Abstract

 ABSTRAK Daun rambai laut (Sonneratia caseolaris L.) diketahui  mempunyai kandungan senyawa flavonoid yang memiliki aktivitas farmakologis. Perbedaan jenis pelarut mempengaruhi kandungan metabolit skunder yang dihasilkan daun  rambai laut. Hal ini menunjukan membutuhkan pengendalian mutu kualitas simplisia dan jenis pelarut, sehingga bisa mendapatkan metabolite sekunder yang berkualitas/baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui nilai rendemen dan kadar flavonoid total ekstrak daun rambai laut menggunakan variasi pelarut yaitu etanol 70%, etil asetat dan N-hexane. Daun rambai laut segar diperoleh dari kota semarang dengan spesifikasi daun yang berwarna hijau tua. Ekstraksi daun rambai laut dilakukan menggunakan metode sokhletasi dan dilanjutkan perhitungan rendemen. Ekstrak daun rambai laut didentifikasi secara kualitatif dan ditentukan kadar flavonoid totalnya. Pengujian flavonoid total secara kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil rendemen ekstrak daun rambai laut dengan menggunakan variasi pelarut yaitu ekstrak etanol 70% sebesar 3.4%, ekstrak etil asetat 7.87% dan n-heksan 4.07%. Kadar flavonoid total ekstrak daun rambai laut dengan menggunakan variasi pelarut adalah etanol 70% sebesar 64.05mgQE/g, etil asetat 164.50 mgQE/g dan n-heksan 141.97 mgQE/g. Ekstrak daun rambai laut terdapat pengaruh suatu perbedaan terhadap nilai rendemen dan kadar flavonoid total yang tertinggi menggunakan pelarut etil asetat dibandingkan dengan menggunakan pelarut n-heksan dan etanol 70%.Kata Kunci    : Rambai Laut, Flavonoid, Etanol, Etil asetat, n-heksan

Abstract

Skin cancer cases in Indonesia include health problems with a prevalence rate of 7%, and many chemical-based sunscreen preparations have many side effects, so solutions are needed to maximize the use of natural ingredients that have sunscreen activity through a purification process that aims to purify sample from impurities to effectively protect the skin from exposure to UV rays. The purpose of this study was to analyze the sunscreen activity of telang flower extract based on the effect of purification solvents. The research method used is an experimental laboratory with research samples namely telang flower (Clitoria ternatea L.). Telang flower was extracted by maceration with 96% ethanol as solvent and purified using n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and mixture as solvent. The three purified extracts were measured for absorbance using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 290-320nm to determine the SPF value. The highest SPF value for n-hexane purified extract at a concentration of 300 ppm was 9.36 maximum category, mixed purified extract concentration of 300 ppm was 8.59 maximum category, and ethyl acetate purified extract with 300 ppm concentration was 7.38 Extra category. The results of statistical analysis using the T-test showed a significant difference between the three purified extracts with a significance value of <0.05.ABSTRAKKasus kanker kulit di Indonesia termasuk masalah kesehatan dengan angka prevalensinya sebesar 7%, serta banyak sediaan tabir surya berbahan dasar kimia mempunyai banyak efek samping, sehingga dibutuhkan pemecahan solusi untuk memaksimalkan penggunaan bahan alam yang memiliki aktivitas tabir surya melalui proses purifikasi yang bertujuan untuk memurnikan suatu sampel dari pengotor sehingga efektif melindungi kulit dari paparan sinar UV. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis aktivitas tabir surya ekstrak bunga telang berdasarkan pengaruh pelarut purifikasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimental laboratorium dengan sampel penelitian yaitu bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea L.). Bunga telang diekstraksi secara maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96% dan dipurifikasi menggunakan pelarut n-heksana, etil asetat, dan campuran. Ketiga ekstrak terpurifikasi diukur absorbansinya menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 290-320nm untuk dapat ditentukan nilai SPF-nya. Nilai SPF tertinggi pada ekstrak terpurifikasi n-heksan pada konsentrasi 300 ppm sebesar 9,36 kategori maksimal, ekstrak terpurifikasi campuran konsentrasi 300 ppm sebesar 8,59 kategori maksimal, dan ekstrak terpurifikasi etil asetat konsentrasi 300 ppm sebesar 7,38 kategori Ekstra. Hasil analisis statistika menggunakan uji-T menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara ketiga ekstrak terpurifikai dengan nilai signifikansi <0,05.

