Abstract

This research was animed to examine the corralation between self-control and student gadget use. This research is a quantitative study involving students in SMAN 1 Sungayang with a total sample of 245 students. The instrument used to collect data in this study was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the rank spearman correlation technique with help of the statistic product and service solution (SPSS) 22.0 program. These reasult indicate the correlation coefficient in this study is -0.062 and signifficant level of 0,335. This means that there is no correlation between sefl-control and gadget use. So, concluded that the higher the self-control, the lower the use of gadgets, and conversely the lower the self-control, the higher the use of gadgets.

Abstract

When entering adolescence, adolescents are expected to be able to know their own worth and their worth towards others. This means that adolescents should be able to assess themselves positively by the extent to which adolescents are able to show that they are capable, meaningful, successful and valuable. The reality that occurs in the field are still many teenagers who are found there are teenagers who do not believe in their own abilities, do not dare to appear in front of the class, feel afraid and anxious when faced with a challenge, become victims of bullying, and are isolated from peer groups, etc. This study aims to describe peer pressure and adolescent self-esteem and to examine the relationship between peer pressure and adolescent self-esteem in Adabiah Padang High School. This type of research used in this research is descriptive quantitative correlational. The sample in this study amounted to 219 students. The results of the study revealed that: (1) peer pressure experienced by Adabiah Padang high school students was in the high category, (2) self-esteem possessed by Adabiah Padang high school students was in the low category, (3) there is a significant negative relationship between peer pressure and adolescent self-esteem at Adabiah Padang High School.

Abstract

Adaptability is person’s ability to intereact with the environment naturally. In this study, a single mother with an age range of 18 to 40 years will be examined who was abandoned  due to a divorce. This study aims to describe a single mother’s adjustment in general emotional maturity and social maturity. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The subjects of this study were 32 single mothers in the Dua Koto sub-district, Pasaman district. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire in the form of a likert scale. Research findings reveal that single mother adjusment is generally in the moderate category with a percentage of 81%. In particular, single mother adjusment from the aspect of emotional is in the medium category with a percentage of 96,88%. Aspect of social maturity are in the medium category with a percentage of 75%.

Abstract

Facts in the field showed that there are students who have not been able to show prosocial attitudes. Prosocial attitudes need to be showed to strengthen student social relations. The main objective in this study was to reveal the effectiveness of sociodrama techniques in group setting to improve prosocial attitudes of SMA  Adabiah 2 Padang students. The research design used was the Pre Experiment model experimental research, with The One Group Pretest-Posttest research design. The subjects of this study were 22 students of XI IPS 5 class. The data collection method used a prosocial attitude scale. Data analysis used Wilcoxon Test and descriptive data analysis. The results of this study indicated that, in general, sociodrama techniques in group setting were effective in improving students' prosocial attitudes. While specifically, there was a significant difference in the average score between the prosocial attitudes of students before and after following the sociodrama activities in group setting.

Abstract

Many adolescents cannot control their lifestyle, one of which is due to low self-esteem, so they have a negative lifestyle.This study aims to see how the correlation between self-esteem and lifestyle among students of MA N 1 Kerinci. This research is a descriptive correlational study, with a sample of 176 students. This study used an instrument in the form of a CFSEI-2 (The Culture Free Self Esteem Inventory) inventory for self-esteem variables and a questionnaire that was compiled using a Likert scale model for lifestyle variables.The results of this study indicate that (1) students of MA N 1 Kerinci have self-esteem which is in the very low category with a percentage of 35.80%;(2) while in terms of lifestyle, it is in the quite good category with a percentage of 40.91%;(3) the results of the correlation analysis showed that a significant value showed a number of 0.089 which was greater than 0.05, meaning that there was no correlation between self-esteem and the lifestyle of students of MA N 1 Kerinci.

Abstract

Students at school should be able to build good social relationships with others, because one of the tasks of student development is being able to one of them play a role in social life such as developing interpersonal communication both individuals and groups. One of the things that influences interpersonal communication is a stable self-image. But still found in the field of students who are awkward in communicating. This study aims to empirically examine the relationship of self-image with interpersonal communication in students of SMK N 9 Padang. This research is a descriptive correlational research with quantitative methods. Sampling in this study used stratidfied random sampling technique with a total sample of 295 students of SMK N 9 Padang. The research instrument used was a self-image questionnaire and an interpersonal communication questionnaire. The results revealed that the self-image of students at SMK N 9 Padang was mostly in the quite good category and interpersonal communication of students of SMK N 9 Padang was mostly in the quite good category. There is a significant relationship between self-image and students' interpersonal communication at SMK N 9 Padang.

Abstract

Marriage is the desire of most human beings in the world. Two different beings and different backgrounds united by God to be complementary. Marriage aims to foster harmonious family, happy based belief in one God. But reality shows that not all who have made a marriage is always followed by a harmony in their relationships, even some who ultimately failed in his marriage. Marriage should be maintained integrity  no longer considered causing disharmony in the household that cause conflict in the family that can result in divorce in the family. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of divorce in the Religious Padang.The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method. Subjects were individuals who filed a divorce case in Padang Religious Court, amounting to 80 people. Means of data collection using questionnaires. Data were analyzed using percentage formula.Results of the study revealed that internal factors cause people divorced in Padang High Religious Court that the attitude aspects of egocentrism in the family as much as 65.26% and in the interpretation of the behavioral aspects of rage as much as 56.46%. External factors cause people divorced in Padang High Religious Court that the negative aspects of the association made the couple as much as 62.51%.From the research, advice that can be given to the counselor that should be able to provide help in minimizing cases of divorce by providing counseling services such as information services, content mastery services, individual counseling and mediation services that can help the problems experienced by individuals who are getting a divorce so it is not the occurrence of divorce.

Abstract

Various researches in information technology, especially in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 have revealed that there has been a major change in the use of wireless devices in the past decade. The high internet usage is directly proportional to the use of social media which is increasing every year. Social media in principle provides various communities in accordance with the purpose and development goals of the platform. This of course will arouse the arena of new problems at the client's life level, thus becoming a challenge for counselors in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. Counselors in this era are required to have a deeper understanding of the root causes that might arise from the online world. Counselors are also required to have special skills in handling individual welfare conditions related to the impact of activities on social media. This study discusses the general impact of social media on individual subjective well-being conditions. This study involved 174 respondents spread throughout the territory of Indonesia by its demography. The results showed that respondents needed mental health interventions through online channels and not in the form of social media.

Abstract

Academic self-concept is the views, opinions or feelings about their academic abilities. Achievement motivation is encouragement for individuals to excel. This study is a descriptive correlational study aimed to describe the academic self-concept and achievement motivation of students and to test whether there is a relationship between academic self-concept and echievement motivation of students SMP N 1 VII Koto.subjects numbered 75 students taken high rank in his class. To see the connection techniques used in this study pearson product moment correlationthrough the statistical program SPSS for windows release 17.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling teachers assignment in school is to provide optimum service according to the needs of students. Non-test instrument is one of the types of support activities to reveal the condition of the students as they are. This research is aimed to describe internal and external obstruction from the self and effort by guidance and counseling teachers to overcome obstruction to will do non-test instruments in the guidance and counseling service in school. This research is classified into quantitative research in descriptive type. This research sample are 26 guidance and counseling teachers of Junior High School in Padang city accredited A. The research instrument is questionnaire. The findings of the research revealed: the implementation of the non-test instruments have not been fully, because internal and external obstruction from the self  guidance and counseling teacher and the average guidance and counseling teachers has tried to overcome these obstruction.
