ranging from support to intense criticism and debate. However, political communication on social media also faces a number of challenges and implications, such as political polarization, the spread of false information, black campaigns, and issues of digital campaign ethics.

Abstract

The political year 2024 in Indonesia presents unique dynamics in political news consumption, especially among the Millennial and Gen Z generations. This study explores their preferences, habits, and patterns of political news consumption behavior and the factors influencing them, focusing on the city of Bandung as a case study. This study uses a descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with purposively selected informants to gain in-depth insights. The study results show that the intensity of Exposure to political news through social media plays a significant role in increasing Millennial and Gen Z interest in political issues. Instagram and TikTok are the leading platforms used because of their interactive features and short video content that is considered interesting, informative, and entertaining. In contrast, traditional media such as television and print are increasingly rarely used because they are considered less flexible and difficult to access. The preference for short video formats reflects the fast and dynamic lifestyle of the younger generation. In addition, their active involvement in political discussions on social media shows the great potential of this generation as a driver of change in the Indonesian political landscape. By utilizing social media platforms and relevant visual content, political stakeholders can increase the younger generation's involvement in the democratic process while strengthening their role in shaping the future of Indonesian politics.

Abstract

Perusahaan kini beralih dari beriklan di media konvensional ke metode pemasaran alternatif yang menempatkan iklan di lokasi yang unik. Iklan kreatif dan strategis bertujuan untuk mencapai efektivitas dalam menyampaikan pesan periklanan. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi makna iklan "The Uwise Brothers" dari Blu by BCA, dengan berfokus pada strategi kreatif pesan iklan yang menggunakan aktor ahli bela diri asal Indonesia yang sudah go-internasional, dan namanya di’pleset’kan menjadi tema iklan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana elemen-elemen semiotik dalam iklan berkontribusi pada strategi kreatif pesan iklan. Melalui metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika, penelitian ini menganalisis adegan demi adegan dari iklan tersebut, termasuk narasi iklan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan representamen berupa simbol-simbol visual dan dialog yang menggambarkan situasi dan interaksi antara karakter-karakter utama. Objek dalam setiap adegan mengacu pada latar tempat dan karakter-karakter yang terlibat. Sementara interpretant mencakup pemahaman tentang pesan-pesan tersembunyi, hubungan antar karakter, dan nilai-nilai yang disampaikan melalui interaksi mereka. Strategi kreatif diterapkan melalui penggunaan nama aktor sebagai jangkar dalam menyampaikan pesan-pesan produk sehingga memiliki kekuatan pengingat dalam benak audiens.

Abstract

Instagram has become a social media with many users. Previous research has shown that Instagram content is often associated with learning media, promotion, entertainment, and politics. The purpose of this study is to see the relationship between Instagram content and people's digital literacy skills. Using the correlational method, the survey respondents were followers of the @jabarsaberhoaks Instagram account, which reached 59.5 thousand. The results showed two main content elements of @jabarsaberhoaks visual aspects of photos and videos, as well as textual elements that accompanied the visuals. While the themes raised consist of seven themes, namely saberinfo, saberliteration, saberbudaya, saberquote, sabertainment, saberquiz, and sabermoment.  The conclusion of this study is that hoax educational content on Instagram @jabarsaberhoaks has an impact on people's digital literacy levels.

Abstract

Social media has seamlessly integrated into the daily lives of countless individuals, captivating users who spend significant portions of their time scrolling through their feeds and interacting with their online connections. This digital era, however, has brought to light a darker side – the prevalence of hate speech and abusive behavior, notably among Indonesian netizens. This study seeks to identify and scrutinize official Instagram accounts of certain celebrities, focusing on the presence of hate speech. Employing a quantitative research method with content analysis, the research centers on comments made by fans. Data will be gathered, coded, and subjected to a reliability test for categorization. The findings underscore a disturbingly high incidence of hate speech on Instagram accounts, highlighting the need for intervention from multiple stakeholders, particularly within the realms of communication science and prophetic communication. This research offers invaluable insights into social media usage and paves the way for corrective measures, education, and evaluation, ultimately striving to foster a more positive and constructive social media environment for all users.
