Physics is closely related to problem solving. To be able to solve the problem appropriately, it takes a good conceptual understanding to analyze the concepts underlying the problem and to determine the correct problem-solving procedure based on the condition of the problem. Poor conceptual understanding causes the inability of students to solve various physics problems. Kinematics is a fundamental concept in physics that is needed to understand other physics concepts. As a biology teacher candidate, a biology education student is required to master other science fields such as physics. Therefore, the authors tested the physics conceptual understanding of biology teacher candidates on the topic of kinematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the physics conceptual understanding possessed by biology teacher candidates on the topic of kinematics. This research was a descriptive study with data collection techniques using questionnaires in the form of essay questions to test students' conceptual understanding regarding distance and displacement, velocity and acceleration. The results showed that there were still problems for biology teacher candidates in understanding the concepts of distance, displacement, velocity and acceleration. Therefore, a lecture method is needed that can improve the physics conceptual understanding of biology teacher candidates through general physics courses.

Various efforts have been made to realize ideal physics learning, one of which is by applying the right learning model. This study's objective was to ascertain the impact of cooperative model type think pair share on students' physics learning outcomes based on instructional materials and media. This study collected 17 articles from national and international journals to be discussed using the meta-analysis method. Articles used in this study have been analyzed and meet the categories for effect size calculation and are grouped based on two indicators, namely based on subject matter and learning media. The results showed that the think pair share learning approach had an overall positive effect of 1.98 on students' learning outcomes in physics, with a high influence category. According to the learning materials, the material with a magnitude and measurement of 5.03 and a high influence category is where the think pair share model has the most impact. Based on learning media, the most effective influence on animation media is 1.61 with a high influence category. The TPS learning model is most effective in improving the physics learning outcomes of students on the material of quantities and measurements. The most effective learning tool for enhancing students' physics learning outcomes when using the TPS model is animated learning material

In physics studies, students experience misconceptions in physics learning, no exception to straight motion materials. These misconceptions can be identified using diagnostic tests, but diagnostic tests are not yet available in schools. To solve this problem, a test instrument is needed that can identify student misconceptions on direct motion material. The study aims to analyze the misconceptions of the students and their causes in straight motion. The instrument used in identifying misconception and its causes is the Six-Tier Multiple Choice which consists of 17 elements of six-level double choice on straight motion material. The type of research used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach.The population in this study is a student of class XI MIPA State High School in Bungo district. The sample in this research is five schools in Bongo district with the number of respondents is 127 pupils. The highest misconception was found in High School E, 35.29% and the lowest was found at High School A, 15.03%. The main cause of misconceptions in students was from the personal thinking of students 76.57% of the total of 22 students.

Students' interest and motivation to learn physics at the School of Sports Excellence has an important role in influencing students' academic achievement. However, in reality the interest and motivation of students at the School of Sports Excellence to learn physics found in the field is still low. This study aims to analyze the interest and motivation to learn physics of students at the School of Sports Excellence. This research uses survey method with data collection technique using questionnaire. The data analysis technique used percentage technique. This research was limited to class XI MIPA totaling 29 students as a sample. The results showed that students' interest and motivation to learn physics were low. The results of questionnaire analysis of student interest and motivation to learn physics are categorized as low, a strategy is needed to increase student interest and motivation to learn physics. The implication of this research is that educators should consider differences in students' interest and motivation to learn in designing appropriate curriculum and supportive teaching methods. With a better understanding of the factors that influence interest and motivation to learn physics, education in sport speciality schools can be more effective.

Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sangat diperlukan karena dalam memecahkan masalah siswa dituntut untuk lebih tanggap dan menyelesaikan masalah yang ditemukan dalam pembelajaran fisika. Salah satu materi fisika adalah pemanasan global. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa mengenai pemanasan global dalam pembelajaran fisika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 2 Padang Panjang Sumatera Barat. Sebanyak 33 orang siswa terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Instrumen pada penelitian ini berupa tes esai yang terdiri dari 4 soal. Soal-soal tersebut disusun ke dalam 4 kategori keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dikemukakan oleh Ennis. Setiap kategori diberikan satu indikator untuk digunakan. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian telah menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa masih rendah dengan skor 55,73. Berdasarkan hasil analisis keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi pemanasan global, skor tertinggi diperoleh pada kategori manajemen strategis dan taktis (kriteria sedang), membuat penjelasan lebih lanjut, memberikan penjelasan sederhana, dan membuat kesimpulan berada pada kategori rendah.

