Abstract

Teacher training plays a critical role in improving the quality of engineering education in Indonesia, particularly in preparing educators to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0. This study aims to analyze how teacher training contributes to enhancing instructional practices, teaching strategies, and student learning outcomes in technical education. Using a qualitative literature review approach, this research synthesizes findings from national and international studies published between 2010 and 2024 that focus on teacher professional development in vocational and engineering education. The analysis reveals that industry-oriented and continuous professional development programs significantly enhance teachers’ pedagogical innovation, digital technology integration, and ability to implement project-based and outcome-based learning. Such training enables teachers to shift from traditional lecture-based instruction toward collaborative and experiential learning models aligned with industrial needs. As a result, students demonstrate higher engagement, improved technical competence, and greater readiness for professional environments. However, disparities in training access, weak collaboration between industries and educational institutions, and limited digital infrastructure remain persistent challenges. The study recommends the adoption of dual-system, blended learning, and mentoring-based training models that integrate real industrial experiences into classroom practices. These models can help ensure sustainable teacher competency development and improve the alignment between education and industrial demands.

Abstract

The era of disruption, characterized by rapid technological advancement, globalization, and complex transnational challenges, has significantly transformed the concept and practice of citizenship. This article aims to examine the role of Global Citizenship Education (GCE) in preparing critical, inclusive, and responsible global citizens. Employing a qualitative conceptual approach based on a systematic review of relevant literature, this study synthesizes theoretical frameworks and empirical findings related to global citizenship and civic education. The findings indicate that global citizenship extends beyond national boundaries and encompasses global awareness, intercultural inclusivity, ethical responsibility, and active civic participation. In the context of disruptive global change, education plays a strategic role in integrating global perspectives with local values to foster democratic attitudes and social responsibility. The novelty of this article lies in positioning global citizenship as a transformative paradigm within civic education that responds to global crises while strengthening moral and democratic values. The study concludes that the systematic integration of GCE is essential for developing citizens capable of navigating global complexity in a responsible and ethical manner.

Abstract

Financial statements must be presented in a timely manner to remain relevant; however, delays still occur. This study examines the effect of profitability and leverage on the timeliness of financial reporting in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024. A quantitative approach with multiple linear regression is used on 11 companies (55 observations). The results show that partially, profitability (sig 0,564 > 0,05) and leverage ((sig 0,442 > 0,05) have no significant effect (H1 and H2 rejected). However, simultaneously, they have a significant effect (sig 0,042 < 0,05; H3 accepted). The R Square value of 0.205 indicates a 20.5% contribution. In conclusion, profitability and leverage do not affect timeliness individually but have a joint effect with low explanatory power, indicating the influence of other factors such as firm size, liquidity, audit quality, and corporate governance.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aimed to develop a Mini Dictionary of Literary Text Terms as a learning medium for Class XI students at Al-Washliyah 1 Senior High School Medan to improve their understanding of literary concepts and terminology. Methodology: This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method, following the Borg and Gall development model. Data collection involved observation and questionnaires. The study included 62 students from Class XI Science and Social Science streams, with a sample of 31 students from Class XI Science. Expert validation assessments were conducted by two material experts, two design experts, and a teacher. Main Findings: Validation results from Material Expert I (92%) and Material Expert II (77%) classified the dictionary as "Decent." Design Expert I (84%) rated it as "Decent," while Design Expert II (90%) categorized it as "Very Decent." The teacher’s evaluation resulted in a "Very Decent" (87%) rating. These findings indicate that the Mini Dictionary of Literary Text Terms is valid and suitable as a learning medium for Class XI students. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a specialized Mini Dictionary tailored for Class XI students, enhancing literary text learning through a structured and validated resource. The findings contribute to literacy development in Indonesian high schools by offering a pedagogically sound and validated learning tool that improves students' comprehension of literary terminology.
