Abstract

This study aims to improve student’s numeracy skills and learning resilience through the implementation of differentiated instruction and to analyze the influence of learning styles on learning outcomes. A mixed-method approach with a pretest–posttest design was employed involving Grade XI students of SMKN 1 Binong Subang, assigned to an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class received differentiated instruction based on visual and kinesthetic learning styles, while the control class received conventional instruction. Research instruments included a numeracy test on arithmetic sequences and series as well as a learning resilience questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, two-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation. The findings indicate that differentiated instruction significantly improved student’s numeracy skills and learning resilience, whereas learning styles did not exert a meaningful effect either independently or in interaction with the instructional method. These results affirm that differentiated instruction effectively accommodates student diversity while supporting both cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes. Teachers are advised to implement differentiated instruction consistently by emphasizing student’s readiness and learning needs rather than relying solely on learning styles. Further research is suggested to examine the effectiveness of this instructional approach across different subjects or educational levels to strengthen the generalizability of the findings.

Abstract

BLDC motor controllers in light electric vehicles such as electric pedicabs are prone to excessive temperature rise due to high current and continuous operation, which may reduce system reliability. This study implements a BLDC motor controller based on the Infineon XMC1302 microcontroller using a Hall-sensor-based block commutation method and an NTC thermistor for thermal protection. Temperature data are acquired through the integrated ADC and used to adaptively regulate the PWM duty cycle via a throttle derating mechanism. Experimental results show that the duty cycle starts to decrease when the temperature exceeds 50 °C and is completely disabled above 70 °C. Laboratory and field tests on an electric pedicab demonstrate a continuous reduction in the speed profile as temperature increases, confirming effective thermal protection performance.

Abstract

Purpose: This research examines the mechanism of multi-stakeholder transformative dialogue in transforming pesantren orientation through tasawuf values and its relationship with post-conflict deradicalization. Method: A qualitative case study was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Qur'an Amanah, Poso, Sulawesi Tengah during 12 months (January-December 2024) through observation, interviews, participant observation, and document analysis with a theoretical framework integrating positive dialogue theory from Bourdieu and 45% (2010) positive impacts. Result: The research findings reveal a comprehensive dialogue model that integrates: (1) ekogrit (recognition ecology) transforming rigid understanding of religious uniformity; (2) restructuring curriculum and pedagogy towards contextual-substantivist approaches rather than textualist-formalist such as low self-esteem, patience, and universal love; (3) implementation of sustainable dialogue with multi-religious communities based on the principle of ukhuwan insaniyyah (universal brotherhood) and sulh (reconciliation). Tasawuf values such as iksan, qana'ah, and dzikir practices strengthen collective identity and spiritual resilience in facing post-conflict trauma. Conclusion: The transformation produces tangible impacts: trust among religious communities increased 78% (2010 to 2024), inter-religious conflicts decreased from 12 cases/year to almost zero since 2016, membership growth in Koperasi Syariah Lintas Agama reached 457%, and the deradicalization model based on tasawuf values is replicable for 128,000 pesantren in Indonesia, contributing significantly to SDG 16 regarding peace, justice, and strong institutions.

Abstract

Problem-solving and mathematical reasoning are crucial aspects of mathematics education. However, students' over-reliance on technology for problem-solving has triggered a decline in these specific reasoning abilities. This study aims to analyze the mathematical reasoning skills of vocational high school (SMK) students through the implementation of the Math Expert application. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach with an embedded design, the research involved 86 tenth-grade students in Cianjur, divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected via questionnaires, observations, interviews, and mathematical reasoning tests based on NCTM standards. The findings indicate significant differences across six NCTM reasoning indicators, including the ability to: justify conclusions; test mathematical conjectures; evaluate arguments; employ diverse solution methods; organize situational problem data; and assess the work of others. Overall, the results demonstrate that the Math Expert application effectively enhances students' mathematical reasoning skills, although the degree of improvement varies across the specific indicators.

Abstract

The increasing penetration of renewable energy sources in Indonesia, particularly photovoltaic (PV) systems, into electric power grids has led to a reduction in system inertia, potentially compromising frequency stability during disturbances. This paper proposes a virtual inertia control method for single-phase rooftop PV inverters to enhance frequency response in low-inertia microgrids. A single-phase synchronverter model based on the swing equation was developed and tested on the IEEE 13-bus system. Three scenarios were evaluated: a solar-only microgrid, a wind-integrated microgrid, and a microgrid combining renewable sources with a synchronous generator. Simulation results demonstrated that the proposed virtual inertia method improved frequency and voltage stability, closely mimicking the response of traditional synchronous generators. Within the first 10 s following a disturbance, the system failed to restore its frequency to the nominal value due to insufficient inertia in the inertial response time range. This indicates that the initial 10 s are a critical period for frequency recovery. The poorest frequency response was observed in scenario 1 (solar-only configuration), where system inertia was the lowest among the three scenarios, while the hybrid configuration with a synchronous generator (scenario 3) provided the most stable and robust frequency performance. The findings support the recommendation to implement policies requiring rooftop PV systems to incorporate virtual inertia functionalities, ensuring greater system resilience as renewable energy penetration increases.

Abstract

Quality education requires a solid philosophical and theoretical foundation. Educational philosophy provides the normative direction and values of education, while learning theories offer empirical guidance for designing effective and learner-centered instruction. This study examines how both perspectives strengthen educational foundations through optimizing the educational role of libraries in the digital era. Using a descriptive qualitative literature review supported by findings from the Darul Ma’arif Al Insan Foundation, the study reveals that philosophy shapes educational orientation, whereas learning theories guide practical instructional strategies. Their integration reinforces libraries as active learning centers that promote information literacy, character development, independent learning, and lifelong learning. Libraries managed in alignment with philosophical principles and learning theories—through relevant collections, adaptive services, and supportive environments—can enhance their function as non-formal educational institutions. Thus, educational philosophy and learning theories are strategic components in building an adaptive and sustainable education system in the context of digital transformation.
