Abstract

The parameters of a nation's success can be evaluated by how revolution 4.0 education advances science and technology. This is also a new difficulty in the educational realm. In order to prepare for Revolution 4.0, students must have talents as provisions. Contextual learning is one way for helping students enhance their critical and creative thinking skills. Simple harmonic motion is one of the ideas that is relevant to everyday life, hence there are many contextual problems that may be handled. To enhance students' critical and creative thinking skills, the researchers developed interactive learning media focused on the concept of simple harmonic motion. The type of research was research and development (R&D) with ADDIE model. This study examined at interactive learning media oriented at critical and creative thinking skills on the concept of simple harmonic motion. The research goal was to create learning media with critical and creative thinking skills based on the simple harmonic motion concepts. The product validity was reviewed by three physics lecturer at FMIPA UNP. Product validity has an average value of 0.83 in the very valid category.

Abstract

Science literacy is one of the keys to facing the development of today's era. The importance of science literacy ability makes Indonesia take part in assessments conducted by international institutions. Based on the report of the international study conducted by PISA, it shows that the science literacy of students in Indonesia is still low and still far from the average international score. The purpose of this study was to determine the initial ability of students' science literacy on the material of optical devices in senior high school. This research used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach with a sample of 31 students in senior high school. The results of this study indicate that the average value of students' science literacy in the aspects of context, competence, and knowledge aspects is still low. The results of the context aspect research on personal, local, and global indicators obtained average scores of 47.75, 18.27, and 25.68. While the competency aspect on indicators of explaining scientific phenomena, evaluating and designing research, and interpreting data and scientific evidence obtained an average value of 28.57, 32.04, and 29.08, while the knowledge aspect on content, procedural, and epistemic indicators obtained an average value of 42.67, 32, and 16.53. Thus, there is a need for learning designs that apply science knowledge in life that can improve science literacy ability and assessment instruments to evaluate related science literacy ability.

Abstract

Thinking skills have become the basis for implementing learning in the 21st century. Efforts that can be made to apply critical thinking skills are using teaching materials. However, no known teaching material*  includes indicators of critical thinking skills. This study the availability of critical thinking skills indicators in teaching materials. Therefore, analytical research was conducted on the availability of critical thinking skills indicators in one type of teaching material, namely printed books. This type of research is descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The population determined in this study is the textbook for physics in high school class XI which was found in SMAN throughout the city of Padang. The research sample was physics books for class XI, which were mostly found in SMANs in Padang City. The research data was obtained by using an analysis sheet in high school physics books for class XI. Data analysis results obtained are book X with a percentage of 56.38%, book Y with 48.78%, and book Z with 56.14%. The criteria for critical thinking skills indicators in the three books are quite available.

Abstract

The development of e-modules based on discovery learning is needed to achieve the demands of education in era 4.0. The purpose of this study is to conduct a needs analysis on the development of e-modules with a discovery learning base for renewable energy material. This research is included in the type of survey research through the use of quantitative research methods. The population in this study were all class X students of SMAN 9 Padang through a research sample of 27 students. The research was conducted in February 2023. Techniques in collecting data through the use of questionnaires designed with a modified Likert scale of 4 answer options, namely strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. From the results of this student analysis, it can be concluded that students need e-module development based on discovery learning for renewable energy material.

Abstract

As technology develops, developments in the education sector are also made to keep pace. One effort that can be made to develop education is to implement education that is integrated with 4C (Critical Thinking, Creative, Communication, and Collaboration) and using a case based reasoning (CBR) approach. Based on data found in the field, schools that have not implemented 4C in learning have learning outcomes that are still relatively low, so an e-book chapter was designed on integrated 4C CBR-oriented momentum and collision material for class X. This research aims to develop an electronic book 4C oriented which integrates CBR in physics subjects in class . This research was carried out using the ADDIE development model which consists of the Analysis, Design, Development and Evaluation stages. Each stage can be evaluated if necessary. The results of the study obtained data on the validity of the contents and constructs of the product by experts as well as the results of the practicality test in schools filled by physics subject teachers and class X students. The validation results carried out by the validator stated that the results of the e-book chapter product design were in the very category. So the product is valid.

Abstract

The Development of Interactive Learning Media in the 2013 Curriculum is a government effort to ensure that students have 21st-century skills. The goal of the conducted research is to develop valid interactive learning media on the topic of Newton's Law of Gravity. A field study revealed that students' critical and creative thinking skills in Newton's Law of Gravity were still low. Therefore, the existing problem was addressed by producing a product in the form of integrated learning media that fostered critical and creative thinking skills for high school students. The research conducted followed the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which was reduced to the Implementation stage. Three Physics lecturers from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education at State University of Padang (UNP) were involved in this research as validators, along with six Physics teachers from Padang City as practitioners. Validity test sheets were used as the data collection instrument in this research. During the data analysis phase, instrument validation and product validation were performed using the V Aiken Model Technique. The research results showed that the validated development instrument for the product category was valid. The average validity test score for the product was 0.79, which falls into the valid category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the interactive learning media developed in this study is considered valid.

Abstract

The 21st century demands reforms in education, especially in developing HOTS abilities. Based on observation data at SMAN Kota Padang, students' learning achievements that contain HOTS indicators have not been implemented well. The solution is to develop an instrument to test the availability of HOTS indicators in learning media. The research aims to produce an instrument for the availability of HOTS indicators in learning media. The development model for this research is the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). The use of the ADDIE development model is only limited to the development stage. The first stage is to conduct a needs analysis through questionnaires and interviews. The second stage is designing instrument indicators. Next, instruments are developed based on indicators. The third stage is testing the validity of the instrument. The instrument was validated by three experts from Physics lecturers at Padang State University. The results of the validity test obtained a valid instrument. Therefore, this instrument is suitable to be used to analyze the availability of HOTS indicators in the media.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the significance of creating a comprehensive electronic module on project-based learning (PjBL) focused on climate change and global warming. As a result, an initial investigation was undertaken within this research, comprising a review of existing literature and on-site data collection. The research carried out was a type of qualitative descriptive research. Research data was obtained from analyzing teacher needs through interviews and analyzing student needs through filling out questionnaires. The PjBL integrated e-module developed consists of text, images, videos, interactive quizzes, and assignment collection templates via g-form. The development of e-modules is aimed at supporting students to learn independently. During its creation, the e-module made use of the Flip PDF Professional software application. A requirement assessment was conducted to gather insights about the physics learning procedure, the utilization of instructional resources in physics education, and the requisites of students and educators for educational materials (e-modules). From the needs analysis of 51 classes, As many as 80% of students felt that the teacher's explanation alone was not enough. Apart from that, 86% of students need a long time to understand the material on climate change and global warming. Thus, it is necessary to develop an integrated PjBL e-module on climate change and global warming material.