Abstract

Ginger is a one of rhizome herbal plant that has many health benefits. Consumption of ginger both directly and through the manufacture of ginger-based products has also increased during the pandemic and after the pandemic. The utilization of yard land that is less than optimal and the low selling of ginger are the main problems faced by the Women Farmer Group "Dewi Sri" in Kemetul Village, which are the background for the implementation of Community Service activities carried out by the Himafarsi Service Team, Ngudi Waluyo University. The activity was carried out through Training on Breeding and Making Ginger Drink Products with the target partner of the Women Farmers Group (KWT) “Dewi Sri” Kemetul Village. The method of implementing the program is done offline and online. The results of the Service activities can be seen through the success indicators which show an increase in participants' knowledge by 64%. Community Service Activities have resulted in activity outputs in the form of ginger seeds in polybags on the pilot land and beverage products in the form of instant ginger powder with the basic ingredients of Red Ginger and Emprit Ginger which have been through hedonic tests by respondents. ABSTRAKJahe merupakan salah satu tanaman herbal jenis rimpang yang memiliki banyak khasiat bagi kesehatan. Konsumsi terhadap jahe baik secara langsung maupun melalui pembuatan produk berbahan dasar jahe juga meningkat selama pandemi berlangsung maupun pasca pandemi. Pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan yang kurang maksimal serta rendahnya harga jual jahe merupakan permasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh Kelompok Wanita Tani Dewi Sri Desa Kemetul menjadi latar belakang pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang dilaksanakan oleh Tim Pengabdian Himafarsi Universitas Ngudi Waluyo. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui Pelatihan Pembibitan dan Pembuatan Produk Minuman Jahe dengan mitra sasaran Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Dewi Sri Desa Kemetul. Metode pelaksanaan program dilakukan secara offline dan online. Hasil kegiatan Pengabdian dapat dilihat melalui indikator keberhasilan yang menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta sebesar 64%. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat telah menghasilkan output kegiatan berupa bibit jahe dalam polybag pada lahan percontohan dan produk minuman berupa serbuk jahe instan dengan bahan dasar Jahe Merah dan Jahe Emprit yang telah melalui uji hedonik oleh responden.

Abstract

Kemetul Village is one of the villages located in Susukan District, Semarang Regency. Based on the results of a survey from target partners, it is known that residents of Kemetul Village have never received information about stunting, causes and dangers. Target partners have never received education about the importance of preventing stunting during the 1000 days of a toddler's life and the use of herbal plants to improve toddler nutrition. This community service program was carried out using educational methods for housewives in Kemetul Village, Susukan District, Semarang Regency. The number of participants who took part in educational activities was 30 participants consisting of housewives and several elderly people. The percentage of participants' evaluation results before being given education fell into the category of less understanding at 56.6%, quite understanding 26.6%, good understanding 16.6% and very good 0%. Participants' understanding increased after being given education, namely being included in the very good category at 53.3%, good at 43.3%, fair at 3.3% and poor at 0%. Based on the participant understanding questionnaire, it was found that after being given education there was an increase in participants' understanding of stunting by 96.6%.   ABSTRAK                 Desa Kemetul merupakan salah satu Desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Susukan, Kabupaten Semarang. Berdasarkan hasil survey kepada mitra sasaran diketahui warga Desa Kemetul belum pernah mendapatkan informasi terkait stunting, penyebab dan bahayanya. Mitra sasaran belum pernah mendapatkan edukasi tentang pentingnya pencegahan stunting pada 1000 hari kehidupan Balita serta pemanfaatan tanaman herbal untuk meningkatkan gizi balita. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdiaan kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan metode edukasi pada ibu rumah tangga di Desa Kemetul, Kecamatan Susukan, Kabupaten Semarang. Jumlah peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan edukasi yaitu 30 peserta yang terdiri dari ibu rumah tangga dan beberapa lansia. Persentase hasil evaluasi peserta sebelum diberikan edukasi masuk dalam kategori kurang paham sebanyak 56,6%, cukup paham 26,6%, pemahaman yang baik 16,6% dan sangat baik 0%. Pemahaman peserta mengalami peningkatan setelah diberikan edukasi yaitu termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik sebesar 53,3%, baik 43,3%, cukup 3,3% dan kurang sebanyak 0%. Berdasarkan kuesioner pemahaman peserta diketahui bahwa setelah diberikan edukasi terdapat peningkatan pemahaman tentang penyakit stunting sebesar 96,6%.

