Abstract

This study aims to find out how to communicate a person with a hearing impairment (deaf and deaf) in the Memen figure. The communication made by Memen is the exchange of meanings and symbols so that they affect behavior change. You can communicate and do your daily activities well, despite the limitations you have. Memen can grasp the meaning of a symbol well by his mind. With the confidence that Memen has, Memen is also supported by the surrounding environment that influences the current character of Memen. This research uses qualitative research methods with case studies. Collection techniques used through interviews, observations and literature studies and theories used are symbolic interaction theories according to George Herbert Mead which will explain the Mind, Self and Society. The results of the study, Memen did not understand nonverbal languages officially, and he understood self-taught and assisted by residents in the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Perusahaan kini beralih dari beriklan di media konvensional ke metode pemasaran alternatif yang menempatkan iklan di lokasi yang unik. Iklan kreatif dan strategis bertujuan untuk mencapai efektivitas dalam menyampaikan pesan periklanan. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi makna iklan "The Uwise Brothers" dari Blu by BCA, dengan berfokus pada strategi kreatif pesan iklan yang menggunakan aktor ahli bela diri asal Indonesia yang sudah go-internasional, dan namanya di’pleset’kan menjadi tema iklan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana elemen-elemen semiotik dalam iklan berkontribusi pada strategi kreatif pesan iklan. Melalui metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika, penelitian ini menganalisis adegan demi adegan dari iklan tersebut, termasuk narasi iklan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan representamen berupa simbol-simbol visual dan dialog yang menggambarkan situasi dan interaksi antara karakter-karakter utama. Objek dalam setiap adegan mengacu pada latar tempat dan karakter-karakter yang terlibat. Sementara interpretant mencakup pemahaman tentang pesan-pesan tersembunyi, hubungan antar karakter, dan nilai-nilai yang disampaikan melalui interaksi mereka. Strategi kreatif diterapkan melalui penggunaan nama aktor sebagai jangkar dalam menyampaikan pesan-pesan produk sehingga memiliki kekuatan pengingat dalam benak audiens.

Abstract

Indonesia and Thailand, both Southeast Asian countries with high levels of cigarette consumption, have implemented health warning images on cigarette packs as a strategy to reduce smoking prevalence. This study aims to analyze and compare the effectiveness of these warning images in creating a deterrent and fear effect on smokers in both countries. Using Roland Barthes' semiotic method, this study focuses on visual elements such as image, size, and text message. The findings show that in Indonesia, images of lung cancer victims with scary textual warnings are pasted on the packaging, whereas in Thailand, the images used are more varied and larger in size, creating a stronger visual impact. Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health and Thailand's Global Action to End Smoking revealed that there will be 70 million smokers in Indonesia by 2024 and 11.5 million in Thailand by 2022. The comparative results suggest that the larger and more varied health warnings in Thailand may be more effective in attracting attention and triggering emotional responses compared to the more homogenous approach in Indonesia. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that effective visual warnings can influence smokers' awareness and behavior, providing important insights for the development of more dynamic public health policies tailored to each country's cultural context in tobacco control efforts.

Abstract

The political year 2024 in Indonesia presents unique dynamics in political news consumption, especially among the Millennial and Gen Z generations. This study explores their preferences, habits, and patterns of political news consumption behavior and the factors influencing them, focusing on the city of Bandung as a case study. This study uses a descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with purposively selected informants to gain in-depth insights. The study results show that the intensity of Exposure to political news through social media plays a significant role in increasing Millennial and Gen Z interest in political issues. Instagram and TikTok are the leading platforms used because of their interactive features and short video content that is considered interesting, informative, and entertaining. In contrast, traditional media such as television and print are increasingly rarely used because they are considered less flexible and difficult to access. The preference for short video formats reflects the fast and dynamic lifestyle of the younger generation. In addition, their active involvement in political discussions on social media shows the great potential of this generation as a driver of change in the Indonesian political landscape. By utilizing social media platforms and relevant visual content, political stakeholders can increase the younger generation's involvement in the democratic process while strengthening their role in shaping the future of Indonesian politics.

