Abstract

This research was aimed to describe flexibility thinking skill on the acid base matery by using guided inquiry model learning for high, intermediate and low groups of student.  The subjects were students of class XI IPA SMA Swadhipa Natar who have 32 students.  This research used the pre-experimental method, a one-shot case study design,  and statistic descriptive research.  The results showed that the skill of flexibility thinking on the acid base matery in high level group 57,14% were excellent, 28,57% were good, and 14,3% were enough.  In the intermediate level group, 31,25% were excellent and 68,75% were good.  In the low level group, 33,33% were good and 66,67% were enough. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk men­deskripsikan kemampuan berpikir luwes siswa pada materi asam basa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing untuk siswa kelompok tinggi, sedang dan rendah.  Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Swadhipa Natar yang berjumlah 32 siswa.  Penelitian ini mengunakan metode pre-eksperimen, desain penelitian one shot case study, dan  analisis statistik deskriptif.  Hasil penelitian menun­juk­kan bahwa kemampuan berpikir luwes pada materi asam basa menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing pada kelompok tinggi 57,14% berkriteria sangat baik, 28,57% berkriteria baik, dan 14,3% lain-nya berkri­teria cukup.  Pada ke­lom­pok sedang, 31,25% berkriteria sangat baik dan 68,75% berkri­teria baik.  Pada kelompok rendah, 33,33% berkri­teria baik dan 66,67% lainnya berkri­teria cukup. Kata kunci : Asam basa, inkuiri terbimbing, kemampuan berpikir luwes, kemampuan kognitif.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to develop student worksheets based on multiple representations on classification of matter; to describe the characteristics of student worksheets based on multiple representations; to describe the teachers and students responses; and to describe constraints that encountered during the research. This research used Research and Development method. The percentage of teachers responses about aspects in content suitability, readability, and construction of developed student worksheets were 92.63%; 94.73%; and 95.23%, respectively with very good criteria. The percentage of students responses about the readability and attractiveness of developed student worksheets were also very good, with the percentage were 84.42% and 84.71%, respectively.Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) berbasis multipel representasi pada materi klasifikasi materi, mendeskripsikan karakteristik LKS berbasis multipel representasi, tanggapan guru serta siswa, dan kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Persentase tanggapan guru terhadap aspek kesesuaian isi, keterbacaan, dan konstruksi sebesar 92,63%; 94,73%; dan 95,23% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Persentase tanggapan siswa terhadap keterbacaan dan kemenarikan pada LKS yang dikembangkan juga sangat baik yaitu dengan persentase 84,42% dan 84,71%.Kata kunci: klasifikasi materi, LKS, multipel representasi