Abstract

Medinilla speciosa or Parijoto was contains flavonoid which known as a strong antioxidant compound so can be used as an active agent in cosmetic formulation. Antioxidant compounds have ability as free radicals scavenger. Facial wash gel cosmetic formulation are in great demand to clean facial skin to the maximum extent to the pores. The research aims to evaluate the physical stability and antioxidant activity using DPPH method with IC50 parameter. This research is an experimental post design research with maceration as extraction method. Concentration of parijoto fruit gel facial wash formulation were F1 (0.5%), F2 (1%), and F3 (1.5%). Physical stability test for 5 cycles of 10 days which includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, viscosity test, foam height test, and antioxidant activity evaluation using DPPH and quercetin as standart. The results of physical stability in the accelerated test for 10 days showed that the preparation was stable during storage (p-value>0.05). Antioxidant activity of Formula 1 (0.5%) obtained IC50 value of 155.32 ppm (very weak), Formula 2 (1%) obtained IC50 value of 137.79 (medium), and Formula 3 (1.5%) obtained IC50 value of 96.17 ppm (strong). The IC50 value of quercetin was obtained at 4.19 ppm (very strong), parijoto fruit extract at 33.13 ppm (very strong), and positive control (market product) at 37.18 ppm (very strong). Keywords : Antioxidant, Facial wash, Flavonoids, Gel, Parijoto, Stability

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rendemen ekstrak metode maserasi selama 3 dan 5 hari sebesar 24,66% dan 24,88%, sedangkan metode digesti selama 3 dan 6 jam sebesar 10,06% dan 16,59%. Nilai Rf kuersetin sebesar 0,80, dengan nilai Rf ekstrak berturut-turut 0,41; 0,65; 0,68; dan 0,80. Kadar flavonoid total pada metode maserasi 3 dan 5 hari sebesar 61,40 mgQE/g dan 67,62 mgQE/g, sedangkan metode digesti 3 dan 6 jam sebesar 64,45 mgQE/g dan 73,32 mgQE/g. Uji statistik menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p<0,05), dengan kadar flavonoid tertinggi diperoleh dari metode digesti selama 6 jam. Dengan demikian, metode dan lama ekstraksi berpengaruh terhadap kadar flavonoid total dalam ekstrak buah bit.

Abstract

Antioxidant activity of Ginger Emprit (Zingiber Officinale Var Arrum) with the presence of flavonoid compounds with low solubility and permeability characteristics that can be overcome with self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS). The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of speeds using a high-pressure homogeniser on the characteristics of SNEDDS Ginger Emprit (Zingiber Officinale Var Arrum). The method of preparation was carried out with a mixture of VCO, Tween 80, and PEG 400 (1:5:1) and Emprit Ginger Extract at speeds of 5000, 10,000 and 15,000 rpm for 15 minutes. The analysis of the result was carried out statistically using SPSS ANOVA the Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test. The characteristics of SEDDS are seen from the particle size, PDI value, transmittance percentage, and emulsification time. The results showed that the SNEDDS preparation had emulsification times of 9.767 seconds, 13.903 seconds, and 6.126 seconds, particle sizes of each formula is 129.326 nm, 265.20 nm, and 279.60 nm, transmittance percentages of each formula is 46.658%, 23.729%, and 23.575%, and polydispersity index values are 0.964, 0.822, and 0.554. The results of statistical analysis showed that there was a significant difference between speeds of 10.000 rpm and 15.000 rpm.   ABSTRAK Aktivitas antioksidan jahe emprit (Zingiber Officinale Var Arrum) dipengaruhi oleh senyawa flavonoid dengan sifat kelarutan dan permeabilitas yang rendah sehingga dapat diperbaiki dengan sistem penghantaran SNEDDS. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecepatan pembuatan menggunakan homogenizer tekanan tinggi terhadap karakteristik SNEDDS Jahe Emprit. Metode pembuatan dilakukan dengan mencampurkan VCO, Tween 80, dan PEG 400 (1:5:1) dan Ekstrak Jahe Emprit pada kecepatan 5000, 10.000 dan 15.000 rpm selama 15 menit. Analisa Hasil Pengujian dilakukan secara statistika menggunakan SPPS ANOVA dan uji Kruskal-Wallis dan Mann-Whitney. Karakteristik SNEDDS dilihat dari ukuran droplet, nilai PDI, persen transmitan, dan waktu emulsifikasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sediaan SEDDS memiliki waktu emulsifikasi 9,767 detik, 13,903 detik, dan 6,126 detik, ukuran droplet masing-masing formula 129,326 nm, 265,20 nm, dan 279,60 nm, persen transmittan masing-masing formula 46,658%, 23,729%, dan 23,575%, dan nilai indeks polidispersitas adalah 0,964, 0,822, dan 0,554. Hasil analisa statistika menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kecepatan 10.000 rpm dan 15.000 rpm

