Abstract

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has accelerated the adoption of fintech payment services, particularly among Generation Z who are highly familiar with digital platforms. However, users’ intention to adopt fintech payment is strongly influenced by their perceptions of usefulness, ease of use, and security. This study aims to analyze the effects of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and perceived security on the intention to use fintech payment among Generation Z in Sidoarjo Regency. This research employs a quantitative approach using purposive sampling, involving 200 respondents who have used fintech payment services for at least three months. Data were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results indicate that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and perceived security have poitive and significant effects on the intention to use fintech payment. Among these variables, perceived usefulness has the most dominant influence on usage intention. These findings support the relevance of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in explaining financial technology adoption behavior among Generation Z and provide practical implications for fintech service providers to improve service quality, system usability, and security features to encourage sustainable usage, especially in suburban areas such as Sidoarjo Regency.

Abstract

This‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ research investigates how the FIRE mindset and digital financial inclusion impact financial stability among Generation Z, with self-concept serving as the mediating variable. The study employed a quantitative survey method and gathered data from 300 digitally active respondents. The data were then analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings reveal that both the FIRE mindset and digital financial inclusion are significant factors that determine financial stability. Also, self-concept is a direct influencing factor of financial stability. On the contrary, digital financial inclusion neither affects self-concept significantly nor does self-concept mediate the relationships. Hence, the results point out that the behavioral discipline and long-term financial orientation of Generation Z drive their financial stability more than the psychological mediation mechanisms. The paper further explains that for improving financial resilience, financial literacy, digital access, and consistent financial behavior need to be ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌combined.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, digital financial inclusion, and self-control on financial management behavior among Generation Z, as well as to analyze the role of self-control as an intervening variable. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survei method by distributing questionnaires to 120 Generation Z respondents who actively engage in digital financial activites. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The resluts show that digital financial inclusion and self-control have a positive and significant effect on financial management behavior. In addition, financial literacy and digital financial inclusion have a positive and significant effect on self-control. However, financial literacy does not have a significant effect on financial management behavior, indicating that financial knowledge alone is not sufficient to drive behavioral changes without internal motivation or habitual application in daily life. Self-control also fails to mediate the effect of financial literacy and digital financial inclusion on financial management behavior. These findings suggest that financial education should not only focus on cognitive aspects but also emphasize character building and the development of positive habits from an early age in order to foster healthy and sustainable financial bahevior.