Abstract

Pendekatan Sains, Teknologi, Rekayasa, Seni, dan Matematika (STEAM) dan Game Based Learning (GBL) berperan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kolaborasi, berpikir kritis, dan pemecahan masalah siswa, sambil merangsang kreativitas mereka untuk menghadapi tantangan di era Society 5.0. Pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran membawa banyak keuntungan, tetapi penggunaannya perlu dilakukan secara bijak untuk menghindari dampak negatif. Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan anak usia dini dengan memberdayakan guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) dalam merancang pembelajaran berbasis permainan, mengintegrasikan pendekatan STEAM, serta mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Program ini diharapkan mampu menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang interaktif, kreatif, dan sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan anak. Pendekatan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan guru tentang STEAM dan Game Based Learning dilakukan melalui metode Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), dengan mengidentifikasi masalah dan berkoordinasi dengan pihak terkait di Kecamatan Astanaanyar. Program ini bertujuan memberdayakan guru PAUD dengan mengembangkan game edukasi berbasis STEAM menggunakan MS-PowerPoint. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukan ada peningkatan pemahaman guru PAUD tentang Kurikulum Merdeka dengan pendekatan STEAM dan keterampilan teknologi informasi. Guru dapat membuat game edukatif menggunakan PowerPoint, yang meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran dan memotivasi anak-anak dalam pembelajaran TIK.

Abstract

Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is an innovative learning model in the Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM). This study aims to identify and analyze innovations in the teaching of the subject of Akidah Akhlak using the Contextual Teaching and Learning method in an environmentally-based Madrasah. In an era of education that increasingly demands relevance and applicability, the Contextual Teaching and Learning model is still considered an effective method for enhancing understanding and internalizing the values of akidah akhlak in everyday life. The focus of this research is Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 (MIN 1) Yogyakarta, which is one of the environmentally-based madrasahs with programs related to environmental preservation. This environmentally-based program requires a lot of learning outside the classroom, which can be integrated into the teaching of Akidah Akhlak using the CTL method. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. The findings indicate that the implementation of innovative teaching of Akidah Akhlak with the CTL method in grade III at MIN 1 Yogyakarta has several notes: 1) the learning process runs well and is attended by all students; 2) the implementation of the CTL model is constrained by limited time; 3) the results show that the application of the CTL model in teaching Akidah Akhlak not only improves students' understanding of the material but also helps them apply religious teachings in their daily behaviour.

Abstract

The use of digital surveys is becoming increasingly important in collecting customer satisfaction data, especially in the competitive garment accessories industry. However, the limited representation of respondents in digital surveys remains a challenge. This study aims to explore the factors that influence customer satisfaction, focusing on product quality, service speed, and feedback systems. A qualitative approach with a case study method is applied to understand customer experiences in depth. Data were collected through an online survey focusing on key aspects of customer satisfaction and analyzed descriptively. The findings show that product quality is a key factor in customer satisfaction, while service speed and a responsive feedback system become more important for new customers. Although digital surveys are effective in capturing customer perceptions, bias can occur due to the limited representation of customers less familiar with digital technology. These results align with findings in other industries, which show the importance of service quality and responsive interactions in building customer satisfaction. However, a multi-channel approach is recommended to improve respondent representation in digital surveys. This research provides insights into the factors that affect customer satisfaction in a digital context and recommends a multi-channel survey strategy to improve the validity and representativeness of the results.

