Abstract

Resilience is a crucial element in helping teachers manage various pressures and demands stemming from dual roles as educators and homemakers. This study aims to examine the influence of self-efficacy and religiosity on resilience, as well as to test the moderating role of religiosity in the relationship between self-efficacy and resilience. The study involved 167 female teachers from state madrasahs in Medan City as respondents. Data collection was conducted through a survey using online questionnaires employing three measurement tools: the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), the Short Muslim Belief and Practice Scale (Short-MPBS), and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale-25 (CD-RISC-25). Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). This research offers novel insights into understanding resilience among female madrasah teachers by introducing religiosity as a moderating variable. The findings indicated that: 1) there is a positive relationship between self-efficacy, religiosity, and resilience; 2) religiosity does not moderate the relationship between self-efficacy and resilience. This study reveals that although religiosity serves as spiritual support, the dominance of self-efficacy highlights the importance of tangible actions in overcoming challenges. The study underscores the significance of building self-efficacy and provides new insights into developing support strategies for female madrasah teachers. Field data support the hypotheses.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the high behaviour of cyberbullying among adolescents. This research focuses on group counselling with the Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approach which aims to reduce cyberbullying behaviour in friends by helping them calm down to achieve their educational goals. This study uses a quantitative research design with quasi-experiments. To collect respondents used a purposive sampling method to obtain 30 students from all students of class XI. The instrument used in this study is the cyberbullying scale. The results of the study show that it is concluded that Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) can reduce cyberbullying behaviour, the approach used uses a more positive perspective on the counselee so that the counselee is treated as a "player" who actively determines the desired direction of change rather than a "patient" who must be handled.

Abstract

Self-confidence plays a pivotal role in developing an individual’s potentials. Solution-focused counseling approach views an individual as the only expert for his/her own life, and only they themselves are capable of making the best decision. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of solution-focused group counseling sessions in enhancing students' self-confidence. To this end, a pretest-posttest control group experimental study was conducted, involving twelve students of Public Islamic Senior High School 3 Langkat, who were assigned into two groups of six participants each. Data collected from self-confidence scale were analyzed using Wilcoxon Sign Test by identifying the difference in average improvement of self-confidence. The experimental group exhibited a significance value of 0.002 (< 0.005), indicating that the solution-focused group counseling could improve students’ self-confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services with problem solving techniques in increasing the motivation and learning discipline of tahfidz students in a madrasah environment. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving 20 purposively selected students from MTs Al-Washliyah Lubuk Amat, North Sumatra. Participants were divided into two groups: experimental and control. The experimental group attended six 60-minute structured group guidance sessions designed to foster self-awareness, identify learning barriers and formulate solutions independently. The intervention was designed by integrating the spiritual values and commitment that characterize tahfidz education. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test using a Likert scale questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability (r = 0.456-0.986; α = 0.871). The paired sample t-test results showed a statistically significant increase in scores in the experimental group (mean difference = 24.95; p = 0.000), with a very large effect size (Cohen's d = 2.51). These findings prove that problem-solving-based group guidance is effective in supporting the behavioral and cognitive development of students who face academic and spiritual demands simultaneously. Theoretically, this study integrates Bandura's self-efficacy theory with the Islamic counseling framework. Practically, this study presents an intervention model that can be replicated in educational institutions that organize tahfidz programs. This study fills a void in the literature related to structured psychopedagogical interventions in the context of religious value-based education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling services using the Creative Problem-Solving (CPS) technique in reducing academic stress levels among junior high school students. The background of this research is grounded in the high levels of academic pressure experienced by adolescents, including performance demands, social competition, and expectations from teachers and parents, all of which can trigger academic stress if not properly addressed. CPS, a technique previously widely applied in the development of creative learning, is adapted here as a psychopedagogical intervention strategy in the context of group counseling. This study employed a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 16 ninth-grade students from SMP Negeri 3 Percut Sei Tuan who were identified as having high levels of academic stress. They were selected using purposive sampling and divided into experimental and control groups. The instrument used was an academic stress scale based on four aspects: physiological, cognitive, affective, and conative. Validity and reliability tests showed that the instrument was both valid and reliable (r = 0.45–0.78; α = 0.86). Data analysis was conducted using a paired samples t-test and an independent samples t-test. The results revealed a significant reduction in academic stress scores in the experimental group, from M = 76.69 to M = 62.44 (p < 0.001), with a Cohen’s d of 2.64, indicating a very large effect size. Meanwhile, the control group did not show a significant change (p > 0.05). These findings demonstrate that the CPS technique in group counseling is effective both statistically and practically in reducing students' academic stress. This study offers a new contribution to the field of educational guidance and counseling by integrating a creative approach to help students manage academic pressures constructively and collaboratively.
