Abstract

As a product of media, advertisements in both print and electronic media withtheir hegemony are made to persuade readers or listeners to act as the advertisements wish,namely buying the advertised products. Based on an analysis of mass media, inadvertisements by cellular phone operators, there is a price war as a strategy to attractconsumers. Each cellular phone operator tries to show an image that the company offersthe lowest price. This may influence and deceive consumers as the party that is forced touse the company's service. In practice, an offer with a low price usually needs a conditionand requirement that consumers have not known before. Therefore, it is necessary thatconsumers should be selective and critical in digesting an advertisement made by a cellularphone operator offering a low price.Keywords: advertisement, cellular phone operator, mass media

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis pemakaian metafora dalam tayangan video Youtube karya Pandji Pragiwaksono berjudul “Dinasi Pasti Buruk untuk Negeri” menggunakan teori metafora Lakoff dan Johnson dan (2) mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis metafora dalam tayangan video Youtube karya Pandji Pragiwaksono berjudul “Dinasti Pasti Buruk untuk Negeri” menggunakan teori Lakoff dan Johnson. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deksriptif kualitatif, yang penelitian yang bersifat deskripsi. Sumber data penelitian ini yaitu tayangan video Youtube karya Pandji Pragiwaksono berjudul “Dinasti Pasti Buruk untuk Negeri”. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa ungkapan yang disampaikan oleh Pandji Pragiwaksono dalam videonya. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan dua jenis metafora yang digunakan yaitu metafora struktural dan metafora ontologis. Metafora merupakan penggunaan ungkapan atau kata yang mengandung makna kiasan. Metafora struktural digunakan untuk menggambarkan satu konsep menggunakan konsep yang lain, sedangkan metafora ontologis berkaitan dengan proses mental yang terdapat dalam ungkapan yang digunakan oleh Pandji Pragiwaksono. Metafora dianalisis sesuai dengan domain sumber dan domain sasaran. Metafora yang dihadirkan cukup sering digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari untuk meyakinkan pemirsa terkait argumen yang diungkapkan oleh Pandji Pragiwaksono.

Abstract

This training aims to train Indonesian language teachers in using AI actively, creatively, and innovatively as artificial intelligence-based learning media in the era of learning with a deep learning approach. The activity was attended by 40 Indonesian language teachers from MTs and MA in Bantul Regency. This program is in collaboration with the MGMP Bahasa Indonesia MTs, Bantul Regency and supported by the Department of Education, Department of Religious Affairs, Bantul Regency. The training activity was held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, offline at MAN 3 Bantul, followed by assignments and mentoring, then met again online on June 16, 2025. . The output of this activity is a learning design created by participants by incorporating AI elements integrated into project-based learning. In addition, the results of the satisfaction evaluation showed that participants considered this activity very beneficial for them, especially increasing insight and making language learning more interesting and enjoyable.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the quality of the learning process of reading explanatory texts and improve the skills of reading explanatory texts in students of class XI TKR SMK Negeri 2 Tarakan. This research is a classroom action research. The subject of this study is students of class XI TKR SMK Negeri 2 Tarakan in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The implementation and implementation procedures at the research site consist of two cycles. In cycles I and II, two meetings were held. The activities of each cycle include: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data was obtained with instruments in the form of: student activity observation sheets, teacher activity observation sheets, field notes, interview guidelines, documentation, and tests. The analysis techniques in this study include the process and results of classroom actions that are carried out in a descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative manner. The success rate of the process if in this study there is a change in improving the quality of the learning process. The success rate of the product is achieved if each student experiences an increase in the score of observation results and assessment of explanatory text reading skills through the inquiry method assisted by natural phenomena video. The results of the study showed that there was an improvement in the quality of the learning process of explanatory text reading skills and explanatory text reading skills of students in class XI TKR SMK Negeri 2 Tarakan even semester of the 2023/2024 school year through the application of the natural phenomenon video-assisted inquiry method. The improvement of explanatory text reading skills can be seen in the average score of the results of the ability to read explanatory texts from the pre-action stage, cycle I, and cycle II. The average score in the pre-action was 68.53. In the first cycle, the average score was 70.15, and in the second cycle, the average score was 79.71

