Abstract

This study focuses on perceived external prestige in reducing deviant workplace behavior by mediating job satisfaction and organizational commitment. This study aimed to determine and analyze the effect of perceived external prestige on deviant workplace behavior, either directly or indirectly, through the mediation of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. This study used saturated sampling. The sample used in this study is the civil servant of the Regional Government of Kediri Regency, East Java, especially the Regional Apparatus Organizations. Three Regional Apparatus Organizations are the Regional Personnel Agency, the Department of Transportation, and the Region Financial and Asset Management Agency, with a sample of 117 civil servants. The analytical method used is a causal study. Data were analyzed and processed using PLS-SEM statistical programming to evaluate the outer and inner structure of the model. The results reveal that perceived external prestige negatively and significantly affects deviant workplace behavior. The results of the mediation test show that job satisfaction and organizational commitment partially mediate the effect of perceived external prestige on deviant workplace behavior. Subsequent research studies will yield different results in another industry or region. Further research can conduct thorough research on all Regional Apparatus Organizations to obtain comprehensive research results, and systematic sampling techniques can be used to avoid cognitive bias from respondents.

Abstract

Hasil studi empirik tentang pengaruh tiga keputusan keuangan utama yaitu keputusan investasi, keputusan pendanaan, dan kebijakan deviden terhadap nilai perusahaan belum konsisten. Ketidak konsisten hasil ditengarai ada kaitannya dengan variabel resiko sebagai mediator antara ketiga keputusan dengan nilai perusahaan; Namun penelitian secara terpadu belum ditemukan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk: mengidentifikasi dan mengukur kontribusi pengaruh keputusan investasi, keputusan pendanaan dan kebijakan deviden yang dimediasi oleh resiko pada sektor properti dan real estat di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Dengan pendekatan analisis jalur diperoleh beberapa temuan yang penting yaitu keputusan investasi berpengaruh terhadap nilai perusahaan namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap resiko perusahaan, Keputusan pendanaan hanya berpengaruh terhadap nilai perusahaan bila keputusan pendanaan mampu menurunkan resiko perusahaan (resiko bisnis, resiko keuangan dan resiko pasar). Kebijakkan deviden tidak berpengaruh terhadap nilai perusahaan,baik secara langsung maupun melalui resiko perusahaan. Ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel resiko hanya memediasi keputusan pendanaan. Dari ketiga macam keputusan tersebut ternyata keputusan investasi memberikan kontribusi paling utama pada nilai perusahaan.

Abstract

This study aimed at explaining the strategies of success in running family-owned enterprise to enable the next generation to develop the company which had been established by previous generations. This was a qualitative research with a case study approach conducted on military equipment business inTulungagung Regency. The results of this study indicated that the strategies of success in family-owned companies were through the process of selection of candidates for the next generation of the company and handing over all power to the elected candidates. Conflicts emerged inside the process of selection or determination of business leaders but through meetings orde liberation with all members of the second generation and produced an agreement that three of the six children of the family went into the organizational structure to manage the business. While the other three children set up their own business, however, the three children were still related to the development of family companies.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the role of communication, satisfaction, and commitment as the antecedents of trust; also, this research observes the role of trust in the long-term relationship.Data collection is done through questionnaire distribution. The questionnaire is sent to 80 owners/managers of laptop retail stores in Malang city. The respondents are chosen using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis technique this research using path analysis. The result indicates that communication, satisfaction, and commitment influence trust; next, trust affects the long-term relationship. Communication has the most significant effect on trust compared to commitment and satisfaction. This finding is expected to be able to help the retailers in maintaining the long-term relationship with their supplier by considering the relationship between trust and communication as well as satisfaction and commitment with their supplier.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of paternalistic leadership on Gen-Y employees'turnover intentions, mediated by motivation and satisfaction. The research used 186 samples of Gen-Y employees from BCA Regional Office, Malang as respondents. Research data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed through SmartPLS. The results indicate that paternalistic leadership affects Gen-Yemployees'turnover intentions through satisfaction.Mediation effect of motivation is not found in the influence of paternalistic leadership on turnover intention.The implementation of paternalistic leadership cannot keep turnover rate low, but only to help.

