Abstract

The advancement of technology-based financial services has significantly shaped consumer behavior, particularly among Generation Z. One such innovation gaining widespread use is the PayLater feature, which allows users to make purchases and defer payments to a later time. This study investigates the influence of financial literacy and lifestyle on the consumptive behavior of Shopee PayLater users, while also examining the moderating role of self-control. A quantitative research approach was employed by distributing online questionnaires to Generation Z individuals living in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek), targeting a sample size of 224 respondents. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with a Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach. The results revealed that lifestyle has a positive and significant impact on consumptive behavior (t = 3.768; p = 0.000). Conversely, both financial literacy and self-control were found to have a negative and significant effect on consumptive behavior (t = 3.383 and 3.746; p = 0.001 and 0.000). Furthermore, self-control was shown to moderate the relationship by weakening the influence of both financial literacy and lifestyle on consumptive tendencies (t = 2.602 and 2.447; p = 0.009 and 0.014). All proposed hypotheses were supported by the findings, highlighting the critical role of enhancing financial literacy and strengthening self-control as key strategies to curb excessive spending behaviors among Generation Z. These insights are expected to serve as valuable input for PayLater service providers in developing more responsible and educational features tailored to the behavioral patterns of younger consumers.

The research is motivated by the growing use of e-wallets in Indonesia, particularly DANA, which calls for a deeper understanding of the factors influencing user loyalty and continued usage. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method and an instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed online to active DANA users in the DKI Jakarta area. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of SmartPLS software. The results show that Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Security have a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction. Furthermore, User Satisfaction is proven to have a positive and significant effect on the Intention to Continue Using the DANA e-wallet. These findings highlight the importance of ease of use and a sense of security in enhancing User Satisfaction and encouraging continued use of e-wallet services.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the influence of ease of use and perceived security on user satisfaction, with user trust as a mediating variable, in the use of the BCA Mobile banking application. The research employed a quantitative approach using an associative method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents who are active users of BCA Mobile and reside in the Jakarta area. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling approach. A total of 112 respondents were analyzed. Data processing was conducted using SmartPLS version 4.0. The analytical techniques included outer model testing, inner model testing, path analysis, t-test, and mediation analysis using the bootstrapping method. The results of the study indicate that: (1) Ease of Use has a positive and significant effect on User Trust; (2) Perceived Security has a positive and significant effect on User Trust; (3) Ease of Use has a positive and significant effect on User Satisfaction; (4) Perceived Security has a positive and significant effect on User Satisfaction; and (5) User Trust has a positive and significant effect on User Satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of perceived ease of use, perceived value, and perceived security on continuance intention in the use of the PrivyID digital signature application, with e-satisfaction as an intervening variable. This study is motivated by the increasing adoption of digital signature technology in Indonesia, particularly PrivyID, which still faces challenges related to sustained usage. The research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 125 PrivyID users. Data analysis was performed using SmartPLS 4 through the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that the three independent variables (perceived ease of use, perceived value, and perceived security) significantly affect e-satisfaction, which then mediates their effect on continuance intention. These findings emphasize that the level of user electronic satisfaction is a key factor in promoting the continued use of digital signature applications. This research contributes theoretically to the development of user behavior models in the context of financial technology, as well as providing practical implications for service providers like PrivyID to enhance user loyalty through optimizing user experience and service security.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an explanation of the influence of perceived usefulness, perceived risk, and trust on intention to use the Seabank digital banking application, with trust serving as a mediating variable. The research adopts an associative method with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to individuals residing in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek), aged 17 and above, who are interested in using the Seabank application. The sampling technique used is Non-Probability Sampling with a Purposive Sampling approach. A total of 110 respondents were analyzed. Data processing was conducted using SmartPLS version 4.1.0.9. The analytical techniques employed include outer model testing, inner model testing, path analysis, t-tests, and mediation analysis using the bootstrapping method. The results of the study indicate that: (1) Perceived Usefulness has a significant positive direct effect on Intention to Use; (2) Perceived Risk has a significant negative direct effect on Intention to Use; (3) Trust has a significant positive direct effect on Intention to Use; (4) Perceived Usefulness has a significant positive direct effect on Trust; (5) Perceived Risk has a significant negative direct effect on Trust; (6) There is a significant indirect positive effect of Perceived Usefulness on Intention to Use through Trust; and (7) There is a significant indirect negative effect of Perceived Risk on Intention to Use through Trust

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy and hedonic shopping motivation on impulsive buying through spending self-control as a mediator among Shopee Paylater users in DKI Jakarta. Financial literacy and hedonic shopping motivation in this study are also examined for their influence on impulsive consumption behavior that can affect purchasing decisions in e-commerce applications. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method with a survey approach via Google Form for respondent data collection. The data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on PLS-SEM. The results of this study reveal that financial literacy has a positive effect on spending self-control, which in turn reduces impulsive buying behavior. Additionally, hedonic shopping motivation is found to significantly influence the increase in impulsive buying, although spending self-control acts as a mediator that strengthens this impact.