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning model for listening skills that integrates a synthetic approach, local cultural content, and audiovisual technology in Indonesian language education. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design with the ADDIE framework (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), data were collected through surveys, interviews, observations, and expert evaluations, and analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings indicate that integrating local cultural content with audiovisual technology not only enhances students’ listening skills but also increases their motivation and active participation. By presenting learning material that is culturally relevant, engaging, and interactive, students become more interested, involved, and motivated throughout the learning process. Further research is recommended to examine the feasibility of this model across diverse educational contexts and to develop more comprehensive assessment tools that can better capture improvements in listening skills and student engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine collaborative strategies in teaching reading comprehension in descriptive texts for seventh-grade junior high school students. Collaborative strategies were chosen because they are considered effective in increasing student interaction, involvement, and understanding through collaboration between educators and students. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with data sources in the form of literature reviews. The data collection technique used was documentation, and the research instrument was the researcher herself who conducted in-depth data collection and analysis. Data analysis was conducted descriptively to describe in detail various collaborative strategies that can be applied in teaching reading descriptive texts. The results of the study indicate that the application of collaborative strategies in teaching reading descriptive texts for seventh-grade junior high school students can significantly improve student comprehension. Collaborative strategies enable teachers to reduce the student-to-teacher ratio, provide more individual attention, and facilitate effective learning support through various approaches. In addition, collaboration between teachers allows for more comprehensive monitoring, adjustment, and evaluation of learning. These findings provide a basis for developing more effective reading learning practices and serve as a reference for further research related to the implementation of collaborative strategies in the classroom. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi kolaboratif dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman pada teks deskripsi bagi siswa kelas VII SMP. Strategi kolaboratif dipilih karena dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan interaksi, keterlibatan, dan pemahaman siswa melalui kerja sama antarpendidik maupun antar-siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data berupa kajian pustaka. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi, dan instrumen penelitian berupa peneliti sendiri yang melakukan pengumpulan dan analisis data secara mendalam. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan secara rinci berbagai strategi kolaboratif yang dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran membaca teks deskripsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi kolaboratif dalam pembelajaran membaca teks deskripsi pada siswa kelas VII SMP dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa secara signifikan. Strategi kolaboratif memungkinkan guru untuk mengurangi rasio siswa per guru, memberikan perhatian lebih individual, serta memfasilitasi dukungan belajar yang efektif melalui berbagai pendekatan. Selain itu, kolaborasi antar guru memungkinkan pemantauan, penyesuaian, dan evaluasi pembelajaran lebih menyeluruh. Temuan ini memberikan dasar bagi pengembangan praktik pembelajaran membaca yang lebih efektif dan menjadi referensi bagi penelitian selanjutnya terkait implementasi strategi kolaboratif di kelas.

Abstract

This study, titled Inclusive Education and Papuan Literature for Diversity and Equality, aims to develop inclusive education teaching materials grounded in Papuan literary culture to foster values of equality and diversity in the educational context of Eastern Indonesia. Using a research and development (R&D) approach, the study adopts Plomp’s model, consisting of five systematic phases: initial investigation, design, realization, test-evaluation-revision, and implementation. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Sorong Regency, involving 21 Grade VII students. Data were gathered through expert validation—covering content, media, and language aspects—and teacher feedback on the practicality of the materials. The effectiveness test revealed an improvement in student learning outcomes, with a gain score of 0.46, categorized as moderate (0.3–0.7 range). Theoretically, this study contributes to the integration of local cultural narratives into inclusive literacy instruction, strengthening frameworks of multicultural and place-based learning. Its novelty lies in leveraging the literary richness of Papua to develop adaptive, inclusive literacy materials. Practically, the resulting product serves as a validated, practical, and effective model applicable in 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) regions, promoting students' cultural identity, tolerance, and active engagement in learning.

Abstract

Writing explanatory text is a complex skill and requires a deep understanding of the topic, so strategies are needed that can help. This research aims to test the effectiveness of the 3W2H strategy in learning to write explanatory texts in high school. The research design uses quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The research population was all class XI students at SMAN 1 Mojolaban, totaling 354 students. Samples were taken using cluster random sampling techniques so that 42 students were obtained as the experimental class and 48 students as the control class. Data is collected through performance tests. Research validity uses content validity, namely consulting experts. The collected data was then analyzed using ANOVA and Scheffe's test. The research results showed that the average pre-test and post-test results for writing explanatory text for the experimental group using the 3W2H strategy were 58.48 and 83.14, while for the control group it was 61.92 and 70.3. These results show that the experimental group increased by 42.21%, while the control group increased by 13.53%. Apart from that, the p value is <0.001 or smaller, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the posttest results of the experimental and control groups. Furthermore, the Scheffe test results show a p value <0.01 or smaller than 0.05, so the research shows that the 3W2H strategy is more effective than conventional strategies. These results indicate that the 3W2H strategy can be an alternative in writing explanatory text.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the dynamics that occur as a result of conflict between two opposing parties, namely the minority party and the ruling party. The approach used is qualitative descriptive with a three-dimensional analysis of Norman model discourse Fairclough, namely texts, discourse practices, and sociocultural practices. The steps in this research include: reading the novel Bakri Sang Guru Demonstran; sorting data accordingly; and interpreting and concluding data. The results of this research are as follows following. First, text analysis shows that the author uses linguistic features to convey ideology about the ideal teacher figure and how the powerful try to intervene against minority groups. Second, seen from the perspective of discourse practice, text production is influenced by the author’s background as a practitioner of education and this novel was written to provide education to readers about the ideals of teachers and the challenges they face. Third, the sociocultural dimension shows that the flow story in the novel represents various problems that occur in society, especially in the field of education. That matter can be seen from various reports that appear in space public. Implications from the study This is possible to increase the breadth community (reader) understanding of the dynamics of the world of education and improvement system education through policy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the role playing model with an ethno-pedagogical approach to early childhood language and reading skills. This study is a meta-analysis study. The inclusion criteria in this study are 1) the research must be relevant; 2) data is obtained from national or international journals indexed by SINTA or Scopus; 3) the study was published in the 2022-2024 time frame; and 4) the study must report complete data to calculate the effect size value. Analyze data with the help of JASP and Microsoft Excel applications. The results concluded that the 19 studies analyzed showed that the ethno-pedagogy-based role playing model had a significant influence on early childhood language and reading skills with a score of (g= 0.895; 95% CI 0.706-1.084; P < 0.001) high effect size category.  These findings explain that the ethno-pedagogical role playing model effectively improves early childhood language and writing skills in the learning process.
