Abstract

Today’s digital technology has developed and can be utilized by its users, one of whom is doing Personal branding by becoming a VTuber (Virtual YouTuber). This research aims to find the Personal branding of an Indonesian VTuber named Anya Melfissa by utilizing YouTube and Twitter/X in her career. This research uses a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive approach and is based on the Personal branding theory coined by Peter Montoya. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. In the interviews, three informants were obtained using purposive sampling technique. This research uses data analysis techniques from Matthew B. Miles and Michael Huberman. Based on the results of the study, Anya Melfissa’s personal brand has relevance to Peter Montoya’s Personal branding theory, which includes the concepts of specialization, leadership, personality, distinctiveness, visibility, persistence, and goodwill. The results showed that specialization in Anya Melfissa’s Personal branding, which is fluent in Indonesian, English, and Japanese, is the dominant characteristic in her Personal branding.

Abstract

This research looks at the persuasive communication strategies used by the Sekata Foundation in fostering drug addicts with the Therapeutic Community approach. This research aims to find out about what kind of communication strategies are used, what messages are conveyed, and what kind of approach is used by the Sekata Foundation in terms of coaching drug addict patients. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data collection methods used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results showed that Sekata Foundation, in fostering drug addicts with the Therapeutic Community approach, uses a persuasive communication strategy. The purpose of this communication is to change attitudes, opinions, and behaviors. The communication strategies used tend to be effective in fostering drug addicts at Sekata Foundation in changing behavior, attitudes, and views.

Abstract

LPP TVRI East Kalimantan Station, which once had great power over Indonesian television, slowly began to decline. LPP TVRI East Kalimantan Station has a goal to improve the image of the institution. The purpose of this research is to find out the public relations function and strategies by LPP TVRI East Kalimantan Station in order to build their image and evaluate their strategies. This research uses a qualitative approach method and used Image Restoration Theory. The results showed that LPP TVRI East Kalimantan Station made strategic efforts in accordance with the assumptions of image restoration theory. These strategies include socializing to not broadcasting discrimination, forming Fopersi, promoting through new media content, conducting assessments in employee recruitment, welcoming and accompanying guests to represent their image. It is undeniable that LPP TVRI East Kalimantan Station has not been maximized in applying its strategies because it does not yet have its own public relations division in implementing its public relations functions, resulting in overload in carrying out its duties. It is important for LPP TVRI East Kalimantan Station consistently implementing its strategies so they can achieve the goal of building a positive image and strengthening its role as a unifying medium for the nation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the rhetoric of the Governor of East Kalimantan speaking in front of the mass media with the basis of Aristotle's theory as the researcher's standard. The theory used in this research is Aristotle's Rhetoric theory, in its development, rhetoric also includes the process of adjusting ideas to people and adjusting people to ideas through various kinds of messages. From the research results, it can be concluded that rhetoric plays an important role in public communication, especially in the context of political discourse through the mass media. The Governor of East Kalimantan, Isran Noor, with his straight-talking style, managed to use rhetoric effectively to influence public opinion, build relationships with the media, and inspire the public. In a situation that does not have an official communication team, the Governor is still able to manage his communication well and have a positive impact.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of environmentally friendly raw materials and green marketing communication on corporate reputation and profitability within the manufacturing industry in Central Java. Utilizing a quantitative research approach, data were collected from 140 manufacturing firms, analyzed using a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5. The data were processed with Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3) to evaluate the proposed hypotheses. The findings reveal that both the use of environmentally friendly raw materials and green marketing communication have positive and significant effects on corporate reputation and profitability. These results highlight the strategic importance of sustainability practices in enhancing corporate outcomes. The study underscores the value of integrating environmentally conscious operations and effective communication strategies to achieve competitive advantages in the manufacturing sector. By adopting sustainable practices and promoting these efforts through targeted marketing communications, companies can strengthen their market position and financial performance.

Abstract

Along with the rapid advancement of information and communication technology, the use of online dating applications is now widely used by various groups. The use of this application is considered to help individuals find friends and even partners. One of the online dating applications that is trending among them is Tinder. With the "swipe right" and "swipe left" features as well as the distance and age filters presented, Tinder has successfully become an online dating application that has successfully attracted many users around the world, one of which is Indonesia. However, behind the success of this application as a bridge for introduction between individuals, various problems have emerged such as cybercrime. The victims of cybercrime that occur on this online dating application are mostly women. This study aims to analyze women's communication strategies in avoiding cybercrime on the Tinder online dating application. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and participatory observation with five Tinder user informants in Samarinda. This study uses the theory of communication privacy management, uncertainty reduction theory, and symbolic interaction theory to analyze the strategies used by women in avoiding cybercrime in using the Tinder application. The results found in this study indicate that female users of the online dating application Tinder have a high awareness of the risks of cybercrime and use effective communication strategies to protect themselves, including limiting personal information, verifying the identity of potential partners, utilizing the application's security features, and sharing information with other users.

