Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the predictive effect of social support and affective commitment on employee engagement. It is hypothesized that social support will be positively related to employee engagement, and this relationship will be transmitted through affective commitment. Survey data were collected from 115 employees who are registered as active students at Universitas 45 Surabaya. The results of multiple regression analysis show a positive relationship between social support and employee engagement mediated by affective commitment. This finding can explain to companies that employee engagement can be effective by ensuring that employees perceive their organization as providing social support by increasing employees' affective commitment.

Abstract

Karyawan yang memiliki perilaku kerja inovatif mampu menciptakan, mempromosikan dan menerapkan ide-ide baru yang bermanfaat dalam peningkatan prosedur kerja, produk dan layanan. Beberapa penelitian membuktikan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional signifikan memengaruhi munculnya perilaku kerja inovatif. Berbagi pengetahuan juga terbukti berpengaruh positif terhadap perilaku inovatif karyawan. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional dan peran berbagi pengetahuan terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif. Hipotesis pertama penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh langsung kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif. Hipotesis kedua adalah ada pengaruh tidak langsung kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif dengan melalui berbagi pengetahuan sebagai variabel mediator. Responden penelitian sebanyak 270 orang karyawan Rumah Sakit X di Kota Surabaya. Teknik sampling menggunakan simple random sampling. Alat pengumpul data dalam penelitian ini berupa kuesioner, yaitu kuesioner kepemimpinan transformasional yang diadaptasi dari MLQ form 5X-Short, perilaku kerja inovatif diadaptasi dari skala Inovative Work Behavior (IWB) dan berbagi pengetahuan diadaptasi dari skala knowledge sharing. Analisis data menggunakan teknik SEM-PLS dengan program SmartPLS 3.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional berpengaruh signifikan, positif, langsung dan tidak langsung terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif. Berbagi pengetahuan terbukti berperan sebagai pemediasi parsial.

Abstract

Achieving life satisfaction is the hope of every person, including lecturers. Based on preliminary study, problem of life satisfaction of PTKK lecturers is a real phenomenon but has never been studied scientifically so far. This study aims to examine the life satisfaction model of PTKK lecturers in terms of religiosity, self-efficacy, social support, and perceived organizational support with the meaning of work as a mediator variable. The research method used in this research is quantitative correlational with participants are 252 lecturers from 41 Christian theological seminaries in East Java. This study uses six instruments to measure each variable and the data analyzed using the SEM-PLS technique. Based on the R2 value for the endogenous variables, it was found that meaning of work got significant positive effect of 36.8% from the independent variables. While the R2 value for the life satisfaction variable is 0.259, which means that life satisfaction can be explained by variance in the independent variables of 25.9%. The results of the research hypothesis indicate that religiosity and self-efficacy have an indirect effect on life satisfaction with the meaning of work as a full mediator, while social support does not affect the meaning of work and life satisfaction. This study also proves that perceived organizational support has a direct and indirect effect on life satisfaction with the meaning of work as a partial mediator. This research result is expected to enhance efforts to increase life satisfaction of lecturers from Christian theological seminaries in East Java.

Abstract

Plant Performance Operations and Financial Tracking (PROFIT) mobile application is an effort by Pertamina, an Indonesian State-owned Enterprise that runs an integrated core business at oil, gas, and renewable energy, to implement an integrative strategic information system (SIS). PROFIT aims to provide information among employees, to monitor the performances of the refinery, facilitate communication and coordination of work activities among employees, and support the budgeting process at several projects initiated. This study examines the effect of the PROFIT mobile application as an integrated information system on employee performance. The results show that PROFIT Apps as SIS, is a positive and significant variable in the performance of the Process Engineering of Pertamina Refinery Unit III Plaju’s Employees. The samples used in the study were Process Engineering of Pertamina Refinery Unit III Plaju’s Employees. Data collection methods use questionnaires and data processing techniques used through multiple linear regression analysis. This research could contribute ideas and scientific study materials for PT. Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit III and other company management in setting policies related to development of SIS as integrative information systems as an effort to influence corporate strategy and performance positively.Keywords: corporate performance; mobile application; refinery performance; strategic information systems

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh resilience dan leader safety commitment terhadap job reattachment pada karyawan di masa pandemic covid-19. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada karyawan yang sebelumnya pernah menjalani work from home dan saat ini kembaii melakukan work from office. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Jumlah partisipan sebanyak 200 orang. Data pada penelitian ini dianalisis dengan uji regresi linear sederhana dan uji regresi linear berganda menggunakan bantuan palikasi IBM SPSS Statistics 21 for Windows. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa secara linear resilience dan leader safety commitment berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap job reattachment. Serta Ketika diteliti secara linear berganda hasil menunjukkan bahwa resilience dan leader safety commitment memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap job reattachment

Abstract

Employees, in all countries, are bearing a heavier burden in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. At least, there are three important issues that make the burden on employees, during the COVID-19 pandemic, heavier. First, is the conflict between the demands of work and family. Second, feelings of insecurity at work (job security). Third, related to the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. On the other hand, these employees are also faced with the challenges of new normal, so appropriate actions are needed when these employees return to work in the office.

