Abstract

Introduction: Stunting in children becomes a problem as a result of several factors including the level of mother's knowledge, feeding rules, and eating patterns. Data from Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) for 2022, the stunting rate in Indonesia is 21.6% (Ministry of Health RI, 2022). While the target standard for the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) is 19% in 2024. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of mother's knowledge and feeding rules with eating patterns in stunted children. Methods: This research employed a correlational study design and a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 87 respondents selected using a simple random sampling technique. This study’s independent variables were maternal knowledge and feeding rules, and the dependent variable was dietary habits. The data was collected using a maternal knowledge level questionnaire, a fundamental feeding rules questionnaire, and a children’s feeding questionnaire (CFQ), which was subsequently analyzed using Spearman’s Rho with a significance level of α=0,05. Results: The bivariate analysis findings demonstrated a significant correlation between maternal knowledge and dietary habits patterns (p=0.000) (r=0.372). In addition, there was a significant correlation between feeding rules and dietary habits (p=0.000) (r=0.424). Conclusion: The level of maternal knowledge and feeding rules were related to children’s diet patterns. The level of maternal knowledge and feeding rules were factors associated with the dietary habits of stunted children; thus, increasing maternal knowledge and feeding rules would improve the diet patterns.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of protection motivation theory (PMT)-based intentions on nursing care documentation compliance behavior. In this research, motivation that influences behavior is described by intention, which is an indication of how strongly someone wants to carry out a behavior. The method used in literature searches uses four databases, namely Google Scholar, PubMed, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect. Search for articles or journals using keywords and Boolean operators. The research results show that the most applicable benchmark for individual behavioral motivation in protection motivation theory is intention. The research conclusions illustrate that there is an intention showing a person's willingness to try to carry out behavior in accordance with applicable orders or policies. If the individual understands the risk of non-compliance in filling out nursing care documentation, then the individual will have the motivation to protect themselves (protection motivation) in the form of a desire to carry out documentation in accordance with the policy procedures that apply at the hospital. Abstract

Unhealthy lifestyles among adolescents in urban areas are still a problem. Peers are role models in adolescent's lifestyle. However, little is known about the peer support in eating behavior, sedentary lifestyle and physical activities, which thus needs to be explored. This study aims to analyze the relationship between peer support and adolescent lifestyle. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 105 adolescents using proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected by questionnaire. The Spearman rho test was performed to identify the relationship between peer support within a sedentary lifestyle and eating behavior, while to identify the relationship between peer support and physical activity using pearson, the level of significance was determined as p≤0.05. The results showed that there was a relationship between peer support and eating behavior (p=0.012; r=0.243) as well as adolescents' physical activity (p=0.001; r=0.324). There is no relationship between peer support and a sedentary lifestyle both on weekdays (p=0.181; r=0.131) and on weekends (p=0.735; r=0.033). The results show that peers have an important role in improving healthy lifestyle patterns in adolescents, especially in eating behavior and physical activity, so peer involvement interventions to improve healthy lifestyles in adolescents are recommended.
