Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                        Penelitian bertujuan mengevaluasi ransum mengandung silase daun rami (Boehmeria nivea) terhadap kandungan BK dan NPK feses domba garut. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan, yaitu R1 = 100% rumput R2 = 60%   rumput + 40% konsentrat, R3 = 30% silase daun rami + 30% rumput + 40%  konsentrat, R4 = 60% silase daun rami +40% konsentrat. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak lima kali. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis ragam dan dilanjutkan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan silase daun rami sampai tingkat 60%  dalam ransum domba garut nyata mempengaruhi BK, kadar abu dan K (P<0,05), tetapi tidak mempengaruhi kandungan N dan P feses domba. Pemberian silase daun rami sebanyak 60% dalam ransum menghasilkan kandungan abu feses tertinggi (25,49%) serta menghasilkan 33,55-40,89% BK, 2,27-2,53% N, 0,57-0,67% P dan 0,21-0,34% K. Kesimpulan, penggunaan silase daun rami sampai tingkat 60% berpotensi sebagai pupuk organik dalam menyediakan unsur N,P, dan K bagi tanaman.Kata Kunci : domba garut, daun rami, feses, NPK, silaseABSTRACTThe study aimed to evaluate the ration containing silage of Boehmeria nivea leaf on the dry matter (DM) and N, P, K content of garut sheep feces. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatment, namely R1 = 100% grass; R2 = 60% grass + 40% concentrate; R3 = 30% silage of Boehmeria nivea leaf + 30% grass + 40% concentrate; and R4 = 60% silage of Boehmeria nivea leaf + 40% concentrate. Each treatment was repeated five times. The data obtained were analyzed by variance of analysis and continued with Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed that the use of Boehmeria nivea leaf silage up to 60% in garut sheep ration significantly affected the dry matter (DM), ash, and K content (P <0.05), but did not affect the N and P content of sheep feces. Giving silage of Boehmeria nivea leaf up to 60% in the ration produced the highest fecal ash content (25.49%), 33.55-40.89% DM, 2.27-2.53% N,0.57-0.67% N and 0.21-0.34% K. This research concludes that the use of Boehmeria nivea leaves silage up to 60% has the potential as an organic fertilizer in providing N, P, and K elements for plants.Keywords: Boehmeria nivea leaves, feces, garut sheep, NPK, silage

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                        Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat fisik campuran onggok dengan sari pepaya. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Data yang terkumpul dilakukan analisis uji Duncan.  Perlakuan terdiri atas 1) P0 = onggok (kontrol), 2) P1 = 1 bagian onggok + 1 bagian sari pepaya, 3) P2 = 1 bagian onggok + 2 bagian sari pepaya, dan 4) P3 = 1 bagian onggok + 3 bagian sari papaya. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 6 kali. Hasil menunjukan bahwa bahwa semakin tinggi penambahan sari pepaya pada onggok, maka semakin tinggi (P<0,05) nilai kerapatan tumpukan, sedangkan  nilai berat jenis paling tinggi (P<,005) diperoleh pada perlakuan P3 sebesar 1,03 Kg/m3, ketika  kerapatan pemadatan tumpukan tidak menunjukan perbedaan yang nyata, Kesimpulan, pencampuran onggok dengan sari pepaya mengubah sifat fisik onggok, dimana nilai kerapatan tumpukan dan berat jenis tertinggi diperoleh pada pencampuran 1 bagian onggok dengan 3 bagian sari pepaya (P3).Kata Kunci : onggok, sari pepaya, sifat fisikABSTRACTThe research aims to determine the physical properties of the mixture of onggok with papaya extract. The study was conducted experimentally with a completely randomized design (CRD). The collected data was carried out by Duncan test analysis. Treatment consists of 1) P0 = onggok (control), 2) P1 = 1 part onggok + 1 part papaya extract, 3) P2 = 1 part onggok + 2 parts papaya extract, and 4) P3 = 1 part onggok + 3 parts papaya extract. Each treatment was repeated 6 times. The results showed that the higher the addition of papaya extract to onggok, cause the higher (P <0.05) of the value of bulk density, while the highest value of specific density (P <0.05) was obtained in P3 treatment of 1.03 Kg / m3, when the compact bulk density does not show a significant difference. The conclusion, mixing onggok with papaya juice changes the physical properties of onggok, where the highest bulk density and specific density is obtained by mixing 1 part onggok with 3 parts papaya juice (P3).Keywords: onggok, papaya extract, physical properties

