Abstract

This study aims to find the optimal nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) concentration isolated from oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) particles to form stable pickering emulsions against creaming and coalescence. The emulsification process is based on a combination of homogenizer and ultrasonication. Pickering emulsion was prepared by mixing the dispersed phase (palm oil) and the dispersing phase (NFC concentration of 0.05 - 0.7 w/v%) at the ratio of 10:90. Fresh emulsion has a milky white appearance and is homogeneous. However, some samples' creaming process occurred on the 30th day of storage. Microscopic observations show that the droplets are round with various sizes. Differences in NFC concentrations significantly affect droplet size, zeta potential, rheology, and emulsion stability. Increasing the NCF concentration resulted in smaller droplet sizes, viscosity, zeta potential, and pickering emulsion stability. The emulsion has high stability against coalescence and creaming. NFC at 0.7 w/v% generates an emulsion with the best characteristics and high stability against creaming and coalescence. OPEFB-based NFC has the potential as a pickering emulsion stabilizer particle that can be applied to the food and non-food industries.

Abstract

The use of biodiesel is still experiencing problems due to large amount of water content which produce from the transesterification process, making it has unstable oxidizing properties. The large amount of water content in biodiesel causes the emergence of microorganisms which becoming sludge in the engine room, and can clog the fuel filter. In this study, we propose the application of oxygenate bio-additives to minimize water and particulate content by using turpentine essential oils, clove terpenes, rhodinol, camphor oil, and synthetic additive 2EHN. Based on the study's results, the water content of biodiesel B35 with the AC bio-additive mixture experienced the highest decrease in water content, which was 18% or 287.2 ppm and performs well in reducing particulate levels of 4, 6, and 14 microns. The completely randomized design (CRD) test results for non-factorial moisture content on days 0, 3, 5, 7, and 14 and particulate matter 4, 6, and 14 microns showed no significant difference because each P value was obtained greater than α (0.05). Keywords:   Bio-Additives, Biodiesel, Oxidation, Oxygenate, Particulates.

Abstract

All teachers must have pedagogical competence in managing learning in the classroom so that learning objectives can be achieved. The aim of this research is to: determine and analyze the influence of the principal's managerial competence, work motivation and organizational climate on teachers' pedagogical competence. The research approach used is quantitative. The population of this study was 138 teachers and the research sample was 103 teachers. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The research results show that: 1) The influence of managerial competence on pedagogical competence is 64.6%, 2) The influence of work motivation on pedagogical competence is 75.8%, 3) the correlation between organizational climate and pedagogical competence is 0.902. 3) The influence of organizational climate on pedagogical competence is 81.4%, 4) The influence of managerial competence, work motivation and organizational climate on pedagogical competence is 83.1%. The conclusion of this research is that managerial competence, work motivation and organizational climate on pedagogical competence are 83.1%.

Abstract

Essential oil has complex chemical substances with a lot of benefit, one of them is as mosquitoe or insect repellent. This research aims to find out the best essential oil formula for mosquito repellent. Essential oils that used in this research are citronella, lemongrass, cajeput, and lavender oil. Essential oils are characterized by its color, density, refractive index, and solubility in alcohol. The essential oil colors met the SNI which was pale yellow to clear yellow, the density was 0.8125 - 0.9114 g/ml, the refractive index was 1.4568-1.4665 and soluble in alcohol. The essential oil mixture resulted in 7 series of formula, namely series A1-A5, B1-B5, C1-C5, D1-D5, E1-E5, F1-F5, and G1-G5. The organoleptic test performed on all formula showed that the preferred formula was the formula E3, G3, and F3. All preferred formula were carried out repellent tests against mosquitoes to determine the effectiveness of the oil mixture in Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) carrier. The result showed that E3 was more effective repellent compare to F3 and G3 formulas, because it has protection value more than 90% until fourth-hour.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dan informasi telah membawa perubahan yang signifikan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam dunia bisnis. Dengan perkembangan teknologi yang sangat cepat, banyak pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) yang mengalami kesulitan dalam beradaptasi dengan perubahan tersebut. Oleh karena itu, sosialisasi dengan metode penyuluhan tentang digital marketing kepada pelaku usaha menjadi sangat penting untuk dilakukan. Sosialisasi yang diberikan dapat mencakup pemahaman tentang digital marketing, platform e-commerce yang dapat digunakan dan metode pembayaran digital. Setelah itu, diharapkan para pelaku usaha dapat menerapkan strategi digital marketing dengan baik, sehingga mereka dapat beradaptasi dengan perubahan pasar dan meningkatkan penjualan mereka. Selain itu juga diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan dan pemahaman kepada para pelaku usaha mengenai faktor-faktor dan strategi digital marketing, sehingga mereka dapat bertahan dalam menghadapi tantangan bisnis di era digital.

