Abstract

This study aims to design a multimedia-based interactive quiz application prototype as a digital learning evaluation medium. The main problem addressed is that conventional assessment media do not always provide an integrated timer, automatic scoring, answer discussion, leaderboard, and question management. The research applies a Research and Development approach using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), consisting of concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution stages. System modeling is performed using Unified Modeling Language (UML), including a use case diagram, student activity diagram, admin activity diagram, and class diagram. The result is a system design and interface prototype that includes login, quiz selection, timer-based question answering, score calculation, answer discussion, leaderboard, and question management by the admin. Evaluation is conducted using black-box testing at the prototype level to verify feature conformity with requirement scenarios. The evaluation results indicate that all main scenarios have been represented in the prototype design. This study provides a foundation for further development into a fully functional application and user usability testing.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven educational transformation through the use of interactive multimedia as a learning medium. Although the Duolingo application is widely used, most previous studies have focused primarily on testing its effectiveness on user learning outcomes, while specific analyses regarding its interactive feature architecture remain limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of interactive multimedia features in the Duolingo application as a digital language learning medium. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, utilizing direct observation of the application system without involving user questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted through screenshot evidence reduction, narrative data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on multimedia standard literature. The results indicate that Duolingo has comprehensively implemented text, visual, and audio elements to create two-way communication. Interactivity is strongly built through microphone-based pronunciation evaluation features, instant feedback systems, and an integrated gamification approach. In conclusion, the feature anatomy in Duolingo meets the criteria for responsive and adaptive interactive multimedia, making it highly functional in facilitating users' self-directed learning.

Abstract

This study designs a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) using the Bellman-Ford algorithm to determine the shortest route for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Padang Lawas Regency. The main problem faced by MSMEs is the limited and insufficient use of information technology. This condition makes it difficult for the public to find strategic MSME locations and the fastest routes to business sites, leading to low competitiveness and marketing inefficiency. To address this issue, the system was developed using the waterfall model and integrated with Leaflet JS technology, enabling broad accessibility through the web without additional installation. The Bellman-Ford algorithm was chosen for its ability to calculate the shortest path even when negative weights are present in the graph. Test results show that the optimal route obtained is 1.795 km, more efficient compared to an alternative route of 2.563 km, providing a distance saving of about 30%. The system has proven capable of delivering fast and accurate route recommendations while simultaneously presenting MSME location information interactively. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of Bellman-Ford with interactive web-based digital maps specifically for MSME promotion, which has rarely been applied in regional contexts. The purpose of this study is to improve marketing efficiency, expand accessibility, and strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs in Padang Lawas. Furthermore, this research is expected to make a real contribution to the community in finding MSMEs more quickly and accurately..

Abstract

Proses pengelolaan peminjaman buku di Perpustakaan Kota Padangsidempuan masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti ketidakakuratan data, keterlambatan pencatatan, serta keterbatasan akses informasi bagi pengguna akibat sistem yang masih manual. Kondisi tersebut berdampak pada rendahnya efisiensi layanan serta kurang optimalnya pengalaman pengguna dalam mencari, meminjam, maupun mengembalikan buku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan sistem informasi pengelolaan perpustakaan berbasis web dengan menerapkan metode User Centered Design, sehingga kebutuhan pengguna dapat diidentifikasi secara akurat dan terakomodasi dalam solusi sistem yang dibangun. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka untuk menggali kebutuhan pustakawan dan anggota perpustakaan. Hasil penelitian mencakup perancangan prototipe sistem yang meliputi fitur login, pengelolaan koleksi, pencarian buku, peminjaman, pengembalian, pemesanan (booking) buku, serta rekomendasi otomatis berbasis Collaborative Filtering. Pengujian menggunakan metode Black Box Testing menunjukkan bahwa seluruh fitur berjalan dengan baik sesuai fungsi yang diharapkan. Kesimpulan penelitian menyatakan bahwa penerapan UCD mampu menghasilkan sistem informasi yang lebih efisien, mudah digunakan, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan pengguna, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas layanan perpustakaan serta mendukung proses administrasi secara lebih efektif.