Abstract

Abstrak: Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini berfokus pada pemberdayaan perempuan kepala keluarga (PEKKA) di komunitas MomPreneurs Kota Samarinda. Program ini menangani beberapa tantangan utama seperti akses terbatas terhadap teknologi, rendahnya literasi digital, serta kesulitan dalam melakukan inovasi produk. Tujuan utama program ini adalah meningkatkan keterampilan kewirausahaan melalui tiga kegiatan inti: (1) bimbingan teknis, (2) pelatihan usaha, dan (3) pendampingan pengembangan usaha. Program ini melibatkan 15 perempuan peserta yang sesuai dengan kriteria antara lain merupakan perempuan kepala keluarga, memiliki usaha yang berada dalam tahap awal pengembangan, berkenan mengembangkan usahanya dalam bentuk kelompok usaha bersama dan memiliki komitmen kuat untuk membangun usaha. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam keterampilan pemasaran digital, inovasi produk, dan manajemen usaha. Evaluasi program ini dilakukan secara formatif selama berlangsungnya kegiatan dan sumatif melalui tes awal dan akhir program, serta evaluasi peningkatan omzet usaha. Hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 80%, serta peningkatan omzet hingga 35% selama program berlangsung.Abstract: This community service program (PKM) focuses on empowering female heads of households (PEKKA) in the MomPreneurs community in Samarinda through the application of technology and digital marketing. The program addresses several key challenges, such as limited access to technology, low digital literacy, and difficulties in product innovation. The main objective of this program is to enhance entrepreneurial skills through three core activities: (1) technical guidance, (2) business training, and (3) business development mentoring. The program involves 15 women participants who meet specific criteria, including being the head of their household, having a business in the early stage of development, being willing to develop their business as a joint business group, and having a strong commitment to grow their business. The program results indicate significant improvements in digital marketing skills, product innovation, and business management. Evaluation of the program was conducted both formatively, throughout the activities, and summatively via pre- and post- assessments and turnover growth metrics. Results indicated the 80% improvement of participants’ business knowledge and skills, along with an increase in turnover of up to 35% over the program period.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the influence of the #correctlanguage hashtag on Instagram related to the good and correct language use among zillenials in the city of Samarinda. This type of research utilized quantitative methods. The data collection technique used a questionnaire, a sample was collected of 100 respondents consisting of the millennial generation (aged 15 - 30 years) in the city of Samarinda. The research results reveal that the #Benarberbahasa hashtag has a significant positive influence on the good and correct use of Indonesian. In addition, it is found that media content and frequency of media use and media consumption also contributed to strengthening the impact of this hashtag. This study concludes that #Benarberbahasa hashtag is an effective digital campaign in influencing the use of good and correct Indonesian, as well as recommending similar strategies to be implemented by content creators or other linguistic activists in order to maintain the existence of Good and Correct Use of Indonesian

Abstract

Strategic communication and focused capacity-building initiatives are essential for collaborative progress in underrepresented areas. This research investigates the function of strategic communication in promoting cooperation and augmenting the entrepreneurial capabilities of women heads of households (PEKKA) in Samarinda, Indonesia, using the MomPreneurs program. The project tackles critical obstacles, such as restricted access to technology, insufficient digital literacy, and ineffective marketing techniques. The program employs a participative method to include technical support, digital marketing training, and mentorship for the development of entrepreneurial abilities. Study indicates that strategic communication methods, including storytelling and peer networking, significantly improve information dissemination and collaborative problem-solving among participants. Capacity-building initiatives, including practical training and digital marketing seminars, led to a 20-35% enhancement in productivity and income among participant groups. Moreover, promoting cooperation via group-oriented business endeavors reinforced community links and elevated individual drive. This study emphasizes the significant effect of integrating strategic communication with focused skill development to empower underprivileged women. The results enhance the discussion on social entrepreneurship and community empowerment by illustrating how communication-focused projects may stimulate sustained economic development. The study highlights the need for scalable solutions that include communication tactics and capacity-building to tackle structural inequities in emerging countries.

Abstract

Interaktivitas menjadi modal utama akun ini menjaga eksistensinya di era persaingan banyaknya akun lainya yang semakin kompetitif. Untuk mewujudkan  Interaktivitas yang relevan akun ini melakukan beberapa cara yaitu User to system User to User  User to Document. Akun Instagram "Balikpapanku" berfungsi sebagai platform media sosial yang menyajikan informasi, promosi, dan interaksi mengenai kegiatan dan layanan di kota Balikpapan. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi tingkat interaktivitas pengguna dengan akun tersebut, termasuk frekuensi komentar, like, dan share, serta pengaruhnya terhadap engagement dan kepuasan pengguna. Melalui analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif dari aktivitas pengguna, ditemukan bahwa konten yang relevan dan berkualitas tinggi secara signifikan meningkatkan partisipasi aktif dari pengikut. Interaksi yang kuat antara pengguna dan akun ini mencerminkan pentingnya konten yang menarik dan responsif dalam membangun komunitas online yang dinamis. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan tentang strategi terbaik untuk mengoptimalkan interaksi di media sosial dan meningkatkan hubungan antara bisnis atau komunitas dengan audiens mereka