Abstract

Mutual cooperation board media or pagorong for short is a medium offered to improve student understanding and invite students to play an active role in discussing material. In this way, this mutual cooperation board media is suitable for use in the learning process in developing student communication. In line with this research which aims to develop the communication skills of lower class students through the medium of mutual cooperation boards. This research used a qualitative descriptive method which was carried out at SD Negeri di Kota Semarang in class 1B. In collecting data, this research used interviews, observation, questionnaires and documentation, then analyzed to find results. The results of this research show that each communication indicator gets a very good category, with details of enthusiasm of 94%, capability of 100%, credibility of 86%, symphaty of 93%, and clarity of 100%. With this, class 1B students at SD Negeri di Kota Semarang have high courage and enthusiasm in learning using the mutual cooperation board media. This will of course have an impact on developing communication skills in conveying ideas, asking questions and providing answers, increasing students' enthusiasm and thinking abilities, so that students can connect and construct the knowledge and experiences they have.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika, khususnya menyelesaikan operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan, menjadi aspek penting dalam pendidikan di tingkat SD. Namun, pembelajaran ini seringkali masih mengalami kesulitan tentang konsep-konsep abstrak, seperti memahami dan menyelesaikan masalah yang tidak konkret dan kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan analisis kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan menggunakan media Panjurang dengan model PBL di kelas 1 SDN Tandang 02. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan data mengenai kemampuan siswa kelas 1 serta kesulitan yang mereka hadapi dalam melakukan operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan 1 sampai dengan 20, dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan menggunakan media Panjurang dengan model PBL memberikan dampak signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan operasi hitung matematika.

Abstract

Indonesia’s prevailing waste management paradigm, which still employs a collect-transport-dispose system, results in waste accumulation and adverse effects on health and the environment. In contrast, the cement sector’s necessity for renewable and environmentally benign energy is increasing. Refused-derived fuel (RDF) technology is one of the potential ways to solve both concerns. This study aimed to assess the viability of RDF manufacturing processes and products for the cement industry and to offer recommendations for a national standard. This research procedure included identifying waste composition and characteristics, observing RDF production, and evaluating RDF product quality, such as testing water content, ash content, and heating value. The results demonstrated that the Cilacap RDF Plant successfully produced RDF from municipal solid waste using the mechanical-biological treatment (MBT) method. The biodrying process could reduce waste’s moisture content from 55.44% to 23.63% and increase the heating value to approximately 15 MJ/kg. Nevertheless, the quality of RDF products must be enhanced to align with the biomass standards for the industry (SNI 8675: 2018). The Cilacap Plant RDF products were feasible for application in the cement industry, with further product quality improvement and production process optimization. The findings could be a reference for developing national standards in manufacturing RDF as an alternative fuel in the cement industry.   Abstrak Pengelolaan sampah di Indonesia masih menggunakan sistem kumpul-angkut-buang, menyebabkan penumpukan sampah dan dampak negatif terhadap kesehatan dan lingkungan. Di sisi lain, kebutuhan energi terbarukan dan ramah lingkungan di sektor industri semen terus meningkat. Teknologi bahan bakar jumputan padat atau refuse-derived fuel (RDF) dianggap mampu menyelesaikan kedua permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kelayakan proses pembuatan dan produk RDF untuk industri semen serta memberikan rekomendasi untuk pembuatan standar nasional. Prosedur penelitian ini mencakup identifikasi komposisi dan karakteristik sampah, observasi tahapan proses produksi RDF, dan evaluasi kualitas produk RDF seperti kadar air, kadar abu, dan nilai kalor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa RDF Plant Cilacap berhasil memproduksi RDF dari sampah kota menggunakan metode mechanical-biological treatment (MBT). Proses biodrying mampu menurunkan kadar air sampah dari 55,44% menjadi 23,63% dan meningkatkan nilai kalor menjadi sekitar 15 MJ/kg. Namun, kualitas produk RDF masih perlu ditingkatkan untuk memenuhi standar biomassa untuk industri (SNI 8675:2018). Produk RDF Plant Cilacap dinilai cukup layak untuk industri semen, dengan beberapa rekomendasi untuk peningkatan kualitas produk dan optimalisasi proses produksi. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan dalam pembuatan standar nasional dalam produksi RDF sebagai bahan bakar alternatif di industri semen.

