Abstract

Climate information is important in decision making. Access to relevant and timely weather information is an important factor in increasing farmers' resilience to climate change. Information systems are considered essential for enhancing the ability of individuals, businesses and governments to adapt to change and climate change. Information users can use the information system to assist in making decisions about management adjustments to climate projections. Climate information should be communicated in languages understood by local farmers and linked directly to farm management decision-making processes to ensure information is timely and usable by small producers. The survey was conducted on the user's level of trust in the climate information system issued by the BMKG. No less than 59 respondents stated that the climate information obtained was very good, accurate and timely, received late, difficult to understand, diverse climate information did not reach all sectors. In order to remain productive in running the agricultural industry, accurate information is needed so that users can make optimal use of it. By knowing climate information, climate risks can be minimized.

Abstract

Economic development is one of the government's priority programs. However, in the middle of the development process, it turns out that evolution harms the environment. The environmental impact that usually occurs is pollution. This study aims to determine the role of development on pollution. This study uses a composite index calculation of the presence of pollution from each village/kelurahan area in Indonesia. Multiple linear regression was used to determine the effect of GRDP on the pollution composition index. The results of this study indicate that GRDP has a positive and significant impact on regional pollution. Special efforts are needed from the government to tackle pollution problems due to development activities. The government can issue regulations so that companies, as polluters' main polluters, can pay more attention to the environmental impacts they cause.

Abstract

Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) encourages the community to prioritize basic and personal health needs. This study aimed to explore the consumer behaviour of traditional medicine and health supplements during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia using the Consumer Decision Model approach. A quick online cross-sectional survey involving 215 respondents was carried out from December 23, 2020, until January 2, 2021. This study revealed that the majority of respondents consume the products as forced by the pandemic situation, and their use has increased than before the pandemic. The primary reason for consuming the product is to increase their immunity during a pandemic, and they felt more healthy after consuming it. Social media and television are the primary sources of product information. Furthermore, we found that the majority of respondents were branded product consumers. Respondents were more likely to have good behaviour based on knowledge of the products' legality, dosage, indication, instructions for use, and expiration date. This study sets appropriate consumer behaviour and performs the statistical tests only for branded product consumers. It is concluded that consumer behaviour in this study is related to product advertisement exposure and acceptance, environmental influence, and individual difference.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analyze the neighboring countries’ response, which are Malaysia and Singapore, in facing the effect of forest fires smoke in Indonesia from 2011 until 2015 and to analyze the Indonesian Government's feedback when getting the response from both countries. This research uses the green political theory and securitization theory to analyze the research problems. The periodization of this research is limited from 2011 until 2015 in which forest and land fires actually occur almost every year starting from the El Nino phenomenon in 1997/1998. This research is qualitative research. The result of this research indicates that even though forest fires happen every year in Indonesia but forest fires smoke does not always pass across Malaysia and Singapore. Therefore, Malaysia and Singapore do not always send the letter of complaint to Indonesia oh the forest fires smoke pollution which might disturb the activities of Malaysian and Singaporean people, particularly in the sector of health, tourism, transportation, economy and education.