Abstract

Abstract. Political Communication Strategy is an important element in the general election of DPRD Legislative Candidates. This is the method used by all candidates who will participate in nominating themselves in the general election. The aim of using political communication strategies in elections is not to win this election in their own way, whether it is beneficial for them or vice versa. Therefore, the researcher was interested in the Cimahi City DPRD legislative candidate for electoral district 1, namely Nurdianti S.H, because the researcher considered the source's approach to be different from other candidates. The paradigm used in this research is the constructivism paradigm because researchers consider that this paradigm is relevant to the research being studied. In this study, qualitative research methods were used, where in collecting data the researcher conducted direct interviews with sources and collected data based on the results of the interviews. Researchers also used SWOT theory and Political Communication Strategy in reviewing the findings. The results of the research show that seeing that in the previous election she failed to qualify as a member of the legislature, Nurdianti S.H finally used a new strategy which she called the silent strategy. The silent strategy he implemented was a campaign program that was quieter and saved costs, such as going directly into the community starting with the area where he lived. He also took a campaign approach in the form of holding tourist visits and social activities with the community with campaign elements Abstrak. Strategi Komunikasi Politik ialah elemen yang penting dalam pemilihan umum Calon Legislatif DPRD . Ini adalah cara yang dilakukan oleh semua calon yang akan ikut serta mencalonkan dirinya dalam pemilihan umum. Tujuan penggunaan strategi komunikasi politik dalam pemilu adalah tidak lain untuk memenangkan pemilu ini dengan cara mereka masing masing, ada yang menguntungkan bagi mereka ataupun sebaliknya. Maka dari itu Peneliti tertarik terhadap calon legislatif dprd kota cimahi dapil 1 yaitu Nurdianti S.H dikarenakan cara narasumber yang peneliti anggap berbeda dengan calon lainnya. Paradigma yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini paradigma konstruktivisme dikarenakan peneliti menganggap bahwa paradigma tersebut relevan dengan penelitian yang sedang diteliti. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif yang mana dalam pengumpulan datanya peneliti melakukan wawancara secara langsung dengan narasumber dan pengumpulan data berdasarkan hasil dari wawancara. Peneliti juga menggunakan teori SWOT dan Strategi Komunikasi Politik dalam mengkaji temuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melihat dari pemilihan sebelumnya beliau gagal lolos menjadi anggota legislatif, Nurdianti S.H akhirnya menggunakan strategi baru yang ia beri nama strategi senyap. Strategi senyap yang diterapkan beliau ialah program kampanye yang lebih tenang dan menghemat biaya seperti terjun langsung ke masyarakat dimulai dengan wilayah tempat tinggal beliau. Beliau juga melakukan pendekatan kampanye berupa mengadakan acara kunjungan wisata dan kegiatan kegiatan sosial bersama masyarakat dengan embel – embel kampanye

Abstract

Abstract. To be able to carry out learning in the digital era, teachers must be literate in technology and information. We are currently in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, which demands harmony between humans and information technology in finding solutions to various problems and creating creative and innovative opportunities. One of the competencies of 21st-century teachers is to develop interactive learning media based on digital technology. However, the reality in the field is that there are limited facilities and infrastructure, so there needs to be another motivation to develop ICT in the learning process of early childhood education (PAUD). This activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which is a transformative approach that aims to solve problems and fulfill the orientation on empowerment and practical needs of community change. The training participants are representatives of PAUD teachers in the Astanaanyar sub-district, under the coordination of the POKJA Bunda PAUD Astana Anyar sub-district. The result of this training is the increased ability of teachers to develop learning media in the form of games using the PowerPoint program, commonly known as a presentation application.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi fenomena bias gender dalam pengembangan dan implementasi kecerdasan buatan (AI) dengan pendekatan komunikasi kritis. Dalam praktiknya, AI seringkali direpresentasikan melalui suara dan visual perempuan yang lembut, ramah, dan penurut. Representasi ini bukan hanya mencerminkan konstruksi sosial patriarkis, tetapi juga memperkuat stereotip gender yang mendiskreditkan perempuan sebagai entitas pasif. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bias gender muncul mulai dari proses pemilihan data pelatihan, algoritma yang digunakan, hingga keputusan desain oleh pengembang teknologi. Melalui analisis wacana kritis terhadap representasi AI, penelitian ini mengungkap bagaimana kekuasaan simbolik bekerja dan memperkuat ketimpangan gender. Ketika AI digunakan dalam proses rekrutmen, pengenalan wajah, atau distribusi layanan publik, bias yang terkandung dalam sistem dapat berdampak sistemik dan memperparah marginalisasi perempuan, terutama dari kelompok minoritas. Penelitian ini menyerukan pentingnya desain AI yang inklusif, etis, dan berkeadilan gender sebagai langkah menuju teknologi yang mampu mendorong kesetaraan sosial.