Abstract

Learning media plays an important role in increasing students' interest and understanding of the material presented. This study aims to develop a multimedia-based interactive learning media application for 1st grade elementary school students on Theme 5: Experience, Subtheme 1: Childhood Experience. The development method used is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) which consists of the stages of concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The application was developed using Adobe Flash CS6 Professional by utilizing various multimedia elements such as text, images, animation, audio, video, quizzes, and educational games. The integration of these elements aims to create a more interesting, interactive, and enjoyable learning process for students. Application testing was conducted to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed learning media. The results showed that the application obtained a rating percentage of 92.92% with the category of "Very Good". These results indicate that the developed application is suitable for use as a learning media and is effective in assisting the teaching and learning process. Thus, this multimedia-based learning media application can be an alternative learning media that supports increasing students' motivation and understanding of the material being studied.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan perangkat lunak Bibliometrix dalam R untuk menganalisis tren penelitian terkait Analytic Network Process (ANP) selama lima tahun terakhir (2019-2024) berdasarkan dataset dari Web of Science. Setelah melakukan analisis terhadap 968 artikel ilmiah, penelitian ini tidak hanya menghasilkan wawasan mendalam tentang tren penelitian ANP, tetapi juga membentuk model hirarki yang terdiri dari: 1) Goal – tren penelitian ANP, 2) Kriteria – komponen analisis bibliometrik seperti tren kata kunci, jurnal berpengaruh, serta negara dan penulis yang aktif, dan 3) Alternatif – hasil analisis bibliometrik yang mencerminkan tren topik dalam penelitian ANP. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa analisis bibliometrik dapat digunakan untuk menentukan kriteria dan alternatif dalam perankingan tren penelitian, serta memberikan kontribusi bagi berbagai metode Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK), termasuk AHP dan ANP

Abstract

One of the study programs at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN North Sumatra Medan is the Information Systems Study Program. During the Introduction to Academic and Student Culture (PBAK) or what is usually called the orientation period, the introduction of the campus environment in the form of facilities, buildings and rooms is not very clear because it only uses video either during live or online introductions like the current pandemic, so new students do not can find out in detail. Augmented Reality (AR) applications can be a solution to make recognition clearer than video. The method in the AR application used is Markerless Augmented Reality (User Defined Target). This application was built using the C# programming language and the Rapid Application Development development method. The purpose of research and making this application is to make it easier for users (new students) to get information about the campus environment. Users can easily view the existing facilities in the Information Systems Study Program, the layout of the IV UINSU Medan campus building and the FST UINSU Medan room plan directly from their smartphone anywhere and anytime without having to ask the officers around the campus. The information presented in this application is good, easy and smooth to use and testing gets good results.

Abstract

Paskibra adalah pasukan pengibar bendera yang dibentuk dari kalangan siswa-siswi di sekolah. Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari materi pembinaan generasi muda yang diatur dalam Keputusan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan No. 0416/U/1984 tentang Pendidikan Pendahuluan Bela Negara di sekolah. Aktivitasnya mencakup Peraturan Baris‑Berbaris (PBB), Tata Upacara Bendera (TUB), serta Latihan Kepemimpinan Siswa tingkat Perintis dan Pemula. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Kualuh Selatan untuk menyeleksi calon paskibraka terbaik menggunakan metode Weighted Sum Model (WSM). Pembangunan sistemnya mengikuti model waterfall. Diharapkan, hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan proses pemilihan paskibraka yang lebih objektif karena bobot tiap kriteria telah disesuaikan dengan ketentuan di SMAN 1 Kualuh Selatan. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan sistem mampu memberikan hasil seleksi dengan akurasi sebesar 95%, waktu proses kurang dari 5 menit, serta memperoleh tingkat kepuasan pengguna dengan skor rata-rata 4,5 dari 5. Sistem juga menunjukkan konsistensi 100% dalam perhitungan dan diterima oleh 85% panitia sebagai alat bantu seleksi yang efektif dan efisien

Abstract

RAS is a trucking transportation company that provides goods delivery services to various destinations. Currently, logistics scheduling is performed manually, leading to scheduling conflicts, recording errors, and delivery delays that reduce operational efficiency. This study aims to design and develop a web-based logistics scheduling information system implementing the First in First Out (FIFO) method to improve logistics management. The research adopted the Research and Development approach using the Waterfall software development model, consisting of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The FIFO method schedules deliveries according to the sequence of incoming shipment requests, ensuring fair and systematic processing. The developed web-based system simplifies scheduling, data management, and monitoring of logistics activities. System evaluation confirmed that all functional features operated as expected. The results demonstrate that the proposed system effectively minimizes scheduling conflicts, improves data accuracy, enhances operational efficiency, and supports better decision-making for logistics scheduling at CV. RAS.

Abstract

Food security is a strategic aspect that determines community welfare and regional stability. In North Labuhanbatu Regency, 24 out of 82 villages and 8 sub-districts are still categorized as food-insecure. The main challenges include manual mapping processes and difficulties in determining the nearest food distribution routes, which make government interventions less efficient. This study aims to develop a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) to map food-insecure areas and calculate the fastest distribution routes using Dijkstra’s algorithm. The system was developed using the waterfall model through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The test results show that the system can interactively visualize 24 food-insecure villages and recommend distribution routes with an average distance of 37.04 km and an average travel time of 37.35 minutes. These results are more efficient than manual methods, which tend to generate longer routes and higher travel times. The main contribution of this research is the application of Dijkstra’s algorithm in a web-based GIS for mapping food-insecure villages, which has not been implemented previously in North Labuhanbatu Regency. This finding is expected to support local governments in making strategic decisions regarding the acceleration of food distribution, thereby improving public services and strengthening community food security.
