Abstract

Police education in the modern era faces increasingly complex challenges, requiring instructors to have pedagogical and professional competencies that are in line with the values of Tribrata and Catur Prasetya. However, there is still a gap between the ideal of active learning and the practice in the field, which tends to be teacher-centered, where the level of activity and critical thinking skills of students (Serdik) at the Gorontalo Regional Police Academy (SPN Polda Gorontalo) is still low. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Problem-Based Learning in improving the activity and critical thinking skills of Serdik. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data obtained through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study show that the application of PBL has begun to change the learning paradigm to be more reflective and participatory, although it still faces challenges in the form of instructor pedagogical readiness, training gaps, and infrastructure limitations. It is concluded that institutional support and continuous development of instructor competencies are the keys to the successful application of PBL in police education.

Abstract

Bullying among students is increasingly complex in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, especially in the form of digital bullying that affects students' mental health and character. This service activity aims to provide character education in response to this phenomenon, so that students are able to build awareness and resilience in facing digital social pressure. The service methods used include interactive lectures, value simulation, and case study-based mentoring. This activity involved 34 students as the main target and 3 resource persons as facilitators The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the form and impact of digital bullying, as well as the growth of concern and proactive attitude to create a safe school environment. Participants also showed improved ability to manage emotions, understand the importance of strong character, and not respond to pressure with aggressive actions. Based on these results, it is recommended that character education based on anti-bullying values continue to be strengthened through continuous habituation and training programs, in order to form a resilient and adaptive young generation in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the dynamics of women's leadership in the governance of private universities in Gorontalo Province, focusing on the challenges, strategies, and their contributions to the quality of management of higher education institutions. Although the discourse of gender equality is increasingly strengthening in the world of education, the representation of women in strategic positions is still relatively limited. A qualitative approach was used with a case study method through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document review in a number of private universities in Gorontalo. The results of the study indicate that women leaders have high adaptive capacity, build collaborative leadership models, and play an important role in driving institutional innovation. However, they still face various structural barriers, including gender stereotypes, patriarchal culture, and lack of internal policy support. This study concludes that empowering women's leadership not only has an impact on more inclusive and responsive governance, but also on improving the academic quality and governance of universities as a whole. The implications of these findings encourage the need for affirmative policies and institutional cultural transformation to strengthen participation in higher education leadership structures.

Abstract

Social change and technological development place education in a strategic position for shaping citizens’ character based on Pancasila values. The success of Pancasila Education learning is greatly influenced by teachers’ ability to manage the classroom effectively. This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by Pancasila Education teachers in managing classrooms for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Gorontalo and to identify the inhibiting factors encountered during the learning process. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. The research informants consisted of three Pancasila Education teachers and ten seventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results indicate that teachers implement various classroom management strategies, including democratic, inclusive, constructivist, positive, and proactive approaches, to create a participatory and conducive learning environment. However, classroom management still faces several challenges originating from teacher-related factors, such as limited variation in teaching methods and pedagogical competence, as well as student-related factors associated with discipline and learning responsibility. This study confirms that adaptive and humanistic classroom management strategies play a crucial role in enhancing student learning engagement while supporting the internalization of Pancasila values in the learning process

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop a cultural and civic literacy model based on character habituation that is systematically integrated into the learning process, in order to address the dominance of reading–writing and numeracy literacy, and to strengthen the sustained internalization of values in the character development of elementary school students Methodology: This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research subjects included students and teachers from three public elementary schools in Pulubala Subdistrict, Gorontalo Regency. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques, with effectiveness tested using the N-Gain score Main Findings: The results indicate that the implementation of cultural and civic literacy in elementary schools remains fragmented and is not yet supported by systematic instructional design. Based on needs analysis, students require contextual, simple, visually-based learning that is integrated with local culture. The developed model, LITBUD-KAR, has a very high level of validity (>92%), practicality, and user acceptance (>96%), and is effective in increasing student engagement, understanding of cultural and civic values, and character development, with an N-Gain value of 0.75 (high category) Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study lies in the development of a cultural and civic literacy model based on character habituation, which is systematically integrated across intracurricular, co-curricular, extracurricular, and school culture dimensions.

Abstract

Students' learning outcomes are not always related to the teacher's teaching methods, but are influenced by cognitive and non-cognitive variables that play a role in the achievement of student learning outcomes. Therefore, the implementation of diagnostic assessments is needed to identify and overcome these problems. This research aims to see the results of the implementation of cognitive and non-cognitive-based diagnostic assessments in Pancasila and Citizenship Education subjects at SMPN 22 Wekari. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Primary data sources were obtained from teachers and students, while secondary data were collected through analysis of reports on the implementation of diagnostic assessments, journals, and relevant books. Data analysis techniques were carried out by data reduction, data display, and verification. The results showed that in the cognitive diagnostic assessment, although students' scores in general had reached the standard, there were still a number of students who had not shown maximum understanding of the material. This was influenced by high absenteeism and delays in completing assignments. In the non-cognitive diagnostic assessment, students' learning styles are more dominant in visual style compared to kinesthetic and auditory styles. For learning interests, students were more dominant in the subjects of Maths, Civics, Science, PE, Religion, Social Studies, and Cultural Arts. This study confirms that the non-achievement of learning outcomes is caused by the gap between learning styles and learning interests in Pancasila and Citizenship Education subjects. The recommendation from this study is for education units to conduct interest mapping to maximise student learning outcomes at SMPN 22 Wekari. Keywords: Diagnostic Assessment, Cognitive, Non-Cognitive
