Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan pelaksanaan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas VII Semester I di SMP Negeri se-Kota Lubuklinggau tahun ajaran 2012/2013 berdasarkan KTSP. Metode yang digunakan berupa metode deskriptif dengan sampel penelitian yaitu SMPN 1 Kota Lubuklinggau, SMPN 5 Kota Lubuklinggau, dan SMPN 10 Kota Lubuklinggau. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik kuesioner, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: transkripsi, identifikasi, klasifikasi, interpretasi, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa belum sepenuhnya pelaksanaan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas VII Semester I di SMP Negeri se-Kota Lubuklinggau tahun ajaran 2012/2013 berdasarkan KTSP karena berdasarkan hasil analisis dokumentasi silabus dan RPP, para guru masih memiliki beberapa kelemahan terutama dalam menuangkan kegiatan pembelajaran (kegiatan pendahuluan, kegiatan inti, dan penutup) ke dalam bentuk nyata dan penyusunan instrumen penilaian belum berbasis proses (autentic assessment). Untuk itu, diperlukan kontrol dan evaluasi terhadap produk silabus dan RPP oleh berbagai pihak yang terkait.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektivan model pembelajaran Connecting Organizing Reflecting Extending terhadap kemampuan menemukan ide-ide pokok berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri B. Srikaton.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas VIII berjumlah 187 siswa yang terdiri dari 6 kelas. Sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII.6 yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan dua cara yaitu dengan teknik tes dan teknik nontes. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus uji “t”, yaitu dengan mencari selisih antara hasil pretes dan postes. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diketahui terdapat perbedaan hasil pretes dengan hasil postes. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil rata-rata pretes dengan postes, yaitu hasil pretes lebih kecil daripada postes, yaitu X1 = 60,5< X = 75,33. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis ini diketahui bahwa harga t hitung = 7,84. Hasil ini dikonsultasikan dengan t tabel (t tabel dengan N = 30 atau db/df = 29) pada taraf signifikan 1% yaitu 2,76 dan taraf signifikan 5% yaitu 2,04. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil perhitungan t hitung yang diperoleh lebih besar dari pada t tabel baik pada taraf signifikan 1% maupun pada taraf signifikan 5%, Hasil perhitungan ini dapat dituliskan seperti berikut ini 2,04 < 7,84 > 2,76. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis menyatakan model pembelajaran CORE efektif terhadap kemampuan menemukan ide-ide pokok beritasiswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri B. Srikaton telah terbukti kebenarannya.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis laporan perjalanan dengan kemampuan menyampaikan laporan secara lisan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Muara Kulam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas VIII berjumlah 52 siswa yang terdiri dari 2 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini seluruh populasi yang berjumlah 52 orang. Teknik analisis data dengan langkah-langkah yaitu menghitung nilai individu kemampuan menulis laporan perjalanan dan menghitung nilai individu kemampuan menyampaikan isi laporan secara lisan, kemudian menghitung tingkat korelasi variabel X dan Y dengan menggunakan rumus indeks korelasi “r” Produck Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis laporan perjalanan dengan kemampuan menyampaikan laporan secara lisan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Muara Kulam. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan rhitung yang diperoleh lebih besar daripada rtabel pada taraf signifikansi 5% yaitu 0,86 > 0,274.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memahami peningkatan kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 51 Lubuklinggau dengan menerapkan teknik imajinasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, dan angket. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini ialah kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas yang dilakukan oleh guru beserta siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 51 Lubuklinggau. Teknik analisis data dengan tahapan: (1) reduksi data hasil observasi guru dan siswa, menulis karangan deskripsi, dan angket; (2) menganalisis hasil observasi guru dan siswa; (3) menganalisis hasil menulis karangan deskripsi; (4) menganalisis hasil angket; dan (5) kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian berupa penerapan teknik imajinasi dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 51 Lubuklinggau. Hal ini dapat ditunjukkan dengan rata-rata nilai tes pratindakan sebesar 61,28, rata-rata nilai tes siklus I sebesar 67,44, dan rata-rata nilai tes siklus II sebesar 70,12.

Abstract

The development of advertising is currently growing rapidly in line with technological developments that are increasingly unstoppable. Indeed, advertising is a medium used by a company or business entity to promote goods or services that have a persuasive language and have an ideology of capitalism. However, currently there are several advertisements that do not use persuading language, but want to incorporate elements of capitalism, such as the Djarum 76 ad that will be discussed in this study. This research will describe the ideology of capitalism in the Djarum 76 cigarette advertisement edition of Wani Piro. The research method used is the Norman Fairclough model of critical discourse analysis. The object or data in this study is the oral discourse contained in the Djarum 76 cigarette advertisement edition of Wani Piro. The technique in collecting data is done by documentation technique sourced from YouTube. In the data analysis activities in accordance with the Norman Fairclough model there are three steps of analysis namely, analysis at the level of the text, discourse practices, and socio-cultural practices. Data validity is done by member checking and expert discourse test. The results of this study indicate that the words used are more unique and funny words, and the Djarum 76 advertisement is packaged with a form of critical discourse as if concerned with the social conditions of the community. However, behind the critical discourse that is used, veiled an ideology that is capitalism in accordance with the purpose of an advertisement that is looking for profit from the product being promoted.

