Abstract

Teachers have an important role in education, in fact their role is not just to transfer knowledge, but also to play a role in the process of developing religious behavior so that children grow into religious individuals. This research aims to determine the role of teachers in developing the religious behavior of children aged 5-6 years using a qualitative approach with the case study method. The research results found that the teacher's role consists of: 1) Pedagogy, related to the teacher's methods/strategies during the learning process, by applying various interesting learning methods and also special methods provided outside the learning process such as familiarization and collaboration with parents. 2) Understanding, namely having an understanding/view of the importance of religious behavior and the impact on children in the future when religious behavior is not strong in the child. 3) Facilities, providing supporting facilities including facilities and infrastructure at schools, such as places of worship, and various educational games

Abstract

Environmental awareness is a behavior reflected in a person who is always mindful of their actions so that they do not harm the environment. This behavior is important because environmental damage is increasing due to global climate change and extreme weather. Early childhood education plays an important role in promoting environmental awareness as early as possible. This study aims to identify the problems related to environmental awareness in children and provide an alternative solution to promote environmental awareness in children aged five to six years old. Interviews conducted with two early childhood education teachers in a kindergarten in South Bekasi found that children still have low environmental awareness and the need for learning media to help promote it. The use of comic books as a teaching strategy in early childhood education is still not common as comics are often seen as shallow and lacking educational value. This study  reviews literature concerning the use of comic books as learning media in educational settings. By applying descriptive qualitative method, the results show that comic books have the potential to be used as a learning media in early childhood education. This finding is expected to serve as a reference for using comic books in learning to promote environmental awareness for children aged five to six years old.

Abstract

Early childhood education provides services in developing and facilitating children's growth and development in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Teachers are required to develop these services in the form of fun learning activities according to the child's age and level of development. Scientific literacy is one of the abilities that must be developed in early childhood. However, based on the results of field surveys through interviews with early childhood teachers from several kindergartens in Depok City, it shows that teachers' abilities in designing science based learning activities are still limited to simple science experiment activities. Teachers have not optimally used the surrounding environment as a learning resource and medium. Based on the problems found, this research aims to analyze teachers' abilities in designing fun science play activities. Researchers used literature studies to determine the role of teachers in introducing science content through fun play. A qualitative descriptive analysis method was used to describe the results of this research. The research results obtained show that the teacher's ability to introduce science content through fun activities will make it easier for children to understand science content. The better teachers understand science content and develop it in the form of fun play activities, the easier it will be for children to have an understanding of science and meaningful experiences.