Using media in the classroom can improve comprehension, convey trustworthy and engaging facts, facilitate data interpretation, and condense material for students. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how urgently or significantly interactive learning materials can enhance student learning outcomes. The research methodology employed is a survey of the literature, which involves reading several articles from both domestic and foreign publications about the application of interactive learning media to enhance learning outcomes. The study's findings demonstrate how crucial it is to employ interactive learning resources to raise student learning objectives.

Teaching materials are a crucial aspect in the process of learning. In the process of learning, it is necessary to have teaching materials that can increase students' understanding of concepts. One of the solutions that can be made is to bring students closer to everyday phenomena. This research was conducted as a basis for developing teaching materials based on phenomenon-based learning. The research type used is descriptive qualitative. The samples used were three physics teachers. The instruments for research used were interview sheets and literature review. The interview topics related to learning conditions at school, learning resources, learning models and obstacles faced in the process of learning. Based on the conditions in the field, teachers still really need learning resources that can increase the enthusiasm of students to learn, by bringing students closer to phenomena in the surrounding environment, so students can understand learning material quickly and correctly. The results shown that teachers need materials for teaching based on phenomenon-based learning to support student understanding, particulary in fluid material. Therefore, the research results can be used as a basis for research to develop teaching materials based on phenomenon-based learning

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengembangan e-modul dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada materi energi terbarukan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar wawancara kepada guru dan penyebaran angket kepada siswa. Lembar wawancara menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan dan minat siswa berbeda. Bahan ajar yang biasa digunakan dalam pembelajaran adalah bahan ajar cetak berupa LKPD. Terkait pemahaman konsep masih tergolong sedang, terkhususnya pada materi energi terbarukan. Proses pembelajaran fisika di kelas jarang menggunakan pendekatan CTL. Hasil angket siswa didapatkan bahwa Sebanyak 87,8% siswa menganggap fisika adalah pelajaran yang sulit untuk dipahami. sebanyak 95,5% siswa membutuhkan bahan ajar dalam bentuk elektronik. Selain itu sebanyak 97,3% siswa membutuhkan bahan ajar kontekstual yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep. Sumber pembelajaran yang dapat dihasilkan untuk membantu siswa mengatasi kesulitan dalam memahami pelajaran fisika dapat berupa e-modul yang mengadopsi pendekatan CTL.

This study investigates the implementation of project-based learning, explicitly focusing on designing and presenting e-posters within the Basic Physics course for pre-service science teachers, with a particular emphasis on pre-service biology teachers. Descriptive and correlational quantitative methods were utilized to analyze data collected from 16 participating students throughout 16 sessions. The assessment perspectives of lecturers, peers, and self-assessment were examined, revealing disparities in scores and highlighting the importance of multiple assessment sources. Recognition through awards was granted to students with exemplary performance, while guidance sessions led by the instructor significantly correlated with improvements in poster design. Analysis of poster content indicated a focus on fundamental physics concepts, mainly mechanics, with students utilizing various information sources. The study underscores the effectiveness of project-based learning in promoting student engagement, skill development, and conceptual understanding in physics education.

Perkembangan zaman menjadi tantangan bagi kita dalam mengembangkan kemampuan abad 21 untuk menghadapi era globalisasi sekarang ini. Salah satu kemampuan yang penting untuk ditingkatkan adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan LKPD terintegrasi model predict observe explain (POE) untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 6 Solok Selatan, Subyek penelitian ini ada 2 yaitu guru fisika dan 48 siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 6 Solok Selatan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, angket dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data ada 3 yaitu lembar panduan wawancara guru, angket analisis kebutuhan siswa dan soal tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan analisis data didapatkan hasil yaitu: 1) Analisis kebutuhan awal dimana karakteristik peserta didik berada pada kategori cukup dengan persentase 66%, proses pembelajaran fisika berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase 78%, pemahaman materi siswa masih rendah, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam kategori sangat rendah dengan rata-rata nilai yang didapatkan adalah 35,64 dan sebanyak 83% siswa membutuhkan LKPD cetak yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.