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of scientific approach to improve the students sensitivity in chemical equilibrium subject matter. The research method that used was quasi experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research were all students of class XI Science SMAN 1 Purbolinggo year 2013-2014. Sampling was done by purposive sampling and obtained class XI IPA 2 as experimental class and XI IPA 4 as control class. The effectiveness of scientific approach in the learning was showed by the significant n-gain difference between the experimental class and the control class. The result showed that average n-gain of students sensitivity in the control and experimental classes were 0,36 and 0,58 respectively. From the hypotesis testing, it was concluded that  scientific approach was effective to improve the students sensitivity in chemical equilibrium subject matter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pendekatan scientific dalam meningkatkan sensitivitas siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan  Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Purbolinggo semester ganjil Tahun 2013-2014.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling dan diperoleh kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol.  Efektivitas pendekatan pada pembelajaran diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata n-gain sensitivitas untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,36 dan 0,58.  Dari pengujian hipotesis, disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan scientific efektif dalam meningkatkan sensitivitas siswa pada pembelajaran kesetimbangan kimia. Kata kunci: kesetimbangan kimia, pendekatan scientific, sensitivitas.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to develop the assessment instrument based on science process skill and to describe teachers response about developed assesment instrument. This research used Research and Development (RD) method. This research was guided by need assesment questionnaire instrument, validations authority, teacher responses instrument. This assessment instrument characteristics was the assessment instrument that measures students' cognitive skills associated with science process. The validation result was obtained percentage on aspects in suitability of content, readability, and construction were 93.75 %; 84,61 %; and 94 %, respectively. The percentages of teacher responses to assessment instrument was obtained on aspects in suitability of content, readability, and construction were 89,37%; 86,15%; and 87,75%. Thus, assessment instruments developed have very high criteria with the average percentage of 90,78 %.Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen asesmen berbasis keterampilan proses sains (KPS) dan mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru mengenai instrumen asesmen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (RD). Penelititan ini menggunakan instrumen angket analisis kebutuhan, instrumen validasi ahli, instrumen tanggapan guru. Karakteristik instrumen asesmen ini adalah instrumen asesmen yang mengukur ranah kognitif siswa yang berhubungan dengan keterampilan proses sains. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli diperoleh persentase asesmen pada aspek kesesuaian isi, keterbacaan, dan konstruksi sebesar 93,75%; 84,61%; dan 94,00%. Persentase tanggapan guru pada aspek uji kesesuaian isi, keterbacaan, dan kontruksi adalah sebesar 89,37%; 86,15%; dan 87,75%. Jadi, instrumen asesmen yang dikembangkan memiliki kriteria sangat tinggi dengan rata-rata persentase sebesar 90,78%.Kata kunci : asesmen, KPS, stoikiometri

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectiveness and characteristics of guided inquiry learning model in salt hydrolysis lesson to improve the skills of constructing arguments and giving reasons. Populations in this research is all students of State senior high school 1 Gadingrejo even semester of Academic Year 2011-2012 with XI Science 3 class and XI Science 4 class as sample. This research uses a quasi-experimental methods Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model is measured by an increase in significant N-gain. Results showed N-gain average of construct argument skills for the experimental class and control class respectively 0.61 and 0.35; and N-gain average of give reason skills for the experimental class and control class respectively 0.56 and 0,29. Testing the hypothesis in this research using two average difference test with the t-test statistical formula. The results of hypothesis testing showed the skill of construct arguments and give reasons students on salt hydrolysis lesson that is applied guided inquiry learning model is higher than those applied to conventional learning. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it was concluded that guided inquiry learning model is effective in improving the skills of construct arguments and give reasons on salt hydrolysis lesson. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the effectiveness of scientific approach to the students’ skill in evaluating the chemical equlibrium material.  The subject of this research is all of the students in XI IPA SMA Negeri1 Bangunrejo in odd semester 2013-2014.  In addition, XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2 act as sample.  The research method is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest control group design.  The effectiveness of this method is measured through significant n-Gain between the control class and experimental class.  The result shows that the n-Gain for evaluating in control class is 0,249 while the score for experimental class is 0,52.  Based on the hypothesis testing, the researcher concludes that,statistically, there is a significant improvement between the class which is taught through traditional way and the class which is taught through scientific approach.  This result shows that the scientific approach is an effective method to be used in the learning of chemical equlibrium material.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pendekatan ilmiah terhadap keterampilan siswa dalam mengevaluasi pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Bangunrejo semester ganjil Tahun 2013-2014 dengan kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2 sebagai sampel.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design.  Efektivitas ini diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan mengevaluasi untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,249 dan 0,52.  Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, disimpulkan bahwa secara statistik keterampilan siswa dalam mengevaluasi menunjukkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional dengan kelas yang menggunakan pendekatan ilmiah.  Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran materi kesetimbangan kimia menggunakan pendekatan ilmiah efektif terhadap keterampilan siswa dalam mengevaluasi.Kata kunci:  kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan siswa dalam mengevaluasi,pendekatan ilmiah.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the Learning Cycle three-phase (LC 3E)  learning model that are effective in improving the prediction skills and concept’ mastery on acid-base material. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. This research use a quasi-experimental methods with Non Equivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. The sample in this research is students of State Senior High School 1 Pekalongan in East Lampung and obtained XI sains 1 and XI sains 4 class at school year 2013-2014 which has almost the same characteristics. The effectiveness of LC 3E learning model measured on the difference and the improvement of a significant gain. The results showed the average value of n-Gain prediction skills for control class and experiment class are 0.37 and 0.62, and the average value of n-Gain concept’ mastery for control class and experiment class are 0.53 and 0.65. Based on the test of the hypothesis, it is known that a class with LC 3E learning model has prediction skills and concept’ mastery higher than conventional class learning. This showed that the LC 3E learning was more effective in improving the prediction skills and concept’s  mastery.Keywords: Learning Cycle three-phase, the prediction skills, and concept’ mastery.

