Abstract

Understanding the concept is one of the fundamental goals in learning mathematics. This study aims to determine the effect of learning motivation on students' understanding of mathematical concepts in class XI MIPA at a public high school in Pariaman. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative. Sampling was done by simple random sampling technique. The research instruments used were motivational questionnaires and tests of understanding mathematical concepts that have been tested valid and reliable. The results of the study, learning motivation is in the medium and high categories, affecting the level of understanding of students' mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Peran bakat dan minat dalam belajar adalah subjek penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan library research juga dikenal sebagai studi kepustakaan untuk mengumpulkan berbagai informasi tentang peran bakat dalam belajar. Bakat dapat didefinisikan sebagai kemampuan bawaan yang merupakan potensi, atau kemampuan yang potensial, yang memerlukan pengembangan melalui latihan. Kebakat juga merupakan kemampuan alami untuk memperoleh keterampilan atau pengetahuan yang umum. Kesuksesan dalam suatu bidang dapat dicapai dengan minat yang didukung atau sebaliknya. Minat adalah ketertarikan seseorang pada sesuatu; bakat memerlukan minat untuk berkembang dan mencapai hasil yang optimal. Bakat dan minat peserta didik sangat mempengaruhi proses dan hasil belaja mereka. Dalam pendidikan, belajar harus dilakukan. Pendidikan adalah proses meningkatkan sumber daya manusia siswa dengan memberikan bimbingan dan sarana untuk proses belajar. Pendidikan bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan siswa untuk memasuki dunia kerja. Jadi, peranan bakat dan minat dalam belajar sangat penting dalam mengembangkan kemampuan seseorang untuk mencapai kesusksesan dalam hidupnya.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how counselor play a role in implementing career interest aptitude tests for students of the vocational High School. This research uses a literature review to support the research by looking for relevant theories in journal articles, books, ebooks, and other documents. This research shows that counselor can utilize interest tests to support guidance and counseling at school, especially in placing and disseminating interests according to students' abilities and potential. The results showed that the role of Counselor is very important in helping and directing students to take career interest aptitude tests. Counselor act as facilitators, motivators, and advisors who help students understand themselves, choose careers, and develop their own potential.  The results of this study show how important it is for guidance and counseling teachers to actively participate in preparing students to enter the world of work in accordance with their interests and talents. Consequently, this study suggests that guidance and counseling teachers should be more active and supportive in conducting career interest aptitude tests to improve vocational students' job success and satisfaction.

Abstract

Social capital is directly linked to the phenomenon that occurs in the community. Multicultural counseling based on social capital can help with these issues. Social capital is a way of forming a strong link between people in order to establish a society. Social capital is divided into two categories: those that focus on the network of social contacts and those that focus on the inherent traits of individuals involved in social interactions. Multicultural counseling is still underserved in guidance and counseling services. One of the reasons why the service isn't up to par is because the counselor lacks certain talents, particularly when it comes to counseling approaches. As a result, a separate study on intercultural counseling is required. As a result, the author delivers a concept paper on multicultural counseling in a plural society in Indonesia based on social capital. After reviewing a variety of scientific sources, this manuscript was created. With this document, it is intended that counselors will be able to use it as a resource for implementing intercultural counseling based on social capital in Indonesia's plural society.

Abstract

Kehidupan berkeluarga merupakan perjalanan yang dibentuk oleh dua insan yang terikat dalam pernikahan. Dalam perjalanan kehidupan tersebut akan selalu ada masalah yang menghampiri baik itu bersumber dari dalam ataupun dari luar diri individu yang menjalaninya. Berbagai permasalahan permasalahan keluarga tersebut dapat di selesaikan melalui konseling keluarga. Konseling keluarga efektif untuk mengatasi masalah dalam keluarga. Konseling keluarga dapat membantu anggota keluarga mendapatkan keharmonisan dalam keluarga karena dalam proses konseling, konseli akan berupaya mengetahui, mengenali, memperhatikan, menerima dan berusaha untuk mempertahankan keluarganya. Konseling keluarga dapat membantu mencegah dan mengatasi masalah dalam keluarga sehingga konseli dapat mempertahankan keharmonisan keluarganya.

