Abstract

Warm herbal ball compress were alternative treatments on increase volume of breast milk. Cold cabbage leaves to reduce breast pain. Combination of two non pharmacology methods will be more effective to reduce breast pain and increase volume of breastmilk. The study aimed to analyze difference effect of herbal care package than breastcare on breast milk volume. The design study conduct quasi experiment with pretest-posttest with a non-equivalent control group. The subject is 30 postpartum mothers day 1-14 with breast engorgement in Semarang. The intervention group was applied warm herbal ball compresses, breast massage, and cold cabbage. However control group was applied breastcare. Both groups received these treatment 6 times during 3 days with duration of 20 minutes. Electric breast pump and beaker glass was instruments to observed volume of breast milk. The results obtained p-value 0.001. Herbal care package can increase volume of breast milk than breastcare.

Abstract

Perineal wounds in postpartum mothers can potentially cause infections. The perineal area exposed to lochia and moisture creates an environment conducive to bacterial growth, thus hindering the wound healing process. Infections of perineal wounds can involve various types of bacteria that naturally colonize the skin and genital mucosa. The application of centella asiatica spray gel is one of the non-pharmacological methods for healing perineal wounds in postpartum mothers. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying centella asiatica spray gel 3 times a day with a concentration of 25% for 7 days on perineal wound healing and the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in postpartum mothers. This is a True Experimental study with a pretest–posttest control group design. Based on the inclusion criteria of second-degree perineal wounds with sutures were selected using random sampling, 17 participants to receive centella asiatica spray gel and 17 participants received standard dry-clean care. The level of wound healing was measured using the REEDA score. The growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria was measured using a colony counter. REEDA score data were analyzed using the Friedman and Mann-Whitney tests, while Staphylococcus aureus growth was analyzed using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. Based on the average decrease in REEDA scores by 1.06, the application of centella asiatica spray gel was effective for perineal wound healing (p=0.000). There was a significant difference in the average growth of S.aureus (p=0.040) in perineal wounds of postpartum mothers, with the intervention group showing an average difference of 6.34. The application of centella asiatica spray gel 3 times a day with a concentration of 25% for 7 days was effective for perineal wound healing and reducing Staphylococcus aureus growth in postpartum mothers.

Abstract

Deaf children in the intervention group had 100% caries and an average debris index of 80%, indicating poor dental and oral hygiene. To address this issue, interactive media with Android-based sign language and game methods was used for engaging and enjoyable learning. This research aims is used to produce interactive media with android-based sign language as an effort to improve dental health maintenance behavior and decrease debris index in deaf children. This research method is Mixed Method and Research and Development (RD) research design. There are five stages of research, namely: information collection, model design, expert validation and revision, model testing with quasi-experimental methods with pre-test design – post-test control group design. The results of interactive media with Android-based sign language according to expert validation average 95% and p value = 0.007 (very feasible). The results of the paired data effectiveness test in the intervention group with a knowledge value of p = 0.008 with a delta value of 2.666, attitude value p = 0.005 with a delta value of 3.916, skill value p = 0.004 with a delta value of 6.250, debris index score p = 0.001 with a delta value of 1.350, compared to the control group. So that this interactive media with android-based sign language is feasible and its application is effective as an effort to improve dental health maintenance behavior and reduce debris index in deaf children.

Abstract

Background: Health is the most important aspect of human life, both physically and mentally. Oral and dental health plays a crucial role in maintaining the body's functional balance. Tooth loss can disrupt chewing, nutrition, and overall quality of life. However, it can be managed with the use of dentures. One of the challenges in dental impression-taking is the gag reflex, which can be minimized by selecting the appropriate impression tray and optimizing the setting time of alginate. Innovations such as temperature sensors for real-time monitoring and music therapy can enhance accuracy and patient comfort.Method: This study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method, which involves stages of information gathering, product design, expert validation, and product testing. The research respondents consist of operators (medical personnel) who perform dental impressions. Data is analyzed using statistical tests to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed device.Result: The research results indicate that the use of Smart Dental Impression Trays significantly enhances operator satisfaction, with a mean score of 4.80 ± 0.422 compared to the control group at 3.60 ± 0.699 (p-value = 0.001).Conclusion: Smart Dental Impression Trays are effective in enhancing operator satisfaction during the dental impression procedure. This innovation has the potential to be a solution for dental healthcare services in improving the quality of dental impressions. Keywords: Smart dental impression trays, operator satisfaction, temperature sensor, relaxation music