Abstract

The study aims to describes the members of the public sector organizations understanding, namely Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan (LPMP) Bali on strategic management framework with a balanced scorecard approach and identify challenges of the balanced scorecard implementation in LPMP Bali Province. The research method is descriptive qualitative case study approach, the informants all officials in the structural and functional LPMP Bali Province. The results showed that members of the organization LPMP understand framework strategy management with the balanced scorecard approach as a framework that can provide useful information and can help every member of the organization in making better decisions. By using a balanced scorecard approach, LPMP Bali is expected to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in providing services to stakeholders. The challenge in the application of the balanced scorecard in LPMP Bali, the members of the organization feel comfortable with the old habits that lack the motivation to make changes in work culture, mindset and habits that they have done so far.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan Puri mempunyai arti penting bagi masyarakat Ubud, Bali. Studi ini ingin meneliti tentang peran kepemimpinan Puri bagi masyarakat khususnya dalam menciptakan artefak budaya yang mengglobal, dalam transformasi budaya dari masyarakat agraris ke masyarakat pariwisata dan dalam penanaman Falsafah hidup bagi masyarakat. Paradigma non positivist dengan metode etnografi digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan informan utama adalah Tetua Puri Saren Ubud. Metode snowbowling digunakan untuk penentuan informan berikutnya sampai didapat informasi yang valid sehingga jumlah informan mencapai dua puluh tujuh orang. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kepemimpinan Puri melalui modal-modal, yaitu ekonomi, sosial, budaya dan simbolik, mampu berperan sebagai agent of change budaya masyarakat Desa Adat Ubud Bali.

Abstract

The objective of research is to measure and to analyze the effect of market orientation on competing strategy, competing strategy on performance, market orientation on performance, and environmental dynamic moderation in the competing strategy on performance at weaving small-middle industries at Southeast Sulawesi. Research object is that the weaving small-middle industries (SMI's) at Southeast Sulawesi. Data type is primary data. The population of the weaving SMI's is 219 units. Sampling technique is Saturation Sampling. There are 202 units of questionnaire but only 2 are unused. Therefore, the population to analyze is 200 units spread throughout five districts/towns at Southeast Sulawesi. The analysis tool is Structural Equation Model with Amos 16 Program. The findings of the study show that increasing performance of the SMIs in Southeast Sulawesi is done directly through market orientation effectiveness and indirectly done through proper competitive strategy application. The environment dynamics strengthens the appropriateness of competitive strategy to increase the performance of the weaving SMIs in Southeast Sulawesi. The market effectiveness of market orientation done through customers' orientation with competitive strategy through product differentiation has increased the performance of the weaving SMIs. The appropriate application of competitive strategy suitable with environment dynamic through the intensity of competition encourages the increase of performance at the market share extension of the weaving SMIs in Southeast Sulawesi.

Abstract

The research objective is to reveal and investigate the direct and indirect influence of leadership style on the work performance of private university lecturers in Jayapura. Quantitative approach was applied to achieve the research objective. The data are analyzed by applying a statistic technique PLS (Partial Least Square). The research findings are: (1) the biggest contribution of the influence of leadership style towards the lecturers'work performance in series are: (a) work motivation line as a mediator, (b) work satisfaction line as a mediator, (c) combination of work satisfaction and work motivation line as a mediator. (2) to create better lecturers'work performance, a leader should: (a) be more creative and initiative, help in problems solving, enhance the lecturers, and follow the surrounding movements, (b) be able to create comfortable feeling for the lecturers so that they have great interest to their jobs, and create joyful work environment, and (c) be able to improve lecturers'work motivation through the togetherness in work, pay attention to carrier promotion, and give achievement to the lecturers having good work performance.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the difference of perception on KOMPAS brand personality; free-post the brand extension introduction. This explanatory research utilities in descriptive writing and applied experimental approach. This research design is a-within-subjects experimental design, in which the researcher compares two or more different treatment conditions (or compares treatment and control) by observing or measuring the same group of individuals in all of the treatment conditions being compared.Personality model is an approach to determine brand personality refering to the big five dimensions by Geuens, et. al (responsibility, activity, aggresiveness, simplicity, and emotionality). As a printed mediabrand, KOMPAS executly the brand development strategies by extending its brand to Kompas.com and KOMPAS TV which assumed it can change the major brand personality. The findings are: the composit forming to be 7 (seven) newly factors standing for brand personality KOMPAS (reliable, relevant, involve, up to date, representative, trustworthy, and emotionally touch); and the provided treatments significantly result on different changed perception of participants to examine the factors on KOMPAS brand personality with 10% level of significance. For the result, by extending its brand, the personality of KOMPAS changes.
