Abstract

Plant pests and diseases are barriers to orchid cultivation. These pests and diseases can harm and even destroy cultivated orchids, resulting in losses for producers. This study aims to identify and test fungal infections that cause stem rot in Dendrobium sp., Vanda sp., and Phalaenopsis sp. orchids. The study was carried out at Udayana University's Plant Disease Laboratory, Plant Protection Concentration, Agroecotechnology Study Program, and Faculty of Agriculture. The Fusarium fungus was discovered to be the primary cause of stem rot in Dendrobium sp. marcophyllum orchids after sampling them. The application of Fusarium fungus to three orchid genera, Dendrobium sp., Vanda sp., and Phalaenopsis sp., revealed that Phalaenopsis sp. orchids experienced a significant increase in infection percentage, beginning at 20% in the first week and peaking at 70% in the fifth week, indicating a high susceptibility to the disease. Meanwhile, Dendrobium sp. showed a steadier infection rate, beginning at 10% in the first week and progressively growing to 40% by the fifth week. Vanda sp. exhibited the lowest infection rate, rising from 10% in the first week to 20% by the fifth week, demonstrating a significantly greater resistance than the other two species.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan petani kopi Robusta di Desa Belatungan, Kecamatan Pupuan, Kabupaten Tabanan, dengan mengatasi masalah hama dan penyakit tanaman kopi. Produksi kopi di wilayah ini mengalami penurunan yang signifikan akibat serangan hama Hypothenemus hampei Ferr dan penyakit tanaman yang tidak tertangani dengan baik. Salah satu solusi yang ditawarkan adalah penggunaan minyak sereh sebagai pengendali hama dan penyakit. Penyuluhan dan pelatihan lapangan dilakukan untuk memperkenalkan penggunaan minyak sereh sebagai pestisida alami yang ramah lingkungan dan efektif. Hasilnya menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan petani dalam mengatasi serangan hama, serta peningkatan produktivitas tanaman kopi yang lebih sehat.

Abstract

The effect of inoculation of a combination of the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus of Glomus and Acaulospora on micropropagated banana plantlets cultivar Raja from Bali during the acclimatization phase was investigated. The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Station of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, over the period of March to June 2022. The objective of this research was to evaluate the impact of various doses of mycorrhizae on the growth of tissue culture banana plantlets that had undergone acclimatization for a period of six weeks. A total of five different doses of mycorrhiza were applied to the acclimatized plantlets, namely M0=without mycorrhiza and M5=5g mycorrhiza.kg-1, M10=10 g mycorrhiza.kg-1, M15=15 g mycorrhiza.kg-1, M20=20 g mycorrhiza.kg-1. A significant effect was discovered at M15; however, compared to M20, M20 gave better results for root length and fresh weight of the above-ground part, indicating the best dose was 20 g mycorrhiza kg-1. This study concluded that mycorrhiza has a very significant role in supporting the growth of micro propagated banana plantlets at post-acclimatization. Variables observed, such as the average number of leaves, stem diameter, above-ground plant fresh and dry weight, and root fresh and dry weight, increased with the application of AMF (Glomus and Acaulospora).

Abstract

Purpose: By adopting an agriculture system that is in harmony with nature through an organic farming system approach, it is expected to produce commodities that are healthy and safe for consumption and have a higher economic value so that the two missions can be achieved in the future. Research methods: Research on identifying the potential and development of organic farming systems towards Bali organic islands had been carried out in all regencies and cities in Bali Province on May - December 2019. The research was conducted through a field survey and the results were agreed through FGD with stakeholders. Findings: Development of organic farming systems potentially carried out in almost all districts in Bali except in Klungkung Regency and Denpasar City. Implications: The innovation result of this research is the online, integrated, compact, lightweight, and easy to operate organic database system for Bali Province.

Abstract

Tujuan: Penelitian yang dilakukan bekerja sama dengan Badan Riset Inovasi Daerah (Brida) Provinsi Bali ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi pengembangan jeruk keprok Tejakula dan sebarannya berdasarkan analisis kesesuaian lahan aktual dan potensial serta arahan pengelolaan lahan, dalam rangka pengembangan jeruk keprok Tejakula. Metode penelitian: Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Tejakula Kabupaten Buleleng mulai Mei 2023 sampai November 2023. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dan wawancara. Metode klasifikasi kesesuain lahan ditetapkan dengan cara mencocokkan (matching) data karakteristik/kualitas lahan dengan kriteria syarat tumbuh berdasarkan pedoman Ritung et al. Penilaian kesesuaian lahan dilakukan sampai pada tingkat unit. Hasil dan pembahasan: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas kesesuaian lahan aktual untuk tanaman jeruk keprok Tejakula tergolong S3 (sesuai marginal) sampai N (tidak sesuai) dengan factor pembatas curah hujan, tekstur, bahan kasar, KTK, N-total, P-tersedia, lereng dan bahaya erosi. Faktor pembatas setelah diperbaiki maka didapatkan kesesuaian lahan potensial tergolong S1 (sangat sesuai) sampai S2 (cukup sesuai) dengan faktor pembatas tekstur tanah. Implikasi: Perbaikan kesesuaian lahan potensial dapat dilakukan dengan upaya perbaikan struktur tanah dengan penambahan pupuk organik. Arahan penggunaan lahan pada lokasi penelitian dengan mengatur waktu tanam, penambahan pupuk organik, pupuk Urea, Pupuk TSP/SP36 dan menerapkan teknik konservasi yaitu dengan terasering dan tanaman penguat teras.