Abstract

This research was aimed to develop the simple distillation tool based on household wares. This research used research and development design until main product revision.Based on the validation results, feasibility of distillation tool has a very high category with a percentage of 100% in aspects of accordance aspect with the learning module, educational value, tool durability, the efficiency, and safety for student. The results of teachers` responses to the five aspects were very high category with a percentage of 100%. The results of students` responses to tool durability, the efficiency used of the tools, and safety for student were very high category with a percentage of 100%. Based on this research, the simple tool was valid and feasible to be used in learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat distilasi sederhana berbasis peralatan rumah tangga. Penelitian ini digunakan desain penelitian dan pengembangan sampai tahap revisi hasil uji coba. Berdasarkan hasil validasi, kelayakan alat distilasi memiliki kategori sangat tinggi dengan persentase 100% pada aspek keterkaitan dengan bahan ajar, nilai pendidikan, ketahanan alat, efisiensi penggunaan alat, dan keamanan bagi siswa. Hasil tanggapan guru terhadap kelima aspek tersebut berkategori sangat tinggi dengan persentase 100%. Hasil tanggapan siswa terhadap aspek ketahanan alat, efisiensi penggunaan alat, dan keamanan bagi siswa berkategori sangat tinggi dengan persentase 100%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, alat praktikum hasil pengembangan valid dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.Katakunci:alat distilasi, berbasis peralatan rumah tangga, distilasi sederhana

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the abilities of foccusing the question and analyzing the argument using guided inquiry models. The subjects were determined by consideration of the subject teacher based on diversity in cognitive abilities. The subjects were students of class XI IPA3 SMA Negeri 1 Natar Academic Year 2012/2013. This research used the pre-experimental method with one-shot case study design. The results showed that the ability in formulating some criteria to consider the possible answer, high level group, 62,5% were excellent, and 37,5% were good; intermediate level group, 21% were excellent, 54% were good, and 25% were enough; low level group, 40% were good and 60% enough.  The ability identificating the conclusion, high level group;  37,5% were excellent, and 62,5% were good; intermediate level group, 8% were excellent, 71% were good, and 21% were enough; low level group, 30% were good, and 70% were enough. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan memfokuskan pertanyaan dan menganalisis argumen pada materi koloidmenggunakan model pembelajaraninkuiri terbimbing. Subyek penelitian ditentukan dengan pertimbangan guru mata pelajaran berdasarkan keberagaman kemampuan kognitif. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA3 SMAN1 Natar tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain one-shot case study.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan merumuskan kriteria untuk mempertimbangkan jawaban yang mungkin, untuk kelompok tinggi,62,5% berkriteria sangat baik dan 37,5% baik; kelompok sedang, 21% berkriteria sangat baik, 54% baik, dan 25% cukup; kelompok rendah, 40% berkriteria baik dan 60% cukup. Kemampuan mengidentifikasi kesimpulan, untuk kelompok tinggi,37,5% berkriteria sangat baikdan 62,5% baik;kelompok sedang,8% berkriteria sangat baik,71% baik, dan 21% cukup;kelompok rendah,30% berkriteria baik dan 70% cukup. Kata kunci: inkuiri terbimbing, koloid, mengidentifikasi kesimpulan, merumuskan kriteria.