Abstract

Crude palm oil (CPO) is produced from the extraction process of palm fruit pulp. Palm oil contains essential components in the form of triglycerides, mostly as fatty acids, namely palmitic acid, oleic, and linoleic. However, palm oil also contains minor phytonutrients, such as carotene, tocopherol, and tocotrienol. Palm oil has been widely used in the food and non-food industries. As a raw material in various products, palm oil undergoes a refinery process to remove unlike free fatty acids (FFA), odors, and colors (reddish to bright yellow). In this process, phytonutrients are degraded and damaged so that the content becomes very low. Phytonutrients in the CPO has not been fully utilized their benefits for human health. One of the palm oil products that contain high phytonutrient compounds is red palm oil. There are two types of red palm oil, namely virgin red palm oil (VRPO) and red palm oil derived from CPO (RPO). VRPO is produced from direct extraction of oil palm fruit, while RPO is produced from the neutralization of CPO and deodorization at low temperatures to reduce FFA levels. Both of these products contain high phytonutrients, such as carotene, tocopherol, and tocotrienol. This paper reviews several studies on the processing, characteristics, and potential use of red palm oil in food and non-food products. The application of red palm oil in margarine as a specific food product has the potential to be further studied.

Abstract

Era digital telah mengubah cara institusi pendidikan memasarkan layanan mereka, menuntut pendekatan yang lebih adaptif dan berbasis teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi strategi pemasaran yang efektif bagi jasa pendidikan di era digital, serta mengeksplorasi tantangan yang dihadapi dan solusi inovatif yang dapat diterapkan. Menggunakan metode studi pustaka, penelitian ini menganalisis berbagai sumber literatur dari buku dan jurnal yang membahas pemasaran digital, strategi komunikasi, dan teknologi dalam pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan media sosial, pemasaran konten, dan personalisasi berbasis data adalah strategi utama yang efektif dalam meningkatkan daya saing institusi pendidikan. Namun, tantangan seperti keterbatasan sumber daya, kebutuhan akan keahlian digital, dan isu privasi data menjadi hambatan yang perlu diatasi. Untuk menghadapi tantangan ini, institusi pendidikan perlu berinvestasi dalam pengembangan keterampilan digital staf, serta memanfaatkan analitik data untuk membuat keputusan yang lebih tepat. Kesimpulannya, strategi pemasaran yang adaptif, inovatif, dan berbasis teknologi merupakan kunci sukses bagi institusi pendidikan dalam menarik dan mempertahankan calon peserta didik di era digital yang kompetitif. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi institusi pendidikan untuk mengoptimalkan pemasaran digital mereka guna mencapai tujuan strategis jangka panjang., strategi pemasaran yang adaptif, inovatif, dan berbasis teknologi merupakan kunci sukses bagi institusi pendidikan dalam menarik dan mempertahankan calon peserta didik di era digital yang kompetitif. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi institusi pendidikan untuk mengoptimalkan pemasaran digital mereka guna mencapai tujuan strategis jangka panjang.