Abstract

Trichoderma merupakan salah satu mikroorganisme spesifik spesies, jadi masing-masing spesies Trichoderma akan memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda terhadap spesies tanaman yang berbeda. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Penambahan Trichoderma spp. Pada Media Tanam Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Pisang (Musa acuminata) Cavendish Hasil Kultur Jaringan. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan percobaan satu faktor dengan rancangan lingkungan RAL. Trichoderma ditambahkan dengan perbedaan spesies Trichoderma yaitu T0 = Kontrol, Ta = T. asperellum., Th= T. harzianum, Tk = T. koningii, Tv = T. viride. Tahapan penelitian aklimatisasi plantlet tahap satu (3 minggu), inkubasi Trichoderma pada kompos (2 minggu), aklimatisasi tahap dua (6 minggu). Data yang diperoleh dari pengukuran, penghitungan dan pengamatan variabel dianalisis secara statistik dengan menggunakan analisis of variance (ANOVA). Hasil analisis ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Trichoderma spp. pada tanaman pisang (Musa Acuminata) cavendish hasil kultur in vitro berpengaruh tidak nyata P ≥ 0,05 terhadap semua variabel yang diamati. Namun ada kecenderungan pertambahan jumlah helai daun Th lebih banyak 1,75 helai dibanding T0, panjang akar Th lebih panjang 6,525 cm dibanding T0.

Abstract

One major disease of citrus is basal stem rot which may cause significant constraint on citrus production in Indonesia. Basically the diseasecan be caused by fungi Phytophthora spp., Diplodia sp., and Botryodiplodia theobromae or Lasiodiplodia theobromae. The purpose of this study wasto provide information on the main pathogens and characterization of BPB disease, especially in citrus in Bali, which ultimately leads to early warning for protection against BPB disease and enriches academic evidence about pre-existing BPB disease.The method used is observation andisolation, pathogenicity test, and in vitro inhibitory test. Research activities include (1) sampling, (2) isolation of pathogens from symptomatic citrusplants, (3) test of pathogenicity, (4) identification of pathogen morphology and molecular, (5) DNA amplification, (6) DNA electrophoresis (7) analysis of DNA sequences. The results of this research successfully identified Lasiodiplodia theobromae, as a pathogen of citrus stem rot disease in Bali Province.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to analyze the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer packages on the growth of Tejakula tangerine plants and changes in soil chemical properties after being given organic and inorganic fertilizer packages. Research methods: The method used in this research was a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 1 (one) factor. The treatment tested was the fertilizer package dose (P), consisting of 3 levels, namely organic fertilizer/cow manure (Po), organic cow manure + 22.6 g Urea fertilizer + 4 g KCl fertilizer + Phonska Plus 15 fertilizer -15-15 dose 84 g (Ph), and organic cow manure fertilizer + Urea fertilizer dose 22.6 g, KCl fertilizer dose 4 g, Phonska Plus fertilizer 15-15-15 dose 84 g + mycorrhizal biofertilizer + liquid organic fertilizer (POC) probiotics (Pc). Each treatment was repeated 8 times to obtain 24 treatments. Findings: The response to the fertilizer package had a significant to very significant effect on plant growth, such as increasing plant height, increasing the number of primary branches, increasing stem diameter and number of leaves. The fertilizer package that gave the highest response to plant height, number of leaves, while the increase in stem diameter had the same effect. Primary branch augmentation is the most influential Ph package but is not significantly different from PC. The effect of fertilizer packages on changes in soil chemical properties is that pH is neutral, DHL is classified as low to very high, C-org is classified as high, N-tot is classified as medium, P-available and K-available is classified as very high. Implication: The effect of mixed organic, inorganic and biological fertilizers and probiotic POC provide the best response to plant growth and increase DHL in the soil.

Abstract

This community service program was carried out at Kerambitan 1 Public High School based on the low interest of Generation Z in agriculture due to their limited understanding of the use of modern technology in this sector. This activity aimed to increase students' interest and understanding of agriculture through counseling and workshops with three main topics, namely in vitro culture technology, the use of digital technology in landscape architecture, and agribusiness concepts, which were then complemented by tree planting in the school environment. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in both the students' knowledge and interest. More than 80% of students understood the material after the activity, with the largest increase in the topic of in vitro culture (from 30.0% to 85.7%). Students' interest in continuing their studies in agriculture also increased from 32.9% to 68.6%. In addition, the tree planting activity with teachers, lecturers, and KKN students fostered environmental awareness and the importance of sustainability. The conclusion of this activity is that the integration of theoretical learning, technological practice, and real environmental action can increase students' enthusiasm in understanding modern agriculture, with the added benefit of a collaborative and interactive approach.