Abstract

The presence of smartphones has caused major changes in human life, including among students. This causes the problem of smartphone addiction in students which causes their daily life to be disrupted. This study aims to reveal the contribution of self-control towards student smartphone addiction. This study was descriptive quantitative, and the data were analyzed by using a simple linear regression. The population in this study was 33480 students of undergraduate program at Universitas Negeri Padang in 2015-2019 academic year. The sample of this study was 400 students taken by using the Proportional Random Sampling technique. The research instrument used was the self-control and smartphone addiction scale with a Likert scale model. The research findings revealed that self-control gives an effective contribution towards the student smartphone addiction at Univeristas Negeri Padang as many as 30.1%.

Abstract

Penanganan terhadap keluarga sebagai suatu sistem bertujuan untuk membantu anggota keluarga untuk pengembangan potensinya agar menjadi manusia yang berguna bagi keluarga dan bangsanya. Disamping itu membantu anggota keluarga yang mengalami gangguan emosi melalui sistem keluarga. Yaitu setiap anggota keluarga memberikan kontribusi positif dan pemahaman yang mendalam akan hakekat gangguan tersebut. Dengan kata lain keluarga adalah yang berjasa untuk membantu perkembangan anggotanya dan menyembuhkan anggota yang terganggu.

Abstract

Aktivitas siswa di dalam kelas sangat beragam saat mengikuti proses belajar mengajar, kebanyakan siswa belum mampu secara mandiri dalam menemukan, mengenal dan menyusun pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang ada dalam masalahnya. Siswa yang tidak mempunyai motivasi dan kemandirian dalam belajar seperti tidak memiliki jadwal belajar tetap, belajar sambil menonton TV, menghabiskan waktu dengan memainkan handphone, tidak menyelesaikan tugas dan hanya belajar pada waktu menghadapi ujian saja dan tidak memiliki karakter tangguh dalam belajar yaitu kesungguhan dan ketekunan.Hal ini menunjukkan rendahnya karakter tangguh siswa dalam belajar. Beberapa cara dapat dilakukan oleh guru BK/Konselor untuk meningkatkan karakter tangguh siswa salah satunya menggunakan media yang menarik seperti modul bimbingan dan konseling. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menghasilkan modul bimbingan dan konseling yang valid secara isi dan tampilan, praktis, serta efektif untuk meningkatkan karakter tangguh siswa dalam belajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan mengikuti langkah pengembangan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). Subjek uji coba penelitian terdiri dari 3 orang ahli isi dalam bidang bimbingan dan konseling dan 3 orang ahli dalam bidang tampilan, 4 orang guru BK/Konselor untuk menguji praktikalitas modul dan 35 siswa untuk menguji keefektifan modul. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan statistik nonparametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) modul bimbingan dan konseling sudah valid secara isi dan tampilan untuk meningkatkan karakter tangguh siswa dalam belajar, (2) tingkat praktikalitas modul bimbingan dan konseling untuk meningkatkan karakter tangguh siswa dalam belajar yang dikembangkan berada pada kategori baik/tinggi untuk digunakan oleh guru BK/Konselor, (3) modul bimbingan dan konseling yang efektif untuk meningkatkan karakter tangguh siswa dalam belajar. Dengan demikian, modul bimbingan dan konseling yang dikembangkan dapat dimanfaatkan guru BK/Konselor untuk meningkatkan karakter tangguh siswa dalam belajar.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis of the knee is a major health problem among older adults that can lead to disability and decreased quality of life. Preventing the progression of this disease requires a deep understanding of the experiences of older adults in managing their condition. This study aimed to explore the experiences of elderly individuals in preventing the progression of knee osteoarthritis in Pekanbaru City. This study used a qualitative design with a descriptive phenomenological approach. The participants consisted of 15 older individuals aged 60-80 years diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through in-depth semi-structured interviews from March to May 2024. The findings identified four main themes: (1) older adults’ understanding of knee osteoarthritis and its prevention, (2) strategies for managing pain and limited mobility, (3) family and social support in the prevention process, and (4) challenges and barriers in implementing prevention efforts. The results showed that the elderly have only a limited understanding of preventing the progression of osteoarthritis but display high motivation to take preventive measures when they receive adequate support. The most commonly used strategies included activity modification, traditional medicine and light exercise. Despite limited knowledge, participants demonstrated strong motivation to prevent disease progression when adequate support was available. Conclusion: Older adults’ experiences indicate that prevention of knee osteoarthritis progression is shaped by knowledge, adaptive capacity, and social support. These findings highlight the need for structured education and a multidisciplinary, context-sensitive approach to support preventive efforts among older adults. ucational programs and multidisciplinary support are needed to improve the effectiveness of efforts to prevent the progression of knee osteoarthritis in older adults.