Abstract

ABSTRAKLimbah roti memiliki potensi sebagai pakan untuk domba, namun belum banyak diketahui dampaknya terhadap kecernaan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji ransum yang mengandung limbah roti terhadap kecernaan pada domba. Dua puluh ekor domba lokal dengan bobot hidup 34,65±2,87 kg dialokasikan ke dalam 5 ransum perlakuan yang mengandung limbah roti sebanyak 0, 6, 12,18, dan 24%. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara eksmperimental dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan sidik ragam. Hasil menunjukan bahwa penggunaan limbah roti sampai 24% dalam ransum tidak berpengaruh terhadap kecernaan protein kasar, lemak kasar, bahan kering dan bahan organik dengan nilai rataan berturut-turut 54,91%, 73,39%, 66,80% dan 69,86%. Kesimpulan, limbah roti dapat digunakan dalam ransum sampai 24% dan tidak menganggu kecernaan pada domba.Kata kunci: domba, kecernaan, limbah, ransum, rotiABSTRACTBread waste has potential as a feed for sheep, but not yet known the impact on digestibility. The research aims to test the ration containing bread waste on digestibility in sheep. Twenty local sheep with a body weight of 34.65 ± 2.87 kg were allocated into 5 treatment rations containing bread waste of 0, 6, 12.18, and 24%. The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design. The data collected was analyzed by variance. The results showed that the use of bread waste up to 24% in the ration did not affect the digestibility of crude protein, crude fat, dry matter and organic matter with an average value of 54.91%, 73.39%, 66.80% and 69.86%. Abstract

ABSTRAKProtein ampas tahu memiliki kualitas yang baik, namun mudah didegradasi oleh mikroba rumen, sehingga membutuhkan perlindungan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk melindungi protein ampas tahu dari degradasi mikroba rumen. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Data yang terkumpul dilakukan analisis sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Ampas tahu kering dicampur dengan menggunakan mikser secara merata dengan crude palm oil (CPO) sebanyak 0%, 10%, 20%, dan 30 % atau setara dengan 0% (P0), 4% (P1), 8% (P2), 12% (P3) dalam ransum.  Kemudian ampas tahu tersebut digunakan sebagai konsentrat tunggal dalam ransum yang dicampur dengan rumput pada perbandingan 40:60, setelah itu dievaluasi secara in vitro. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa proteksi ampas tahu dengan CPO menghasilkan penurunan konsentrasi N-NH3 (P<0,05) dengan nilai yang terendah adalah 2,6 mM pada P3. Sementara itu proteksi CPO juga menurunkan nilai asam lemak terbang pada P3 dan semakin tinggi penggunaan CPO menghasilkan kecernaan bahan kering dan kecernaan bahan organik yang rendah (P<0,05). Kesimpulan, penggunaan CPO mampu memproteksi protein ampas tahu, namun dapat menurunkan asam lemak terbang dan kecernaan.Kata kunci: ampas tahu, crude palm oil (CPO), in vitro, protein, ruminansia ABSTRACT   Tofu cake protein has good quality but is easily degraded by rumen microbes, so it needs protection. The research aims to protect the tofu cake protein from rumen microbial degradation. The study was conducted experimentally using a randomized complete design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The data collected was analyzed for variance analysis and followed by Duncan's test. Dried tofu waste is mixed by using mixer evenly with crude palm oil (CPO) as much as 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% or equivalent to 0% (P0), 4% (P1), 8% (P2), 12% (P3) in the ration. Then that tofu cake was used as a single concentrate in the ration mixed with grass at a ratio of 40:60, after which it was evaluated in vitro. The results showed that the protection of tofu cake with CPO resulted in a decrease in N-NH3 concentration (P<0.05) with the lowest value being 2.6 mM at P3. Meanwhile, CPO protection also reduced the value of volatile fatty acids at P3 and the higher use of CPO resulted in low dry matter and organic matter digestibility (P<0.05). In conclusion, the use of CPO is able to protect the protein of tofu cake, but it can reduce volatile fatty acids and digestibility.Keywords: crude palm oil (CPO), in vitro, protein, ruminant, tofu cake

Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2019 Februari 2020 di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Dinas Balai Pengembangan dan Perbibitan Ternak Domba dan Kambing (UPTD BPPTDK) Margawati, Garut, Jawa Barat. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kurva pertambahan bobot badan Domba Garut jantan umur 13-16 bulan yang diberi ransum pada imbangan 40% hijauan dan 60% konsentrat. Domba garut jantan yang digunakan berjumlah 8 ekor yang dipelihara selama 12 minggu. Kurva PBBH dianalisis menggunakan aplikasi Curve Expert, model kurva terbaik ditentukan berdasarkan persamaan regresi yang memiliki koefisien determinasi (R2) terbesar dengan standart error (SE) yang terkecil. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan 3 model kurva dengan nilai R2 yang besar dengan SE yang kecil yaitu Fungsi Rasional (R2 = 0,999; SE = 10,31), Fungsi Eksponensial (R2 = 0,998; SE = 17,91) dan Fungsi Polinomial (R2 = 0,978; SE = 73,54). Model kurva PBBH terbaik diperoleh pada model kurva fungsi rasional karena memiliki R2 yang paling besar dengan SE yang paling kecil.Kata kunci: pertambahan bobot badan harian, domba garut, hijauan, konsentrat Body Weight Growth Curve of Garut Sheep Aged 13-16 Months Feed Ration Containing 40% Grass and 60% ConcentrateABSTRACTThe study was conducted in November 2019-February 2020 in Sheep and Goat Development and Breeding Center, Margawati, Garut, West Java. The study aimed to determine the average daily gain (ADG) curve of male garut sheep aged 13-16 months which were given rations at a balance of 40% forage and 60% concentrate. There are 8 male garut sheep used that are kept for 12 weeks. The ADG curve was analyzed using the Curve Expert application program, the best curve model was determined based on a regression equation that has the largest coefficient of determination (R2) with the smallest standard error (SE). The results of the study produced 3 curve models with large R2 values with small SE, namely Rational Functions (R2 = 0.999; SE = 10.31), Exponential Functions (R2 = 0.998; SE = 17.91) and Polynomial Functions (R2 = 0.978; SE = 73.54). The best ADG curve model is obtained in the rational function curve model because it has the largest R2 with the smallest SE.Keywords: average daily gain (ADG), concentrate, forages, garut sheep

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan Indigofera zollingeriana dalam ransum terhadap kinerja ayam sentul. Seratus empat puluh empat ekor ayam Sentul dialokasikan ke dalam 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Unggas tersebut dipelihara dari mulai day old chick (DOC) sampai umur 3 minggu dengan diberi ransum BR 501 CP, selanjutnya selama 7 minggu diberi ransum perlakuan. Ransum perlakuan tersebut adalah 1) R1 = ransum komersial (Sinta SP 22), 2) R2 = ransum yang biasa digunakan peternak, 3) R3 = ransum mengandung Indigofera zollingeriana 20% tanpa jagung, 4) R4 = ransum mengandung Indigofera zollingeriana 10%, 5) R5 = ransum mengandung Indigofera zollingeriana 15%, 6) R6 = ransum mengandung Indigofera zollingeriana 20% dan mengandung jagung. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dan data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan uji Duncan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi dan konversi ransum tidak menunjukan perbedaan yang nyata, tapi pertambahan bobot badan tertinggi (P<0,05) dicapai pada R1 dengan bobot badan akhir sebesar 833,25 g pada umur 10 minggu. Ransum R4 yang mengandung Indigofera zollingeriana 10% menghasilkan pertambahan bobot badan yang sama dengan R1 dengan bobot akhir penelitian sebesar 722 g. Kesimpulan Indigofera zollingeriana sebanyak 10% dapat diberikan dalam ransum ayam sentul.Kata kunci:  ayam sentul, performa, Indigofera zollingerianaABSTRACTThis study was aimed to utilize Indigofera zollingeriana in diets on the performance of sentul chicken. One hundred and fourty four sentul chickens were allocated into 6 treatments and 4 repetitions. This poultry was kept from DOC until the age of 3 weeks with BR 501 CP diets, next for 7 weeks fed treatment diets. The treatment diet was 1) R1 = commercial diet (Sinta SP 22), 2) R2 = diet commonly used by breeder, 3) R3 = diet containing Indigofera zollingeriana 20% without maize, 4) R4 = diet containing Indigofera zollingeriana 10%,  5) R5 = diet containing Indigofera zollingeriana 15%, 6) R6 = diet containing Indigofera zollingeriana 20% and containing maize. The study used a complete randomized design and the collected data were analyzed by Duncan test. The results showed that the consumption and conversion of diets did not show any significant difference, but the highest body weight gain (P <0.05) was achieved in R1 with final bodyweight of 833.25 g at 10 weeks. The R4 diet containing 10% Indigofera zollingeriana resulted in the same weight gain as R1 with the final weights of 722 g. Conclusion Indigofera zollingeriana as much as 10% can be given in sentul chicken diets.Keywords: performance, Indigofera zollingeriana, sentul chicken

Abstract

The aim of this study was to study the use of a mixture of Moringa leaves with cassava pulp (MLCP) to replace concentrate and its impact on in vitro fermentability and digestibility. The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. Basal treatment in 40% rice straw as a source of fiber and 60% concentrate, then concentrate was replaced with MLCP in stages, namely 15%, 30%, 45%, and 60%.