Abstract

Sunlight plays an important role in the formation of vitamin D, bones, and teeth. However, continuous exposure to UV rays has adverse effects on healthy skin. The Semarang area, Central Java is an area with a tropical climate that has high sunlight intensity. This is the basis for the use of sunscreen when doing activities indoors and outdoors. Sunscreen or sunscreen is a preparation that can reflect or absorb UV rays. The use of sunscreen since adolescence aims to protect the skin from UV exposure, and efforts to prevent premature aging and skin cancer. However, adolescents' knowledge about the types of UV rays, types of sunscreens, and the selection of SPF sunscreens that can be used for daily activities is still limited. Providing counseling and education related to sunscreen can be done as an effort to prevent the harmful effects of UV rays. The activity was carried out on students of SMA Muhammadiyah Gubug in October 2024. The instrument in providing the material was a PowerPoint containing educational materials and videos, while the Google Form platform was used to conduct the pre-test and post-test. The results of this community service showed an increase in students' knowledge of sunscreen use as seen from the pre- and post-test scores. The results showed an increase in respondents' knowledge (35%) before and after providing the material, so it can be said that the counseling and education were successful in increasing knowledge.

Abstract

An imbalance between the body's antioxidant system capacity and free radical production can lead to oxidative stress, which ultimately causes the lipid peroxidation process. This phenomenon is commonly identified by increased superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and reduced malondialdehyde (MDA) concentrations. The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of ethanolic papaya seed (Carica papaya L.) extract in modulating SOD and MDA levels in the heart tissue of male Sprague-Dawley rats subjected to a high-fat diet over 17 days. A total of 30 rats were used and allocated into six groups: a positive control (K+), a negative control (K−), a standard control (KN), and three treatment arms receiving oral doses of 150 mg/kgBW (P1), 250 mg/kgBW (P2), and 350 mg/kgBW (P3). The extraction process employed 70% ethanol through maceration. The lowest MDA average was recorded in the P3 group (3.50±1.65), whereas the K-group exhibited the highest level (24.45±4.71). In terms of SOD, the K+ group had the highest mean (65.46±5.93), and the K− group the lowest (36.34±7.57). Statistical analysis using Tukey’s test showed that administration of 350 mg/kg body weight extract yielded results closely resembling those of the positive control. However, the observed differences did not reach statistical significance (p > 0.05). The conclusion is that administration of papaya seed extract at a dose of 350 mg/kgBW has the potential to reduce MDA levels and increase SOD levels, with effects similar to positive controls.   ABSTRAK Tidak seimbangnya antara kapasitas sistem antioksidan tubuh dan produksi radikal bebas dapat mengakibatkan kearah stres oksidatif, yang pada akhirnya menyebabkan proses peroksidasi lipid. Keadaan ini ditandai oleh aktivitas enzim superoxide dismutase (SOD) yang meningkat dan konsentrasi malondialdehida (MDA) yang menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi potensi ekstrak etanol biji pepaya (Carica papaya L.) dalam memodulasi kadar SOD dan MDA pada jaringan jantung tikus jantan galur Sprague Dawley yang diberi diet tinggi lemak pada rentang waktu 17 hari. Penelitian ini memakai desain eksperimental dengan melibatkan 30 ekor tikus, yang dikelompokkan menjadi enam: kelompok kontrol positif (K+), kontrol negatif (K−), kontrol normal (KN), serta tiga kelompok perlakuan dengan dosis bertingkat yaitu 150 mg/kgBB (P1), 250 mg/kgBB (P2), dan 350 mg/kgBB (P3). Ekstrak diperoleh melalui metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Hasil analisis menyatakan bahwa kadar MDA terendah ditemukan pada kelompok P3 (3,50±1,65), sedangkan kadar tertinggi terdapat pada kelompok K− (24,45±4,71). Sebaliknya, kadar SOD tertinggi dicatat pada kelompok K+ (65,46±5,93) dan terendah pada kelompok K− (36,34±7,57). Berdasarkan uji lanjut Tukey, pemberian ekstrak biji pepaya dosis 350 mg/kgBB (P3) memberikan hasil yang secara statistik mendekati kelompok kontrol positif, meskipun belum menyatakan perbedaan bermakna (p > 0,05). Kesimpulannya adalah pemberian ekstrak biji pepaya dosis 350 mg/kgBB memiliki potensi pada penurunan kadar MDA dan meningkatkan kadar SOD, dengan efek yang menyerupai kontrol positif.
