Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the conceptual change model with a cognitive conflict approach on concept mastery & self-regulation of class X students in biology subjects. The quasi-experimental method with posttest only controls group design. The research population is students of class X Mathematics & Natural Sciences, class X Mathematics & Natural Sciences 1 as the experimental class, & X Mathematics & Natural Sciences 2 as the control class. Data collection techniques with concept mastery tests & self-regulation questionnaires. Data analysis used an independent sample t-test. Based on the results of the study, the average value of mastery of concepts in the experimental class was 71.14, & the control class was 65.52. The average selfregulation in the experimental class was 73.29, in the control class it was 65.91. Independent sample t-test test shows that p-value> 0.05. This means that there is an influence of the conceptual change model with a cognitive conflict approach on concept mastery & self-regulation in class X in biology subjects.Keywords: conceptual change, conflict cognitive approach, mastery of concepts, self-regulation DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i1.pp100-110

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh adanya permasalahan pengambilan keputusan karir pada peserta didik di sekolah. Permasalahan ini terdapat pada peserta didik kelas VIII reguler di MTsN 1 Bandar Lampung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis bagaimana penerapan konseling kelompok dengan teknik role playing terhadap pengambilan keputusan karir peserta didik di MTsN 1 Bandar Lampung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ini adalah kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus multikasus.Adapun prosedur pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 1) proses pelaksanaan konseling kelompok teknik role playing yang dilakukan sesuai dengan tahapan-tahapan. Peneliti menggunakan tahapan-tahapan melaksanakan konseling kelompok beberapa tahapan antara lain, tahap praconseling, tahap permulaan, tahap transiksi, tahap kerja, tahap akhir dan tahap pascakonseling. Dan tahapan role playing antara lain, pemanasan, memilih partisipan (peran), mengatur setting tempat kejadian, menyiapkan obsever, pemeranan, diskusi dan evaluasi, pemeranan kembali, diskusi dan evaluasi, bebagi pengalaman dan melakukan generalisasi. 2) hambatan dalam proses pelaksanaan konseling kelompok teknik role playing yang dilaksanakan oleh peneliti sendiri hambatan yang dirasakan peserta didik ialah susuh untuk memahami naskah dan belum mengerti cara malakukan role playing, dan belum mengerti mengenai konseling kelompok

Abstract

Literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan merupakan kompetensi esensial yang perlu dimiliki peserta didik dalam menghadapi permasalahan lingkungan global melalui pembelajaran biologi. Namun, praktik pembelajaran di sekolah belum sepenuhnya mampu mengembangkan kedua kompetensi tersebut secara optimal. Salah satu pendekatan yang berpotensi meningkatkan literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan adalah pendekatan STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan pendekatan STEAM dalam pembelajaran Biologi terhadap literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan peserta didik kelas X SMA. Penelitian menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan populasi seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung. Sampel ditentukan melalui teknik cluster random sampling, dengan kelas X.4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X.5 sebagai kelas kontrol, masing-masing berjumlah 30 peserta didik. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui tes literasi sains dan angket sikap peduli lingkungan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan STEAM berpengaruh terhadap literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan dari peserta didik (p < 0,05).

Abstract

Salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki anak untuk dapat belajar di abad ke-21 adalah literasi lingkungan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Awareness Training berbasis asesmen kinerja terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa kelas X biologi di SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Quasy Experimental Design dan bersifat kuantitatif. Strategi pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling dari semua kelas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan sebanyak dua kali dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa soal tes dan survei literasi lingkungan, baik untuk tes awal (pretest) maupun tes akhir (posttest). Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah Independent Samples Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan peningkatan signifikan sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, model pembelajaran Awareness Training berbasis asesmen kinerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa. Berdasarkan simpulan penelitian, model pembelajaran Awareness Training berbasis asesmen kinerja memberikan pengaruh terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa kelas X di SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

Initial research indicates that students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in biology remain low, primarily due to a lack of integration between science and everyday life, as well as the continued dominance of traditional teaching methods. This study aims to analyze students' higher-order thinking skills using SOLO taxonomy to gain deeper insights into their cognitive achievements in solving HOTS questions. The researcher employed a stratified random sampling technique. Four schools were selected to ensure the research sample represents the general characteristics of all schools in Bandar Lampung City. By choosing schools with diverse backgrounds, such as accreditation, geographical location, and learning support facilities, the study results can better reflect the actual conditions of the broader school population. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and tests. This qualitative research utilized data analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on the findings. The study results indicate that the average higher-order thinking skills of students in schools A, B, C, and D, based on SOLO taxonomy, are at the multistructural level at 41.37%, the relational level at 28.88%, and the extended abstract level at 28.75%. A total of 41.37% of students demonstrated medium-level higher-order thinking skills, while 57.63% fell into the high category. A key finding of this study is that the extended abstract indicator had the lowest average compared to other indicators. This is attributed to the more complex demands of the questions, which require students to evaluate, synthesize, and apply concepts in new contexts tasks they rarely encounter.

Abstract

Environmental degradation driven by low community awareness and limited sustainable practices poses a critical challenge for local development. This community engagement program aims to bridge the gap between environmental knowledge (eco-literacy) and practical action (eco-action) by empowering residents to innovate environmentally friendly products. Specifically, the program integrates eco-literacy training with hands-on technical skills in ecoprint production and the conversion of used cooking oil into eco-friendly candles. The activities, conducted in Paya Village, Pesawaran Regency, involved 60 participants, including fifth-grade elementary students, housewives, and village youth groups. A participatory action approach was implemented through three main stages: (1) socialization to enhance eco-literacy, (2) direct training on eco-product innovation, and (3) mentoring and evaluation of product quality and sustainability impact. The outcomes demonstrate a significant improvement in participants’ eco-literacy and technical competence in creating value-added eco-products, utilizing leaf and flower waste for ecoprint designs and used cooking oil for aromatic candles. Beyond waste reduction, the initiative fostered alternative income opportunities and reinforced intergenerational collaboration between youth and adults. The novelty of this program lies in its dual integration of eco-literacy education and product innovation through intergenerational learning, advancing previous community service models that typically focused on either environmental education or product-based empowerment. This approach highlights the transformative potential of linking environmental awareness with entrepreneurial sustainability and recommends replication in other community-based economic–ecological resilience programs.