Abstract

Students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program at the University of Bengkulu have difficulty writing a thesis research proposal. This is proven by not many students who passed on time in semester VIII. The purpose of this research is to identify and describe: (1) the ability of students in writing thesis research proposals and (2) the difficulties faced by students in writing thesis research proposals. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The population of this study was all students of semester VII of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program in the 2017/2018 academic year. The sample of this research is 80 students who write thesis research proposals. The data collection techniques were documentation and interview techniques. Data analysis to analyze quantitative data used the percentage formula, while for qualitative data it was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis model with the steps of data reduction analysis, data display, verification, and conclusions. The results showed that the ability to write thesis research proposals for seventh semester students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program for the academic year 2017/2018 was classified as sufficient qualification. Then, students experience difficulties in compiling proposals in writing problems and problem formulations, writing theoretical foundations and literature reviews, determining research methods, data collection techniques and arranging instruments as well as testing, assessment rubrics, and research data analysis. The seventh semester students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program at the University of Bengkulu should be assisted so that they really understand how to compile a thesis research proposal so that they can write a research proposal well and in the end students will be able to complete their thesis quickly and on time.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused schools and universities to close so that online learning is one of the solutions to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. This study aims to describe students' perceptions of learning English online during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research used descriptive quantitative method. The subjects analyzed consisted of two different department groups at University of Prof. Dr. Hazairin, S.H in the 2019/2020 academic year. The number of respondents was 66 participants. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire distributed in the form of a Google form regarding student perceptions of the application of online English learning. The results of this study indicate that most students are interested in online learning. Online learning is considered to be more fun and flexible. In terms of the platform that is the medium for implementing online learning itself, the WhatsApp application is considered the best or dominant application and is very helpful for online learning during the pandemic. Therefore, this data proves that the research respondents had positive perceptions of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aim describes an overview of the research related to second language learners and reading strategies. It also considers the more recent research focusing on strategies of reading English texts on internet. The following questions are addressed: (1) what is strategy of reading English text? (2) What is the kind of reading strategy that appropriate for English text on Internet? (3) How is the strategy of reading English text applied on Internet for enhancing reading proficiency? The research method uses qualitative methods. It aims to find out the appropriate strategy in order to enhance reading proficiency. In collecting the data, the writer uses library research. The data analysis process has been carried out by reading the data, reducing, classifying, analyzing, and interpreting. Based on the results of the analysis, there are six strategies for reading proficiency on the internet to improve reading skills, namely predicting, previewing, scanning, skimming, reading for details, and speed reading. From the final result, the writers know the appropriate strategy of reading English text on internet is speed reading.

Abstract

The demands of 21th century forced students to master in English reading. Yet, the problems faced by the students in reading comprehension still become the reason of alleviation in university level. Therefore, webtoon expected to be the medium that can foster students’ reading comprehension. This experimental study aims to investigate the effect of using webtoons in teaching reading comprehension in English. The design of this research was quasi-experimental. The research sample consisted of the 33 students of X TKL/A (class A of Electricity Department) as sample of experimental class and 36 students of X TKL/C (class C of Electricity Department) as sample in control class. Multiple choice type of test was given to the student and collected as the data of this research. Based on the result of data analysis, the alternative hypothesis is accepted which is there is significant effect used webtoon in teaching reading at the first grade of vocational state school in Majalengka. The data analysis showed that mean score in experimental class that utilized webtoon as medium was higher than control class that used printed narrative text only as medium. The independent t-test result also showed that tcount was higher than ttable (2.019>2). In brief, webtoon as edutainment medium is effective to foster students’ reading comprehension especially in reading narrative text.

Abstract

One way to improve students ability to write personal letters is to apply the think talk write cooperative learning model. The purpose of this study was to describe the learning process by applying the think talk write cooperative leraning model and to describe the learning outcomes using the think talk write cooperative learning model. The research method used is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using observation and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique in this study uses three steps in analyzing the data, namely reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions or verification. Test the validity of the data using an inter rater and member check. The result showed that the steps of learning to write personal letters using the think talk write cooperative learning model, namely, think is done by giving reading matrial and asking students to write things that are considered important, talk is done by the teacher guiding students to conduct discussions about the results of student notes, and write is done by asking students to construct the results that have been obtained from the stages of think and talk. Then, the results of students ability to write personal letters by applying the think talk write cooperative learning model obtained and average value of 75,18 which was included in the sufficient category.
