Abstract

Background: The practice of infant and young children still does not meet the WHO guidelines, although different types of education have been carried out to increase mothers' knowledge of infant and young children's feeding practices. Objective: To identify the effectiveness of digital education and direct education in increasing the knowledge and practice of infants and children aged 6-23 months.Method: The research design is a systematic review using PRISMA flow. The databases used to search for articles in English published in the period 2013 to 2023 are Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and MEDLINE using the search keywords ‘Mother OR maternal’, ‘Children OR infants’, ‘Digital based AND health education method’, and ‘Complementary feeding’. A total of 461 articles were obtained using RCT, quasi-experiment, and combined RCT-cohort research designs. Researchers use the Covidence tool for the data selection process through the extraction. Risk of bias assessment uses the JBI instrument to evaluate articles. Results: Four articles detail the efficacy of digital-based education (utilizing smartphone applications, WeChat, WhatsApp, and digital job aid education), while five articles delve into the effectiveness of direct education approaches (peer counseling, personalized counseling, and home visits). Another article examines the effectiveness of both home visits and interactive voice calls. The research spanned multiple countries, including Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, China, Cambodia, Iran, and Brazil, encompassing a participant pool ranging from 110 to 1885 research subjects. Findings indicate that digital education enhances mothers’ understanding of nutrition, essential knowledge, practices in providing complementary feeding in line with IYCF guidelines, and mother’s confidence in preparing complementary foods. Moreover, direct education increased compliance with suggested feeding practices, encompassing dietary variety, intake of animal protein, and the consumption of iron-rich foods. Conclusion: Nurses can enhance knowledge and practice of complementary feeding by embracing digital education as a potential solution and concurrently promoting cultural sensitivity and tailored education.

Abstract

This study aims to identify interventions that can be used in managing symptoms of post-chemotherapy nausea and vomiting in cancer patients. The method used was a systematic review by searching five databases including Google Scholar, Portal Garuda, Moraref, and Demension regarding what interventions can be done in dealing with nausea and vomiting conditions in cancer patients, with a publication range from 2000 to 2024. 7131 articles were obtained at the beginning of the data search, after filtering with the PRISMA 2020 method, the final result was 8 articles to be analysed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) checklist. Seven of these articles used intervention studies. The results of the study showed that there are several interventions that can be carried out. One of the most frequently used interventions is acupressure intervention and the use of aromatherapy in overcoming nausea and vomiting of cancer patients after chemotherapy. It is expected that nurses who work in the chemotherapy room can apply this intervention to patients who experience post-chemotherapy nausea and vomiting.

Cancer affects all aspects of a patient's life, not only the physical aspect, but also the psychological, social and spiritual aspects. Without spiritual well-being, the other dimensions of health (biopsychosocial) cannot function properly. So a study is needed that aims to find out whether spiritual care interventions can improve spiritual well-being. This study is a literature review using the PRISMA method. A literature search was conducted through the ProQuest, Science Direct, Scopus, EBSCO, and Clinical Key databases. From the initial search, 2389 articles were obtained from all databases combined. After eliminating multiple articles, screening titles and abstracts, 233 potential articles were obtained. After reading the full text, 220 articles were excluded and finally only 8 articles met the criteria. Seven out of eight articles mentioned that spiritual care interventions can improve the spiritual well-being of cancer patients. It was further concluded that spiritual care can be used as an intervention that can be applied clinically to improve spiritual well-being in cancer patients. Keywords: spiritual care intervention; spiritual well-being; cancer patient ABSTRAK Kanker mempengaruhi semua aspek kehidupan pasien, tah hanya aspek fisik, tetapi juga aspek psikologis, sosial, dan spiritual. Abstract

Cerebral palsy is generally caused by ischemia or hemorrhage of the brain blood vessels from the antenatal to the postnatal period. Multidimensional problems in children make him quickly experience negative stress. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of music therapy on stress in children with cerebral palsy. Research using the integrated literature review method took journals from 2012 to 2020 and only eight journals were the inclusion criteria. The results of a journal review show that music therapy given for 10 to 50 minutes to children with cerebral palsy can reduce anxiety, comfort, reduce depression, overcome sleep problems, increase curiosity, focus, not easily forget when studying, and dare to interact with other people. It can be concluded that music therapy is an inexpensive and easy way to deal with stress in children with cerebral palsy so that it can be the right choice when the child is undergoing treatment.

Abstract

A premature infant born with several health problems caused parents anxiety and stress. Developmental care was nursing care based on the infant’s neurodevelopment needs and family support. Qualified nursing care by implementing developmental care can be accessed through parent satisfaction of premature. This study aimed to recognize the relationship of developmental care implementation perceived by nurses with parent’s satisfaction of premature infants. This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design. The sample included 52 neonatal nurses and parents of premature infants used the consecutive sampling method. Data were collected using a questioner and analyzed using person correlation. The analysis results showed that there was a significant relationship between developmental care implementation with parent’s satisfaction of premature infants (p value=0,001). The implementation of developmental care to premature infants can improve the quality of care and increase parent’s satisfaction.

Abstract

Pediatric cancer patients are particularly vulnerable to oral health complications, primarily due to the adverse effects of chemotherapy. This treatment significantly influences both oral health and nutritional status, especially in children diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Chemotherapy can trigger a range of oral issues, including mucositis, dry mouth (xerostomia), and oral infections, which in turn can hinder proper nutritional intake and compromise overall health. This paper aims to investigate the impact of chemotherapy on oral health and nutrition in pediatric cancer patients, focusing on those with ALL. Through a literature review, the study examines the prevalence and types of oral complications and their effects on well-being. Relevant literature published between 2014 and 2024 was sourced from databases such as EBSCO, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, ProQuest, and Scopus. Using the PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcomes) framework, articles were selected and critically appraised by two independent reviewers. A descriptive method was employed to analyze the data. Out of 2,465 initially identified articles, eight were selected for in-depth analysis. The findings show that pediatric cancer patients face both immediate and long-term oral health issues, including dental abnormalities and jaw development problems. These complications can cause pain, eating difficulties, and social stigma, negatively affecting the child's quality of life. The study emphasizes the need for early oral health intervention, better training for healthcare providers, and the development of standardized oral care protocols. Future research should aim to assess the effectiveness of targeted oral health interventions in improving nutrition and overall quality of life in pediatric oncology patients.
