Abstract

This study aims to analyze the weight gain of premature babies and Low Birth Weight (LBW) babies after carrying out Kangaroo Method Treatment (PMK). The research method used is a systematic review through searching for articles from the ProQuest, ScienceDirect, PubMed, Sage Journal and Taylor & Francis Online databases. The results of the study showed that FMD intervention would be able to increase the weight of premature babies more than routine care. In conclusion, by doing PMK regularly, the baby's weight will increase. A duration of six hours has been proven to be more effective in increasing a baby's weight than a duration of one hour. PMK can be used as a cheap complementary care intervention for premature or low birth weight babies when care facilities are limited. Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the success of quitting smoking in adolescents through education provided in several countries regarding electronic cigarettes/VAPE. The method used is a systematic review with the PRISMA search strategy. Initial selection involved Sage Journals, Clinical Key, Scopus, and Proquest. The results of the research show that the ten journals in the review show high concern about smoking among school students, education increases knowledge about the dangers of smoking, although the desire to smoke still exists, education via social media according to the style of teenagers is more effective, there is still an opinion that VAPE is not dangerous such as tobacco cigarettes, and there is an effective signal for diversion methods to stop smoking such as yoga, as well as the importance of attention to teenagers, consistent evaluation and application of discipline in schools for not smoking, because it is found that teenagers imitate their parents, teachers and the school environment in terms of smoking. . The conclusion is that there is a need for consistency from health actors, government, education services and health institutions who are concerned about adolescent health to develop smoking cessation programs, the importance of strict laws and consistent evaluation of the interventions carried out. Abstract

This study aims to identify non-pharmacological interventions that can improve the functional status of cancer patients with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). The research method uses a systematic review through literature searches from 4 databases: SAGE, PUBMED, SCIENCE DIRECT, and PROQUEST. The research results show that from 12 research articles, non-pharmacological interventions to improve functional status in CIPN can be grouped into physical and non-physical interventions. Physical interventions include physical exercise and stimulation, while non-physical interventions are through self-management. In conclusion, physical intervention effectively reduces the pain scale and sensory symptoms of CIPN, which improves the patient's functional status and quality of life. However, in some literature, it is stated that a combination with pharmacological therapy can reduce CIPN complaints. Keywords: CIPN, Non-Pharmacological Intervention, Functional Status

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of integrating multiple oral motor stimulation interventions in facilitating the readiness for oral feeding among premature neonates.. A systematic review methodology was adapted for this inquiry. Extensive literature searches were conducted across prominent databases, including PubMed, EBSCO, Sage Journal, Taylor & Francis, Clinical Key for Nursing, and Proquest. A total of six articles, all randomized controlled trials, were selected and meticulously reviewed. The results of this systematic review indicate that the interventions employed include combinations of oral motor stimulation with supplementary nursing, kinesthetic tactile techniques, non-nutritive sucking (NNS), swallowing exercises, and sensorimotor stimulation. The findings suggest that these interventions are effective in enhancing oral feeding readiness by shortening the transition period to oral feeding and promoting breastfeeding fulfillment. Additionally, they have been shown to increase breastfeeding rates and reduce concurrently the duration of hospitalization. This research provides valuable insight for improving neonatal care and optimizing feeding practices. Keywords: Feeding Readiness, Oral Motor Stimulation, Premature Infants

Abstract

Background: The practice of infant and young children still does not meet the WHO guidelines, although different types of education have been carried out to increase mothers' knowledge of infant and young children's feeding practices. Objective: To identify the effectiveness of digital education and direct education in increasing the knowledge and practice of infants and children aged 6-23 months.Method: The research design is a systematic review using PRISMA flow. The databases used to search for articles in English published in the period 2013 to 2023 are Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and MEDLINE using the search keywords ‘Mother OR maternal’, ‘Children OR infants’, ‘Digital based AND health education method’, and ‘Complementary feeding’. A total of 461 articles were obtained using RCT, quasi-experiment, and combined RCT-cohort research designs. Researchers use the Covidence tool for the data selection process through the extraction. Risk of bias assessment uses the JBI instrument to evaluate articles. Results: Four articles detail the efficacy of digital-based education (utilizing smartphone applications, WeChat, WhatsApp, and digital job aid education), while five articles delve into the effectiveness of direct education approaches (peer counseling, personalized counseling, and home visits). Another article examines the effectiveness of both home visits and interactive voice calls. The research spanned multiple countries, including Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, China, Cambodia, Iran, and Brazil, encompassing a participant pool ranging from 110 to 1885 research subjects. Findings indicate that digital education enhances mothers’ understanding of nutrition, essential knowledge, practices in providing complementary feeding in line with IYCF guidelines, and mother’s confidence in preparing complementary foods. Moreover, direct education increased compliance with suggested feeding practices, encompassing dietary variety, intake of animal protein, and the consumption of iron-rich foods. Conclusion: Nurses can enhance knowledge and practice of complementary feeding by embracing digital education as a potential solution and concurrently promoting cultural sensitivity and tailored education.
