Abstract

Background: Nurses are susceptible to work stress caused by conflicts with coworkers and superiors, as well as uncertainty about the effects of therapy on patients. The preliminary study results on 15 nurses showed that 11 nurses (73%) experienced moderate stress, while four nurses (27%) experienced severe stress. Purpose: This research aims to analyze the differences before and after Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy in reducing nurses’ stress. Method: This study applied a quantitative approach, utilizing a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test design involving 36 nurses before and after SEFT therapy. Sampling was conducted using a total sampling technique. The study was carried out from July to August 2021, using the Occupational Stress Inventory-Revised Edition (OSI-R) questionnaire. A Paired Sample T test was utilized as the statistical test. Result: The univariate test results for work stress before and after SEFT therapy were 77.75 and 71.11, respectively. The bivariate test, with p-value of 0.001, revealed differences in work stress scores before and after SEFT therapy for nurses. Conclusion: SEFT therapy can reduce the stress of nurses at Hospital A. Therefore, the hospital management needs to implement SEFT therapy to reduce work-related stress for the nurses.

Methods: We carried out descriptive analysis for demographic aspects, lifestyle, and work factors with each component of mental disorders, namely stress, anxiety and depression. Design study for this research is cross-sectional. DASS 42 was an instrument for dependent variable. Data analysis was conducted with the Chi-square test to see the strength of the relationship between the two variables. The sample in this study was 201 with total sampling method. Result: Research results show that demographic factors do not have a strong relationship with mental disorders; lifestyle factors are the factors that have the strongest relationship with mental disorders, namely routine exercise and sleep duration. Work factors do not have a strong relationship with mental disorders at Port Logistic Terminal at Tanjung Priok. Abstract

Children are a vulnerable group to infectious diseases, which are the leading cause of death among them. Data from Palmerah Community Health Centre (Puskesmas Palmerah) showed that 6 of the ten most common illnesses are infectious diseases, such as colds (acute nasopharyngitis), fever, cough, flu, and gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea and gastroenteritis of presumed infectious origin). Based on these issues, it is necessary to educate children about the spread of contagious germs. This community service aims to help students understand how germs spread diseases. The activity was held at SDN 07 Palmerah for 2nd-grade students in the form of a health talk and a demonstration using a game about how germs are transmitted. The event occurred on January 30, 2024, from 8:00 to 9:00 AM WIB. The program started with an opening by the MC, followed by a pre-test where students, working in groups, placed images of locations where germs are found. After the pre-test, the session continued with a presentation on places where germs are found and how they spread a Q&A session, and a post-test. The results of the pre-test and post-test showed an increase in students' knowledge about the places where germs are found. Therefore, regular health education is necessary to prevent disease transmission among students in the classroom.

Abstract