Abstract

Leadership is a critical factor for organizational effectiveness and also has great influence to almost all human life. Higher education has a distinctive characteristics, so it needs a particular leadership. Recently, higher education in Indonesia is actively making organizational change, so higher education’s leaders continually make efforts to accomplish successful and significant change. The purposes of research are to examine how important is virtues of servant leadership and to examine multidimensionality of servant leadership. Result shows that servant leadership is an alternative of leadership to accomplish successful organizational change in higher education. Result also finds that servant leadership is a unidimensional construct.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between empowering leadership from the perspective of subordinates and employees innovative work behavior and to test the role of psychological empowerment as a mediator variable. The hypotheses were simultaneously tested using path analysis. Data were collected with an online survey answered by 146 employees at various manufacture industry sectors both private and public in Indonesia, such as manufacture of food and beverages products, wood, chemicals, pharmeceuticals, basic metal, and the others. Sample of this study consist of 60,3% male and 39,7% female, with the average age was 29 years old. This study found a direct and indirect relationship between empowering leadership and innovative work behavior via psychological empowerment. This study indicates that psychological empowerment partially mediates the relationship between empowering leadership and innovative work behavior. In addition, both empowering leadership and psychological empowerment are able to trigger employees innovative work behavior.Key words: Empowering Leadership, psychological empowerment, innovative work behaviorAbstrak: Inovasi yang dilakukan oleh karyawan merupakan salah satu cara terbaik dalam meningkatkan inovasi dan kesuksesan organisasi. Penelitian ini menguji hubungan antara empowering leadership berdasarkan perspektif dari bawahan dengan perilaku kerja inovatif karyawan dan menguji peran psychological empowerment sebagai variabel mediator. Hipotesis penelitian ini diuji dengan menggunakan analisis jalur. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui survei secara online yang diisi oleh 146 karyawan yang bekerja di berbagai sektor industri manufaktur baik perusahaan umum maupun swasta di Indonesia, seperti industri makanan dan minuman, kayu, farmasi, bahan kimia, logam dasar, dan lain-lain. Sampel dari penelitian ini terdiri dari 60,3% laki-laki dan 39,7% perempuan, dengan usia rata-rata responden yaitu 29 tahun. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terdapat hubungan langsung dan tidak langsung antara empowering leadership dengan perilaku kerja inovatif melalui psychological empowerment. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa psychological empowerment berperan sebagai mediator parsial dalam hubungan kedua konstruk tersebut. Empowering leadership dan psychological empowerment dapat memicu munculnya perilaku kerja inovatif karyawan.

Abstract

Tujuan studi ini adalah melakukan telaah literatur semi sistematik tentang prototipikalitas pemimpin dalam perspektif identitas sosial. Pencarian menggunakan kata kunci “leader prototypicality” dilakukan dalam berbagai basis data (Emerald, ProQuest, Scopus, Web of Science, dan Portal Garuda) terhadap artikel yang diterbitkan selama dua dekade, dari tahun 2001 hingga 2021. Sebagai hasilnya, diperoleh tujuh puluh satu artikel yang kemudian dianalisis, data diekstraksi dan disentesis sesuai tujuan telaah literatur yang dilakukan, yaitu menjelaskan tentang: (1) pengertian prototipikalitas pemimpin, (2) pengukuran prototipikalitas pemimpin, (3) pengaruh prototipikalitas pemimpin, dan (4) keterbatasan prototipikalitas pemimpin. Pada bagian akhir dilakukan kesimpulan dengan mengajukan saran bagi penelitian kepemimpinan dalam perspektif identitas sosial berikutnya, dengan menggarisbawahi pentingnya kepengikutan.

Abstract

Sharing Positive Experience adalah berbagi cerita tentang pengalaman positif individu kepada individu lain. Ketika menceritakan kembali pengalaman positif, memori kejadian positif tersebut menjadi "stimuli" yang akan mengaktifkan kembali positive affect pada individu. Positive affect ini memiliki dampak baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung terhadap beberapa aspek di organisasi seperti kinerja karyawan, meminimalisir tingkat stres di organisasi, serta keterkaitannya dengan tingginya self-esteem. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode action research yang memiliki empat tahapan yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap penerapan, tahap observasi, dan tahap evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh karyawan House of Sampoerna yang berjumlah 7 orang. Data dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan teknik wawancara dan tes sebanyak dua kali. Tes dilakukan sebelum penerapan metode dan setelah penerapan. Kemudian dibandingkan hasil kedua tes tersebut. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah metode sharing positive experience mampu meningkatkan perasaan giat, bersemangat, bangga, gembira, kuat, antusias, penuh perhatian. Selain meningkatnya positive affect, terjadi penurunan pada tingkat negative affect seperti gelisah, tidak ramah, merasa bersalah, serta takut.
